A minimum of one adult staff member from the YMCA (usually 2-3 are present on a regular basis however) will be present at every meeting to be in control and take responsibility for the program and children. The purpose of the presence of the LECOM students once a week at the Kid's Club, a site run by the YMCA off campus from LECOM, is to help mentor and facilitate personal growth in the children of the program. Wade, what it means to give power back to the state, and the professional ideologies surrounding pro-life and pro-choice. We will be using fact-based videos and professional guest speakers in hopes that our peers will take this information and make educated, and compassionate stances on the topic as future physicians. Who? Women's Health Club What? A Conversation about the Overturn of Roe V. Wade, 3 Guest Speakers, viewing of Dr. Francis' court approval of the overturn (5minutes). When? October 3rd @ 6pm Why? Our goal is to educate our peers so they can make informed stances as aspiring physicians. Event Plan: 1. Opening a. Women's Health club Eboard will present a brief PowerPoint i. All three are LECOM alumni/students: Kent Axcell (current MS4 and former radiology club president), Dr. Henry Wei (current resident at AHN), and Dr. Olivia Hallas (current resident at Cleveland Clinic). The goal is to have the speakers talk about why radiology may or may not be a good fit for you, and how to prepare for rotations and residency. Since the speakers have gone through the residency application process fairly recently, it should be a good opportunity to learn about what to expect from a first-hand account. The event will be over zoom and last no more than one hour.

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for LECOM MS1s and MS2s to hear from physicians about their specialties directly. The event is open to all LECOM students. Funding: No funding is necessary for this event. Covid Protocol: All attendees will be attending the event via zoom. Covid protocols of social distancing and hand sanitization will not be held in place. The general breakdown of the event will include a 15 minutes introduction from all of the physicians followed by a 30 minute Q&A. Each physician will have 5 minutes to introduce themselves during the first 15 minutes. They can discuss bread and butter cases, unique cases that appeared during practice, etc. During the 30 minute breakout room Q&A sessions, students may ask physicians specific specialty questions. We are utilizing the same design and logo that was approved for last year's jacket sale. I will inform the students of our fundraiser by sending out an email to our members, as well as posting in the class communication pages in case any student outside of ACOS is interested. The board will then disperse jackets out during a future meeting, lunch in the cafeteria, or offer shipping through the manufacturer. During the distribution of the jackets, the following COVID guidelines will be followed: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has ordered a jacket 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who pick up their jackets in person. 3.) We will require masks during distribution/pick-up 4.) We will sanitize the table before and after to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will divide the pickup time by last name to ensure there is no overcrowding, resulting in minimal exposure

The items selected for the event were voted on by the student body in a google form that was sent out in August. Items: 1. Pins for white coat 2. Pocket Medicine Book for Rotations 3. Skincare face mask 4. Sports Drinks 5. Scrub Caps 6. Retractable badges 7. Reusable Water bottles We will also give out snacks that were left over from our Welcome Fair. Prior Planning: Anthony Dicecca and Khin Oo will purchase/ order the items. Set up: SGA Board - Khin Oo, Anthony Dicecca, Tyler Dobratz, Serene Bahi, Ananya Koka, William Kim, and Abhay Dhillon will set up items in the Vora lounge at 11:30 am. All items are individually wrapped for COVID safety. Students will be able to come into the Vora lounge from 11:30 am - 1: 00 pm to choose their items (Maintaining social distancing and room capacity rules). Clean up at 1:00 pm. SGA Board - Khin Oo, Anthony Dicecca, Tyler Dobratz, Serene Bahi, Ananya Koka, William Kim, and Abhay Dhillon will clean up items and organize the room.

The event will allow students to gain insight into some helpful tips. The event will be on October 17th from 6 PM – 7 PM. The three MS3 students that have been selected are Ronnie Lott, Sam Wlasowicz, and Jayleen Everett. The selected students have been approved by Dr.Kalmey. A google form will be provided ahead of time for students to submit any questions they want to ask the presenters. This will be a great event for students to gain some insight from peers that very recently went through the process.

