We will begin taking orders as soon as approval is granted until mid-September. We will then order pins, and distribute them by mail once shipped. The pins will be sold for $5 each, with an expected profit of 30 cents per pin for Oncology Club. We do not expect to gain much money from this; the point is raising awareness. As such, we will include a small breast cancer fact/prevention/screening sheet with each pin in the package.

SOMA will extend the mentoring capacity of the MS1/MS2 Big/Little program to students on the Elmira campus. The MS1/MS2 Big/Little Program is an opportunity for MS1 students to receive guidance and mentorship from the MS2 students. MS1 students are matched with an MS2 mentor to help them throughout the school year. SOMA sends monthly check-ins with bigs and littles to assess how the program is going and to make improvements throughout the year. Contact between Bigs and Littles will be permitted only through Zoom, Skype, Facetime, phone calls, and E-mail. There will be no in-person interaction between Bigs and Littles.

The event lasts throughout the month of September, coinciding with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every Tuesday, there are fun/interactive social media challenges to raise awareness for the cause, as well as encourage followers to donate to our LECOM Oncology team. All proceeds will directly benefit pediatric cancer causes (including childhood cancer research and physician education). The LECOM Oncology club is asking permission to create a LECOM team and raise money for a great cause!

Each MS1 will just join 1 of 60 unique google meeting links and the MS2 responsible for that link will ask them a set of oral questions. Next, they will give them quick feedback. Dr. Kulesza has okayed the set up and supplied the questions for everything. Dr. Jung is also aware of the event.

The purpose of this event is for students to explore the connections they might have with people they wouldn't normally interact with. The event will consist of two parts. Part one: participating COM students will be placed into randomized groups led by group leaders to ensure everyone participates in sharing contacts in fields their peers may be interested in. Part two: participating COM students will informally mingle, explore, and build on the connections they made in part one. This will facilitate exchange of useful information between classmates.
