We are hoping to collect items to comprise baskets for 20 - 30 families. The items needed/donated include the following supplies: -Rattles -Pacifier / Wubbanub -Gas Gift Card -Food Gift Cards -Books -Burp Cloths -Diapers -Wipes -Children's outfits -Chocolates/gum / candy for Mom -Handwritten Notes -Travel size stuff for an apartment for 30 days / mental health (for mom): Hand sanitizer / lotions / journals 20 - 30 families if possible - Grady's Decision will supplement if we cannot The clubs will purchase bags from our club funds to put all of the donated items into gift bags/baskets for the families. A spreadsheet will be sent out to the student body to 'sign up' for needed items that together will comprise 20-30 Easter baskets. Ex: 20 spaces for people to sign up for pacifiers/Wubbanub, 20 spaces for people to sign up for rattles, etc. This will ensure we have equal materials for each basket being donated. We will set up a collection box in LECOM's front office during the week so students can drop off their donated items. We wanted to hold a box by security in the front lobby for the week of December 2nd-6th. Then later on in the week on December 6th we would like to hold an event at LECOM, where members would put the baskets together for the NICU and for the E-boards of the WHMS and Pediatrics club to deliver them to Grady's Decision non-profit for distribution on December 17th. In addition we were hoping to have a zoom event with Ryan Smith to come and talk about his experience of giving these gifts and what it means to the patients family. I think this would be amazing for the students to see their impact on the patients and where their donations are actually going. This event would take place in the Case Room 117 or Overflow room (or any room with zoom/screen access) on December 6th, during the day and time we are putting together the Christmas Baskets. Zoom Event with Ryan Smith while we are packing the baskets on December 6th in Case Room 117 or Overflow room (or any room with zoom/screen access) Donations collected the week of December 2nd-6th by security in the front lobby Event to build and put together the Easter baskets 12/6 - Case Room 117 or Overflow room (or any space with zoom/screen access)October 21, 2024 at 9:33 PMApprovedPediatrics Club and Womens Health and Medical Society - LECOM Embroidered Sweatshirt SalePediatrics Club10/21/202411/14/2024Pediatrics Club and WHMS will be partnering to hold a LECOM embroidered sweatshirt sale. We have been working with a local shop, Creative Imprints, in addition to Matthew Breeze to ensure the proper LECOM logo (from the powerpoint file) was used to develop mockups. We will be offering students 2 different sweatshirt options, one being a 50/50 cotton/poly blend crewneck (cheaper option), and a second (more durable option) Champion cotton/poly/black poly power blend, moisture wicking, rib-hemmed crewneck. Both sweatshirt options will have the LECOM logo embroidered across the center of the chest. Sweatshirts will range in raw price from $32.30-$46.55 depending on how many of each sweatshirt option are purchased. The $40 and $55 cost per sweatshirt permits us a cushion for fundraising of about $7-$8 per sweatshirt purchased (divided between both clubs). Students will have the ability to select from a range of color choices (as approved from Matthew Bresee) as well as from sizes S-3XL when purchasing. See attached mockups for reference. The sale will be open to students between Thursday November 14-Wednesday November 20th. Sweatshirt orders will be placed with Creative Imprints the following day, Thursday November 21st. Sweatshirt orders will be completed (per Creative Imprints representative Abigail) by December 13th. This permits Peds Club and WHMS Executive Boards to distribute sweatshirts during finals week so students may purchase them as gifts for the holiday if they choose. We will plan to disburse sweatshirts to students during the day on Tuesday 12/17 in the cafeteria. Final fundraising amounts will be determined once all payments have been collected, and once raw costs for the sweatshirts have been used to pay Creative Imprints. Pediatrics Club and WHMS will then evenly split the proceeds for fundraising purposes.October 22, 2024 at 4:02 PMApprovedMedical Outreach Medical Spanish Volunteer Sign-Ups (Individual sign ups separate from the school or school organizations)Spanish Medical Club10/22/202411/14/2024PLEASE READ: Students will be signing up to volunteer AS INDIVIDUALS on their own time, separate from the school, NOT as members of LECOM or of the medical Spanish club organization.