The voter registration would take place from September 30th, October 3rd & October 4th during lunch in the cafeteria (we can also move it to another week) and we would like to host an event for students called, "Voting As a Medical Student." via Zoom on October 19th at 6PM. Medical students and medical professionals are expected to be leaders in their communities. Civic engagement is part of leadership. SNMA has partnered with an organization called Vot-ER, founded by an emergency physician at Mass General Hospital. They focus on creating a stronger healthcare system by empowering patients, healthcare providers, and health professional students to vote. This work is particularly important given the impact of COVID. They have created a badge backer that makes it easy to have a person register to vote on their own phone or request a mail-in ballot to vote at home this election cycle. The platform walks them through either process in 90 seconds or less. Now, as ever, civic engagement is crucial to protecting and improving the health of the patients and communities we serve. Vot-ER is a strictly nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. And it is the individual who chooses to engage and does so on their own device. We simply aim to provide the tools for individuals to be engaged with the system and have a chance to make their voice heard on issues that matter to them. 	September 20, 2022 at 8:54 AM	Approved	Second Harvest Food Pantry Drive	SOMA	09/20/2022	10/24/2022	The Student Osteopathic Medical Association at LECOM is partnering with Second Harvest to sponsor a food drive for those in need in the local community in Erie. Students at LECOM will be donating non-perishable food items in a contactless manner. Food items to be collected include canned goods, pasta, and water. Donations will be collected by Health Disparities director Austen Rankin and dropped off at Second Harvest Food Bank in time for Thanksgiving. This drive will run from October 24- November 4th with a box left in the security office for donations. Community Outreach Directors Sam Teru and Paarth Sharma will be assisting in picking up the food several times so that food will not accumulate and crowd the security office. A sign-up sheet will be sent out prior to the event to specify what goods are needed to be donated. This event has been successful in the past years that it has been done, and we anticipate it being another success. Community service hours will be awarded, 0.5 hours per two items, for a maximum of 3 hours.

The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. The event would be held most likely at Hammocks clubhouse. There will be traditional indian snacks, music, and activities to symbolize the holiday. COVID Mitigation plan: 1. All participants will be required to wear masks 2. When eating people will be required to remain 6 feet away when taking off their masks 3. If people do not feel well or feel like they have a fever they will be requested not to come. 4. There will be an attendance sheet in place for people to sign in, in a case that contact tracing would be required. Veronica Li will be the contact person for the set up and tear down the the event. Dr. Razzaque has been contacted to attend the event. Since this is a public clubhouse for Hammocks residents, no confirmation is needed to book the area since it's a public space that rarely ever occupied. There will be light refreshments and snacks so nothing significant is happening to require any proper reservation of the area.

We will be joined by our speaker Kyabeth Torres-Rodriguez, a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, who will present her research on “The role of the MYCN oncogene in inducing immune evasion in neuroblastoma.” Academic Purpose: With the ever-changing advancements in scientific research, it's important as medical students to stay engaged in developing research topics; however, many may feel overwhelmed by the complexity of cancer research. We hope to give our student body an opportunity to explore a particular research topic and aim to spark interest in cancer research as a whole.

