Here kids make a short list of things they would like to get for Christmas and students who sign up get assigned a kid randomly for whom they buy a present for and with whom they interact/play with at the event. The price limit is set at $25 max per student and is volunteer only. This is an event loved by children and staff at the YMCA and is a big deal for the kids, one they look forward to all year! the gifts are given out by the volunteers who purchased them at our weekly volunteer sessions. We would like to offer 2.5 hours for total participation in the shopping for, organization of and participation in this event by the volunteers.

The event will allow students to gain insight into some helpful tips. The event will be on November 17th from 7 PM – 8 PM. The MS3 students that have been selected are listed below. A google form will be provided ahead of time for students to submit any questions they want to ask the presenters. This will be a great event for students to gain some insight from peers that very recently went through the process.

	November 29, 2022 at 3:26 PM	Cancelled	Holiday Card Drive for LECOM's SLC	SOMA	11/29/2022	12/05/2022	Proposed dates: Monday December 5th through Friday December 9th Idea: SOMA will be putting together a Christmas Card Drive. Cards will be made by students to bring joy to residents, so these cards will include writing from students. Students will make or fill out cards to be distributed to SLC Residents. This will be a contactless event, and we propose having collection boxes near the security doors. Students will be able to leave their cards for collection. Cards will be picked up at the end of the drive by Paarth Sharma or Co-Chair Smaran Teru. We will advertise this event to the entire Class of 2025 and class of 2026, so they are able to participate. Cards should be dropped off at the security office or at Colleen's desk on the second floor. This will be done in a contact-free manner. As has been done in other clubs, service hours will be provided with 3 cards = 1 hour of service. Cards will be dropped off at the LECOM Living Center - coordinated with Emily Carver - ecarver@lecomslc.org. Why: SOMA wants to create a COVID-safe opportunity for students to get involved in the Erie community. Having this card drive creates an event that allows LECOM students to reach out and be involved with the school and community. As this event has been very successful in the past, and Dr. Silvia Ferretti commented on what a nice event it was last year when we had the cards at Colleen’s desk, we really would like the opportunity to have it again. Here is the request for the drive that was approved last year: Idea: SOMA will be putting together a Holiday Card drive. This will be a contactless event, and we propose having collection boxes at the entrance to Main Campus. Students will be able to leave the cards for collection. Items will be picked up at the end of the drive by myself (Ellie Schommer) or Co-Chair Garrett Kettle. We will advertise this event to the entire Class of 2024 and class of 2025 so they are able to participate. At the conclusion of the drive, I will arrange a date and time to drop off the supplies to St. Mary’s Senior Living Center. This will be done in a contact-free manner. Why: SOMA wants to create a COVID-safe opportunity for students to get involved in the Erie community. Having this drive creates an event for LECOM students to reach out and be involved with the Erie community. They have done amazing work and have made a difference in the lives of roughly 10,000 individuals yearly. Their mission is to enable, educate and empower the visually impaired through supporting, motivating, and mobilizing preeminent eye hospitals, blind schools, vision professionals, technology innovators, governments and nongovernmental organizations serving the underprivileged segments of Indian society. Through mentorship, 2nd year students can offer valuable insights, advice, and encouragement to their 1st year mentees, helping them navigate the challenges of the curriculum, develop effective study strategies, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, the mentorship training program fosters a sense of camaraderie, creating a supportive network where 1st year students feel comfortable seeking guidance and mentorship from their more experienced peers. Ultimately, the program aims to enhance the overall academic success, personal growth, and professional development of both 1st and 2nd year medical students, while fostering a collaborative and nurturing learning environment within the medical school community. Funding: No funding is needed for this event. The general breakdown of the event will include me presenting the mentorship training PowerPoint to prospective mentors for 30-45 minutes. Afterwards, I will address any questions the mentors have.

Afterwards, I will address any questions the mentors have. 	August 18, 2023 at 1:31 PM	Cancelled	Intubation Clinic - Dr. Risavi	Emergency Medicine	08/18/2023	11/11/2023	We would like to give our members the opportunity to participate in an intubation clinic run by Dr. Risavi, our club advisor. Dr. Risavi would like to come in on a Saturday to talk to EM club members about respiratory emergencies and intubation as an important clinical skill. There will be a presentation to discuss the importance of airway management, and to familiarize students with protocols and techniques. There will then be a hands-on learning opportunity for students to participate in practicing intubation techniques. It will give our members the chance to interact with one another while learning valuable skills they will learn more about on rotations. All equipment for the interactive activity will be provided by Dr. Risavi. A sign-up sheet will be provided for students to participate with a maximum of 30 students allowed to sign-up. Students will adhere to current COVID Regulations set by LECOM. Our Club Advisor, Dr. Risavi, has approved of the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Saturday November 11th in Pharmacy Lecture Hall A and the OPP Lab from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
	August 25, 2023 at 1:06 PM	Cancelled	FM Forum - Hosting Dr. Melodie Chludzinski	Family Medicine Club	08/25/2023	09/20/2023	Dr. Melodie Chludzinski has agreed to talk to students about what a day in her life looks/looked like as a practicing osteopathic family medicine physician. The goal of this forum is to show students interested in family medicine the wide range of options they can have when they choose to specialize in family medicine. After she gives them a look into what her daily life looks/looked like she is willing to hold a Q&A in regards to being an osteopathic family medicine physician. At this event we would like to serve Mighty Fine Donuts and have canned soda/ water available for our attendees. We also have free SAACOFP pens and other trinkets that we would like to give out to people in attendance in hopes of gaining more members. The event would be on September 20th 2023 from 5:30 - 7:30 in Vora lounge. The people distributing the donuts would wear gloves when passing them out.

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for LECOM MS1s and MS2s to hear from physicians about their specialties directly. The event is open to all LECOM students. Funding: No funding is necessary for this event. The general breakdown of the event will include a 30 minute introduction from the physicians. They can discuss bread and butter cases, unique cases that appeared during practice, etc. In the last 30 minutes, students may ask specific specialty questions. SGA board members will assist in leading the Q&A panels.

Dr. D'Amico is a Philadelphia College Of Osteopathic Medicine graduate who completed his residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. D'Amico is going to speak to club members about his path to cardiology and the field of cardiology. Club members will be able to ask questions to Dr. D'Amico about his journey or his advice as well. Attendees will follow whatever COVID protocols are in place at the time of the event. Our speaker is also our advisor, so he will be in attendance as well.

The purpose of this dinner would be to offer a relaxed environment that the current executive board and forum writers could meet with the newly voted executive board and forum writers to foster a seamless transition/changing of the guard. At this dinner, new ideas for the 2024-2025 academic year will be discussed, forum writers can work together to share tips on how to lead successful forums and retain members. We would also like to invite several faculty members to this dinner to encourage conversation about osteopathy in practice, tips for board studying and rotations, and convocation preparation. We would like to invite Dr. Stephany, Dr. Erik Esper, Dr. Hendryx, Dr. Balmer, Dr. Cukierkski, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Chludzinski, and Dr. Rowane to name a few. We have 35 members planning on attending convocation in March so this would also be a great way to build excitement for this trip. We are really hoping this dinner can serve as a "Jump Start" to the new year with the new chapter leadership and also jumpstart our trip to Colorado Springs. We are allocating $350 for this dinner to offset costs of food for the members in attendance. Any costs of food over this amount will be assumed by the individuals there in attendance. This dinner will be open to the old and new exec board members, old and new forum writers, and members attending convocation in March.
