	November 7, 2022 at 9:28 AM	Expired	ACOS: Suturing Clinic Series	ACOS-MSS	11/07/2022	12/02/2022	ACOS-MSS would like to provide the opportunity for interested students to continue strengthening their suturing skills while ensuring that all COVID protocols are thoroughly followed. Students will be using a Medarchitect suture kit that we annually provide for our members. The kit includes a silicone pad, curved mosquito forceps, Hecar needle holder, Adson forceps, surgical scissors, scalpel handle w/ blades, and a variety of suturing materials. Students will not be using a scalpel at any point during the workshop. A Sharp’s container will be present to collect disposed suturing needles. Additionally, I will ensure that a first aid kit is available in case any needle poke injuries occur. Dr. Falk is looking into getting pig's feet for the event but this is not finalized yet, so we will be planning on using the suturing pads. If pig's feet are available, we will have disposable placemats and disinfecting wipes to thoroughly clean the lab tables afterward. The event details are as follows: December 2nd from 5pm-7:30pm: Suturing clinic (Microbiology lab) led by Dr. Chludzinski with the assistance of Dr. Falk and additional faculty. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the suturing clinic 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the suturing clinic and mentorship discussion to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending The educational purpose of this event is to continue to build upon the suturing techniques introduced to students so that they are well-versed in knowledge and skill for their surgery rotation.

Dr. Stull is a LECOM graduate and current physician within the Medical Associates of Erie. The anticipated event will be held on January 9th from 5:30-7pm in Lecture Hall D. Our advisor, Dr. Melodie Chludzinski will be present. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who attends the guest lecturer event 2.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 3.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending The educational purpose of this event is to expose students to a critical aspect of primary care, OBGYN. As some students may not have been exposed to this specialty yet, this will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to engage with and learn from a practicing OBGYN within the LECOM Health system.

In addition, we hope to apply the Class of 2025's available budget of $5,000 alongside a supplemental $2,000 from SGA for a total of $7,000 towards the group discount purchase. To receive the institutional discount, SGA will gather funds from the students directly and complete a purchase order. This will be done via PNC's Zelle deposits directly to the SGA account or check. If all the slots are not taken, some of the SGA funds will be unused since students are already paying a higher rate. This process will avoid overdrafting our funds. I thank the administration for their generosity in helping our students attain studying resources that are almost essential for board studying.

Additionally, they will share their expertise in billing. The panel will be followed by a Q&A session. Pizza will also be served to help promote SAACOFP to students and recruit new members. The pizza will be served in the cafeteria. We will be purchasing pizza from Valerio’s Pizza and will submit a reimbursement form. For safe distribution, we will make sure that the pizza is precut. Additionally, we will have one person distributing the slices while wearing cloves and a mask. All beverages will be individually packaged.

We decided to go forward with a guest speaker for our event and change the location. The guest speaker is Dr. Salman Muazzam Muddassir, the program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program from Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, FL. He will be joining us through Zoom to provide us with some words on Islam in Medicine. His contact information and CV are attached to this request and the new location is updated. During the Islamic month called Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset for 30 days and end with a celebration called Eid ul Fitr. We would like to host this celebration on April 28th at 7:00 PM at the Hammocks at Millcreek (4554 Hammocks Dr, Erie, PA 16506). We will be catering food from an outside vendor for dinner and are planning on charging $10 per person to help cover some of the expenses, and would like to use our budget to cover the remaining expenses. Educational purpose: Educate the campus about Eid traditions, celebrate an important Muslim holiday, and help diversify the community COVID mitigation plan: The event will take place in a space big enough for people to be spread out and mask enforcement will be followed based on the COVID case numbers. Vendor choices: As-Salam, Cleveland Grocers, Desi Khabba, or Paradise Biryani Pointe (we have not decided on a restaurant yet but these are our options)
	June 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM	Expired	Anki Clinic	LECOM Med Erie - SGA	06/12/2023	07/20/2023	Purpose: Anki is flashcard service that many utilize during medical school. The flashcard service is free to use and utilizes a technique called spaced repetition to help students learn and reinforce material. Despite flashcards being common in undergraduate, Anki is not heavily utilized until medical school. The purpose of this clinic is to teach any student the basic ins and outs of the flashcard service. I believe this will be an invaluable resource because many students may try using Anki when medical school starts; however, it takes time to actually learn how the system works. By giving them a preface on how to use the system, it means less of their time will be used on learning the system when the semester started. To lead this clinic, I have contacted Sam Wlasowicz a current OMS-IV. He won the Mr. Anki award 3 years ago, and has already led an Anki Clinic before with some success. I have already talked with him about what I would like him to focus on: basic use of Anki, different styles of Anki (cloze function vs. image occlusion vs. simple flashcards), etc. Funding: None Needed Timeline: I have already contacted Sam several times to ensure he has everything he needs, but I will contact him a week before the event to sure everything is okay. On the day of the event, I will start the Zoom meeting at 6:45 PM and the event will start promptly at 7:00. The clinic should take no longer than an hour to an hour and a half. No clean-up time is needed as the event is over Zoom.

We are opening up assistance in preparation for the mock exam to SSP so that MS2s can gain volunteer hours for their time. The written component will take place in the Cadaver lab while the oral will be held in the cafeteria. We will also be having a PBL mock practical at the same time happening in Lecture Hall C. The educational purpose of this event is to prepare MS1's for their first anatomy practical. It will be performed exactly as the real practical to allow students to gauge their level of understanding of the material. The following COVID-19 protocol will be strictly followed (if mandated at the time of the event): 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic--both volunteers and attendees 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the mock practical 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the exam to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending 7.) The organizers of the event are calling for as many volunteers as possible to help with "set-up, clean-up, registration, water stops, Promise Garden and so much more" for their upcoming event (Walk to End Alz website). I think this would be a great opportunity for the members of the NeuroPsych club to give back to the community and engage in a population of folks we are sure to encounter as future Neurologists/Psychiatrists. Also, as a LECOM health sponsored event it would be a pleasure to show our bright smiling faces to the people of Erie. The site coordinator and contact for the Walk to End Alz is as follows: Sr. Director of Development, Sara Giammarise \| 814-636-6390 \| sgiammarise@alz.org As far as COVID mitigation is concerned, this is an outdoor event and we will practice social distancing as much as possible. I will make sure the club provides hand sanitizer for at least our members if none is already available on-site.

They are looking for new underwear for men and women, T-shirts for men and women, and socks. We will provide a box in the main lobby to collect the goods, and send out an excel sheet for people to sign up to bring items. People may donate up to 4 items for up to 2 service hours total, each item being .5 service hours. We will do a contactless delivery of products to mitigate COVID.

The first aim is to introduce our SOMA chapter constituents to resolution writing, and the process of advocacy possible to members enlisted in SOMA. This will entail a mock writing session centered around a light-hearted topic, overseen by SOMA Chapter Leaders, which may help spark debate and conversation, so that processes of argumentative writing are established, and constituents understand how and why we write resolutions in the set format. The second aim of this event is to initiate conversation between students to help establish comradery between incoming first year medical students, and between classes, so that we may help facilitate an idealism that truly, Osteopathic Medicine is a community.
