Pediatrics Club will be hosting a virtual guest speaker event with Dr. Louis Rapkin, a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Pediatrics club will be virtually hosting OMS-III and OMS-IV students to speak about their experience with boards, rotations, and applying to pediatrics residency.

Lip Sync Battle is back, this time Virtually! Teams will be asked to submit videos of themselves performing lip sync prior to a certain date. Then, viewers will donate money to their favorite team! The team that receives the largest donation wins!

November meeting will be held on Thursday, November 5th at 5:15pm via Zoom, and we will have a guest speaker, Dr. Masser.

The LECOM Emergency Medicine Club will be hosting a Rapid Sequence Intubation Course on Thursday, Oct. 29th at 5:30 where Dr. Risavi will cover the advanced technique of RSI used to secure patient airways in emergency situations.

Our October meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15th at 5:30pm via Zoom, and we will have a few guest speakers! Dr. Weaver-Agostoni, the Program Director from UPMC Shadyside, and two of her Family Medicine Residents will be hosting a Q&A.

The MS1 students have their third set of anatomy exams on October 8-9, 2020, for head and neck. SOMA members who are MS2s will host a virtual anatomy review night that will encompass both of these areas. The event will be hosted virtually.

The LECOM EM Club will be hosting a Stop the Bleed Course on Friday, Sept. 4th at 5:30 where Dr. Risavi will cover basic techniques used to control bleeding emergency situation and briefly discuss the mechanisms of clot formation.

Pediatrics club will be hosting Dr. Courson and residents from the University of Akron via Microsoft Teams to discuss the pediatric specialty and residency.
