The event follows an administrative update at 11am on the same day, meaning that class members of all pathways will be present on campus and free to attend. The event will take place in the Cafeteria and Vora Lounge where food will be distributed. Purpose: We would like to host an event to celebrate the end of the Class of 2028’s first academic year at LECOM. The event will be a chance for MS1s to take a mental health break right before finals week and an opportunity to build community between our classmates of different pathways. We would like to provide food at this celebration, and the details for food items and distribution are outlined below. Setup/Cleanup: The Class Board will coordinate with Dupree in dining to assure that the cafeteria staff are aware of the event’s use of the cafeteria and the date/time. The use of serving utensils from the cafeteria will also be requested. Napkins will be provided using the supplies that were bought for our last event and are currently stored in Dr. Shabloski’s office. The Class Board will reach out to Manny in maintenance to coordinate cleanup in the cafeteria following the event. Any food that is left over at the conclusion of the event will be free for students to bring home to ensure there is no food waste. We will order from Mighty Fine Donuts to support local Erie businesses. Mighty Fine Donuts is a bakery that has been mentioned many times throughout our lectures and classes, and we would like to give students in our class the opportunity to try it. The donuts will be picked up in the morning and we will coordinate with Dupree in dining to store the donuts in the cafe until the start of the event. We will order 12.5 dozen assorted donuts for $169.25.

I believe that this event presents as a meaningful opportunity for our club members to gather and support the greater Erie community. It also helps raise awareness and educate the public on Alzheimer’s, a pertinent disease that we will for sure be encountering in both our didactic and clinical education. The fundraiser walk will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 and will be located at Perry Square, Erie, PA. Volunteers will help with set-up, passing out refreshments, help with advocacy efforts, and cheer along walk participants. The volunteering period will span from 7:00am - 11am. The fundraiser walk will take place on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, and will be located at Penn State Behrend - Junker Center Parking Lot 5285 Station Rd, Erie, PA 16510. I believe this event offers a valuable opportunity for our club members to come together in support of the greater Erie community. It also serves to raise awareness and educate the public about Huntington’s disease, a complex neurodegenerative condition that we’ve heavily focused upon in our neuroanatomy courses. Through what we’ve learned, we’ve deepened our understanding of the challenges faced not only by patients, but by their families as well. Through this event, we hope to extend our support to those in the Erie community and show that they’re not alone in their efforts. The fundraiser walk will take place on Saturday September 27, 2025 and will be located at Presque Isle State Park, Beach 1. Volunteers will help with set-up, basket raffles, registration, advocacy efforts, cheering on walk/run participants, and clean up. The volunteering period will span from 6:30AM to 12PM, with each volunteer working a minimum of 2 hour shifts.

December 26, 2025 at 8:50 AMExpiredStudent OMM ClinicSAAO12/26/202501/07/2026I. Purpose Students will gain hands-on experience interacting with patients and apply osteopathic manipulative medicine techniques to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal dysfunctions. II. Background Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Erie campus) is renowned for its osteopathic medical education. Despite its strong educational framework, there is a lack of extracurricular opportunities to interact directly with patients during the preclinical years, which would be essential for medical student professional development and preparation for clerkship years. This lack of accessible clinical experiences prompted the idea for this clinic. It aims to bridge the gap by offering real-world practice opportunities for osteopathic medical students. Exposure to osteopathic manipulative treatment in practice can reinforce their understanding and appreciation of osteopathic principles, thereby fostering a deeper commitment to the methods and practices they are taught. Furthermore, the establishment of this clinic is not only beneficial for the students but also for the community. It provides an essential service to underserved populations, improving healthcare access and outcomes. By integrating osteopathic practices into community healthcare, the clinic promotes the growth and recognition of osteopathy as a vital component of modern medicine. III. Goals and Objectives  Goals: 1. Create a dynamic learning environment where osteopathic medical students can apply their knowledge and hone their clinical skills under the guidance of experienced DOs. 2. Implement best practices for clinic administration, including efficient patient flow, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with healthcare regulations. 3. Provide accessible, high-quality osteopathic manipulative treatment to underserved populations, improving overall health outcomes within the community. 4. Position the clinic as a leading example of osteopathic care within the community, fostering greater acceptance and utilization of osteopathic medical practices.  Objectives: 1. Enhance community health by providing osteopathic manipulative treatment to 10 patients per clinic session. 2. Organize 1 clinic session per month, potentially increasing the number of monthly sessions after the first year. IV. Description  Duration: Each clinic visit will span approximately one hour, allowing time for students and preceptors to engage in practice and patient care.  Location: On campus or Plaza 38 Medical Center  Patient visit: • Mass emails will be sent to invite LECOM faculty, staff, and students as clinic patients. • Prior to each clinic session, all students will participate in preparatory sessions. These sessions will ensure uniformity in approach and readiness among students. • Patient records will be kept as e-charts • One first-year and one second-year student will work together for each visit: o First-year student: Observes and assists with documentation o Second-year student: Conducts history/physical examination, formulates diagnoses, and develops a treatment plan based on findings • The attending physician reviews the students' findings and guides the treatment process. They will provide feedback and reassessment of patient dysfunctions. • The second-year student will perform osteopathic manipulative treatments on the patient and reassess dysfunctions with the attending physician. • Plan for future visit Clinic dates for The 2026 academic year are as follows: 1/7, 2/4, 3/4, 4/1, 5/6. Students will arrive to the clinic by 17:00 to prepare for patients to arrive at 17:30 for the start of the clinic.