The Patagonia's allowed for custom embroidery and will feature the school crest logo (attached). Event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in Fall Semester. Remote Fundraiser - Pick Up location at school. A Google Form will be sent out as soon as this event is approved, and the sale will run through late October. The company we will be using is Thread fellows. Multiple types of Patagonia jackets will be offered, including vests, full zip jackets, and quarter zip jackets. Pick up will be COVID-safe in the LECOM cafeteria. People passing out jackets will be wearing masks and students picking up jackets will be required to wear masks.
	September 26, 2022 at 1:52 PM	Approved	Decompression Session: Painting and a Discussion on Barriers to Mental Health Care	Mental Health Task Force	09/26/2022	10/27/2022	This will be a painting session with a discussion on barriers to mental health care hosted by the SGA Mental Health Task Force that seeks to act as a place to decompress and engage in a hobby as stress relief practice, as well as a space to discuss mental health in medical students. Dr. Melanie Dunbar will be present for the duration of the meeting as a facilitator along with the members of the mental health task force. We know that medical students are more likely to live with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders (Maser et al., 2019), and that having discussions about our experiences works to destigmatize and reduce stress around seeking treatment (Hankier et al., 2014). An additional reason to have the coinciding painting session will give students a physical activity to focus on to make students feel more comfortable contributing to the discussion and sitting through silent periods. We will discuss different barriers that one might encounter to seeking mental health care, including cultural, geographical, financial, and other societal barriers. We will discuss stigma around mental health illness and treatments, including medications, and ways we can work to break down those stigmas. This will not be a therapy session, it will be a discussion on the difficulties medical students face and the associated stigma and barriers to mental health care. It will also be a place to remind students of the resources and support that they have available to them. This session will be held October 27th at 6pm in the Vora lounge. An RSVP form will be created to determine how many materials to purchase for the event. Materials will be purchased in bulk off Amazon, and unused materials will be saved for a future Goody bag event. Plastic tablecloths will be purchased to protect the tables, the paint will be washable for easy removal, and cleaning materials will be purchased to ensure that the lounge is left spotless after our session. We are limited to 25 students and are planning to charge $5 per person to cover costs and to fundraise for our club. We feel this event will provide a nice study break, as well as promote exercise and wellness. Please wear athletic clothing and proper footwear. COVID protocol - max 25 people (25% of full capacity), standing 6 feet apart for the duration of class.

Event Description: Part I: Dr. Sabirov and Dr. Coughlin will present a cardio/pulmonary case using a high-fidelity training mannequin. The case presentation will include prompts for students to take part in diagnosing and managing an emergent cardiology patient. Part II: Students will break off into groups of 5 and rotate through 4 task-trainer stations: a. Trans-thoracic echocardiogram b. CPR c. Med draw w/ IV administration d. Central line placement We would plan on two groups of 20 students, the first group coming at 6p and the second at 7p. COVID Mitigation Plan: All students attest to the absence of symptoms and/or exposure to COVID-19 prior to the event via online submission. All LECOM precautions will remain in place including temperature screening, face masks, and proper hand-hygiene. All training equipment will be properly sanitized before and after each student.

He also recently switched from trying to match into a Radiology residency into Dermatology, so he was going to speak about this change and information about audition rotations. We will also have an open Q&A with him afterwards for students that have questions about rotations and the change in Step 1/COMLEX 1 becoming pass/fail.
	October 3, 2022 at 9:32 AM	Approved	Ortho Club Chipotle Fundraiser	SAOAO	10/03/2022	11/16/2022	This event will be a fundraiser for the orthopedics club (SAOAO) to acquire funding to allow the club to hold suturing and a casting clinic later in the year. The club will send out information about the fundraiser code that participants will provide to allow their purchases to go toward supporting the club. Participants will also be able to use the code for online orders as well. Chipotle has approved the fundraiser which will be held at the Peach street Chipotle. On Nov. 16th anyone who goes into chipotle and tells the staff that they are participating in the fundraiser their purchase will count toward the event. There is also a code that people wishing to participate can enter for online orders to show that they are part of the fundraiser. The Club is not allowed to be onsite or advertise at the location during the fundraiser time. In order to advertise this event we will send out an email with the time and date asking people to support the club. Chipotle has provided an email address to help with any questions (fundraisers@chipotle.com).

Our Guest Speaker is Dr. Robert Bowers, who is a retired surgeon and have been involved with medical missionary trips in Africa and Bangladesh for 40 years. For this Guest Speaker Event, Dr. Bowers will give a PowerPoint presentation via Zoom to share with us his medical experiences overseas. This will be a great opportunity for medical students to gain insight of healthcare outside of the U.S as well as becoming more well-rounded in regards to patient care. In addition, students will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Bowers any questions they may have regarding international healthcare.
