We plan to have the table present on August 5th during the student expo and offer free raffle ticket chances to new members during club/activity sign-up. We hope that the table will incentivize new students to sign up and join SAAO and come to our first open forum the following Tuesday night. We also plan to sell tickets to existing members of SAAO-Erie at various price options 1 ticket for $1.00, 3 tickets for $5.00, and an arm's length of tickets (12) for $10.00. Paper raffle tickets with printed numbers will be used and cash/check will be accepted with all transactions being logged via our treasurer in a Microsoft Excel sheet. The drawing will take place on August 15th.

This event will consist of volunteers sorting, packaging, and preparing grocery items. It is important for students to be involved in the community in several ways and this event will provide students with a new way to be involved. The event will take place on September 9, 2023 from 1:00pm - 3:30pm. All students will register as a volunteer through the food bank website and watch a short introduction video on the tasks they will be assigned during the event. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the event 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the event 3.) We will sanitize before and after the event 4.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending The educational purpose of this event is to continue to build connections within the community and provide a chance for the students to give back to Erie.

As IMS club is focused on promoting diversity as well as serving all kinds of communities, we find working along the MCRC to align with our club goals. The MCRC is currently in need of all sorts of school supplies (listed below) for their young adult and student populations returning for the new school year. We would collect donations from August 14th to August 20th via a donation box set up near the LECOM's security office. Then, deliver the items on August 21st to the MCRC center. We are hoping for each item to be worth 0.5 volunteer hours, with the max of 2 hours per person. August 5, 2023 at 2:36 PMApprovedWeekly Mentoring Club VolunteeringMentoring08/05/202310/05/2023After a small hiatus due to the Kids Club being temporally closed, Mentoring Club is officially been greenlit by the YMCA to return to the Kids Club at Erie Heights/Gardenview from September 5th onward! We are formally submitting our annual request to resume weekly volunteering with the kids on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30, starting October 5th. One adult staff member from the YMCA (usually 2-3 are present on a regular basis) will be present at every meeting to be in control and take responsibility for the program and children. The purpose of the presence of the LECOM students once a week at the Kids Club is to help mentor and facilitate personal growth in the children of the program. We intend on continuing our weekly activities of fun & games while also maintaining a positive atmosphere for everyone to feel safe & welcomed by those from LECOM. This will provide students the opportunity to show pride in their school while staying warm. We plan to sell the jackets at a low profit to keep them affordable for all students and we plan to sell to all years and staff at LECOM. We plan on using the official LECOM logo as provided in the portal on the jacket. The Patagonia Jacket Fundraiser will help our club accumulate funds to use this coming school year on any events that we plan on hosting. Dr. Queen specializes in Emergency Medicine & Internal medicine. He would like to come to talk to EM Club members about navigating emergency medicine and answer any questions students may have. Dr. Queen will present to us about ultrasound techniques frequently used in the Emergency Department, followed by a short interactive activity for students to participate in. It will give our members the chance to interact with a healthcare provider within the community and understand ultrasound as a skill. All equipment for the interactive ultrasound activity will be provided by Dr. Queen. We will also have Dr. Risavi present to teach students about tourniquets and offer practice with obtaining blood pressure. The EM Club and Dr. Risavi will provide the tourniquets and blood pressure cuffs. Students will bring their own stethoscopes. A sign-up sheet will be provided for students to participate, and students will be asked to fill out COVID screening forms to adhere to COVID Regulations. Our Club Advisor, Dr. Risavi, has approved of the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Friday October 20th at the Kearsarge Fire Department from 1700-2100.

These physicians are in various fields of medicine to create a Female Physician Panel. They will be speaking to the students about their journey into medicine, how to navigate being a female physician while raising children, and will answer any questions about their career, family planning and navigating with male coworkers as well.

SafeNet provides support to people impacted by domestic violence. They need items such as welcome teddy bears for children, clothing, toiletries, etc. We will run a donation drive that allows members to donate to this critical organization and support the community. The drive involves students signing up on an excel spreadsheet for the items they would like to donate from October 1st- 13th. We would then provide a bin for the students to drop off their donations from October 16th- 20th. The donation bin will be left near the security office, and emptied as it fills to ensure enough space for donations to be left in the bin. For participating in the drive we will offer 1 service hour for every 2 items a student donates, with each student able to earn a maximum of 2 service hours. Students will be dropping off donations to the bin located in the LECOM building and therefore adhere to LECOM COVID mitigation policies. All correspondence for the event will be done through email and E-Board members will drop off the items to SafeNet at 1702 French Street in Erie once the drive is over. This event will be held on a Saturday to talk to EM club members about respiratory emergencies and airway management as an important clinical skill. There will be a presentation to discuss the importance of airway management, and to familiarize students with protocols and techniques. There will then be a hands-on learning opportunity for students to practice techniques. It will give our members the chance to interact with one another while learning valuable skills they will learn more about on rotations. All equipment for the interactive activity will be provided by Dr. Risavi. A sign-up sheet will be provided for students to participate with a maximum of 30 students allowed to sign-up. Students will adhere to current COVID Regulations set by LECOM. Our Club Advisor, Dr. Risavi, has approved of the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Saturday November 11th in Pharmacy Lecture Hall A and the OPP Lab from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Cultural clubs will be making various food dishes to share with the LECOM community to foster community and camaraderie while also helping educate about the many cultures our students come from! Participating clubs include International Medicine, Spanish Club, American Medical Muslim Student Association, Student National Medical Association, and Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. We confirmed with Dupree that he is okay with individuals bringing in dishes and would be okay utilizing the Vora Lounge and attached the form he signed. We plan on having COVID precautions in place such as utilizing hand sanitizer and masking should it be needed. We also plan on making any allergen information regarding the dishes known to those who attend.

Mili Patel, OMS-III who received her training certification through Overdose Lifeline Inc., will be hosting the training over Zoom for clubs such as SSP, ACOS, SNMA, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and SOMA. The virtual nature of the event will help accommodate any potential COVID concerns that could arise during the Fall months. This event will certify students on the science behind this lifesaving drug and how to properly administer it which is a valuable skill to have in the growing opioid epidemic.

Our supplier/company is DE Sports Inc. out of Clarion, PA. T shirts would reflect the design attached to this form. We would like to offer both a short and long sleeve t shirt in a standard Gildan cotton t shirt in grey and navy blue colors. We believe that our costing will range between $10 and $12 and we would sell them with a $5 markup to help generate funds for our convocation trip planned for March 2024. We expect that our costing will go down with an increase quantity of shirts ordered. Our executive board will coordinate t-shirt orders during our regularly scheduled forums. We will take orders in person and via email from our members, collect funds in form of check/cash prior to placing the order with the company, and then distribute the apparel at one of our biweekly forums. Only members of the SAAO would be able to purchase the club shirt.

Not only will it be a great way for the club to expand its funds, but it will be held in honor of celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day. When This Will Occur: We have reserved September 14th with Chipotle, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Advertisement: A message will be sent out on behalf of the MSC to the MS1 and MS2 GroupMe chats, containing a short excerpt of the purpose of this fundraiser, the address, and time of occurrence about one week prior to the event. In addition, we are asking for Dr. Shabloski to send out a mass email containing the same information, in hopes to get the fundraiser more attention. Both forms of advertisement can be found on the next page of this document. Volunteers/Participants: The club is inviting everyone who attends or works at LECOM to join the celebration at Chipotle. Nevertheless, it is expected for approximately 15-40 students to partake in this fundraiser (hopefully more attend!).
