Educational Purpose: This panel will highlight the physicians’ unique journeys through medical school, residency, and fellowship, offering insight into the different pathways to a career in pediatric allergy and immunology. Following their talks, the doctors will answer student questions about their field and experiences. The event will be held over Zoom on October 21st at 7:00pm
November 21, 2025 at 9:12 AMCompleteSOMA Fall Patagonia SaleSOMA11/21/202508/04/2026Due to the continued success of the Patagonia sale on our campus, and after being approached by multiple students asking to have the sale again, LECOM Erie SOMA would like to host a Fall Patagonia sale. The Patagonia's will allow for custom embroidery and will feature the school crest logo (attached). The event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in the early fall semester. A Google Form will be sent out upon event approval, and the sale will run from August into September. This event is also a crucial fundraising effort that significantly reduces travel stress for both the President and NLO's mandatory 3 conference attendance. Multiple types of Patagonia jackets will be offered, including vests, full zip jackets, and quarter zip jackets. Pick up will be at the school in the cafeteria.

The small equipment package will include a Dejerine Reflex Hammer, C128 Tuning Fork, C512 Tuning Fork, Penlight, Rosenbaum Pocket Eye Chart, Hospital Gown, Draping Sheet, and optional Professional Embroidered Doctor Bag. The sale will be through Steeles Supply Company. The sale will be completed via an online link: https://www.steeles.com/products/lecom-soma-student-discount-order-form where students can choose what they would like to buy and then pay for the purchase online with credit or debit card. The order will be a bulk order, shipped to the school and then be dispersed to the students. The link, along with a description of the products, will be sent to students via email to let them know of the sale.

She is the President of the ACOEP and Director of Osteopathic Medical Education at Crozer Keystone Health System.

The purpose of Stop the Bleed is to be able to react in a mass casualty situation to control bleeding at the scene. Students will obtain tools from "Stop the Bleed" in order to effectively teach the students. Amanda Lencyk from Mercy Hospital in Ohio will bring the equipment for the event at Gannon on 10/23 at 6pm. Zach Weisner, MS-II has a confirmation email from Ms. Lencyk stating she will be supplying the mannequins, PowerPoint presentation, and sign up sheets.

This event is open to the entire student body. We will be picking road signs, gloves, garbage bags, and safety vests from PennDOT, meet at Zuck park, and spend a few hours walking the length of W. Grandview Blvd. We will be picking up debris to the enhance the appearance of the roadway and improve the health of individuals and wildlife that traverse Grandview Blvd. Filled garbage will be picked up by PennDOT the next day. Coffee and donuts will be provided to participants.

The H&P required items are all located in the package and include: reflex hammer, tuning forks, penlight, eye chart, hospital gown, and draping sheet. We will also sell an equipment bag and Maxwell Pocket Reference as optional items. The company we will be using is Steele's Supply Company. We have already contacted the company and gotten an estimate on how much everything will cost. Kit = $26.70 (includes 2 tuning forks, Dejerine hammer, Rosenbaum eye chart, penlight) Medical reference book = $8.95 Total = $35.65 Bag = $50 (initials for free) Additional $7 for full name (The LECOM logo will also be on the front of the bag) Attached is the order form that will go out to first year students. Once the equipment comes in we will distribute it in the cafeteria. Last year the Small Equipment was distributed on November 29th and barring any delivery issues we are expecting the same time frame for this year.

The Erie County Medical Society will be supplying equipment for "Stop the Bleed" and students will be assisting in teaching the public.

Volunteers encourage kids to get healthy by working at stations to teach them about nutrition, dental health, self-esteem and more. Children are also encouraged to play games that get them up and moving. Events are run several times of the year.

This first registration day will be marketed primarily for the OMS1 students. We intend to have multiple days (TBD) for each program (i.e. OMS2, P1/P2), aiming for maximal participation without overwhelming the only representative from Be The Match who is capable of accepting swabs and signing off on paperwork.

Each student will be provided with their own suture gel pad and equipment that they make take with them for additional practice. We will continue to use Vora Lounge for the hand-tying portion of the clinic, directly following the dinner portion of the meeting. We would like to use the Micro lab for the actual suturing portion of the clinic.

The CEO of Voices for Independence (VFI), Shona Eakins, will come and give a presentation about has as future providers we can provide care that is accessible to people with all ranges of abilities. Three nurses who work at VFI will attend the event with her to demonstrate how to use a hoyer lift to transport people with physical diabilities. All in all, this event will be a way for students to learn about how to better care for this population of people.
