We are opening up assistance in preparation for the mock exam to SSP so that MS2s can gain volunteer hours for their time. The written component will take place in the Cadaver lab while the oral will be held in the study rooms 1-5. We will also be having a PBL mock practical at the same time happening in case room 117. The educational purpose of this event is to prepare MS1's for their anatomy practical. It will be performed exactly as the real practical to allow students to gauge their level of understanding of the material. The following COVID-19 protocol will be strictly followed (if mandated at the time of the event): 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic--both volunteers and attendees 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the mock practical 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the exam to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending 7.) We will keep attendees in smaller groups by generating different start times for their exam
	August 5, 2023 at 2:36 PM	Approved	Weekly Mentoring Club Volunteering	Mentoring	08/05/2023	10/05/2023	After a small hiatus due to the Kids Club being temporally closed, Mentoring Club is officially been greenlit by the YMCA to return to the Kids Club at Erie Heights/Gardenview from September 5th onward! We are formally submitting our annual request to resume weekly volunteering with the kids on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30, starting October 5th. One adult staff member from the YMCA (usually 2-3 are present on a regular basis) will be present at every meeting to be in control and take responsibility for the program and children. The purpose of the presence of the LECOM students once a week at the Kids Club is to help mentor and facilitate personal growth in the children of the program. We intend on continuing our weekly activities of fun & games while also maintaining a positive atmosphere for everyone to feel safe & welcomed by those from LECOM. Clearances for PA mandated state laws, including required background check, can be obtained via this link: https://ymcaerie.volunteermatters.org/project-catalog/45 Clearances come back within 2 hours after registration, so students intending to volunteer should have all forms completed prior to arriving at the Y in a quick, timely manner. 	August 15, 2023 at 11:06 AM	Approved	Donation Drive for SafeNet	Family Medicine Club	08/15/2023	10/01/2023	We would like to give our members the opportunity to participate in a donation drive to benefit the organization SafeNet. SafeNet provides support to people impacted by domestic violence. They need items such as welcome teddy bears for children, clothing, toiletries, etc. We will run a donation drive that allows members to donate to this critical organization and support the community. The drive involves students signing up on an excel spreadsheet for the items they would like to donate from October 1st- 13th. We would then provide a bin for the students to drop off their donations from October 16th- 20th. The donation bin will be left near the security office, and emptied as it fills to ensure enough space for donations to be left in the bin. For participating in the drive we will offer 1 service hour for every 2 items a student donates, with each student able to earn a maximum of 2 service hours. Students will be dropping off donations to the bin located in the LECOM building and therefore adhere to LECOM COVID mitigation policies. All correspondence for the event will be done through email and E-Board members will drop off the items to SafeNet at 1702 French Street in Erie once the drive is over. 	September 6, 2023 at 2:41 PM	Approved	Charity Miles Fundraiser	Christian Medical and Dental Association	09/06/2023	10/01/2023	CMDA is doing a fundraiser event for the entire month of October to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project, which is an organization dedicated to helping veterans recover from physical and mental wounds that they suffer from as a result of service to our country. Charity Miles is an app that you download on your phone, which raises money as you walk, run, or bike. The more miles you do, the more money is raised for Wounded Warrior Project. We are also going to send out a form for the people who are interested in participating, and then on the first day of the event we are going to send out the team name for everyone to join and then start walking, running, or biking. Everything is done on the app called Charity Miles, and the money is sent to the charity directly through the app. The participants will just make an account, join our team, and then work out on their own to raise money for the charity. This event will be done entirely on the participants' own time and can be joined from any location, so no COVID mitigation protocols are necessary.
	July 26, 2023 at 10:33 AM	Rejected	Presque Isle Clean Up Series	ACOS-MSS	07/26/2023	09/30/2023	ACOS, SOMA and Sports Medicine have partnered to put together a Presque Isle clean up volunteering event for all MS1 and MS2 students. This event would be through Adopt A Beach which is an organization through Pennsylvania that does monthly beach clean ups. They have specific days and beaches they clean, but for groups that cannot make those dates, they allow them to pick up supplies and assign them a beach. There will be a sign-up sheet and I will pick up the necessary supplies prior to the event (trash bags, gloves etc.). They will also assign us a specific beach (6, 8, 10 or 11) based on their needs at that time. We would like to do two clean up days this semester - September 30th and October 21st from 9am-11am. This event would provide students with an opportunity to give back to their community and help keep our beaches clean. Our counterparts in Elmira recently had a similar event which was a success, and we are hoping to continue to give back here in Erie. These hours will also count towards touch point hours, LECOM hours and SSP hours. Our hope is that we can establish a relationship with Adopt A Beach and continue these events in the spring as well. The educational purpose of this event is to continue to build connections within the community and to give back to Erie. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the event 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the event 3.) We will sanitize before and after the suturing clinic and mentorship discussion to avoid the potential spread of COVID 4.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending. 5.) Masks and social distancing will be implemented in accordance with LECOM protocol
	September 4, 2023 at 7:08 PM	Approved	Volunteering at Men's Day Retreat 2023	Christian Medical and Dental Association	09/04/2023	09/30/2023	CMDA members are planning to volunteer at Acts 2:42 Bible Fellowship for their men’s retreat on Saturday, 09/30/2023. Acts 2:42 Bible Fellowship is a Christian church organization in Erie, Pennsylvania and they hold a Men's Day/Retreat every year in the fall. For this year's event, we are going to help set up tables and tents outside, and help with clean up during and after the event. We will be having two shifts. The first shift is from 8:00- 9:30 am. The second shift will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. We discussed the event with the Pastor of the church and he is very enthusiastic about us helping out. Thank you.

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for LECOM MS1s and MS2s to hear from physicians about their specialties directly. The event is open to all LECOM students. Funding: No funding is necessary for this event. The general breakdown of the event will include a 30 minute introduction from the physicians. They can discuss bread and butter cases, unique cases that appeared during practice, etc. In the last 30 minutes, students may ask specific specialty questions. SGA board members will assist in leading the Q&A panels.

Tried submitting event request end of June but LECOM SGA form website was not working on LECOM anesthesiology account. Note: COVID mitigation plan- food will be handled by chipotle, Erie county current cases of COVID-19 are low.

Dr. D'Amico is a Philadelphia College Of Osteopathic Medicine graduate who completed his residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. D'Amico is going to speak to club members about his path to cardiology and the field of cardiology. Club members will be able to ask questions to Dr. D'Amico about his journey or his advice as well. Attendees will follow whatever COVID protocols are in place at the time of the event. Our speaker is also our advisor, so he will be in attendance as well.

It will be a great opportunity to introduce them to OMM and to foster collaboration when they become practicing professionals. We plan to give a brief introduction to OMM and then diagnose and treat them afterwards. All of this will be supervised by a faculty member from the OPP department. COVID mitigation plan: We will follow the protocols set out by the school. And there are hand sanitizers available for use throughout the OPP lab.

Mili Patel, OMS-III who received her training certification through Overdose Lifeline Inc., will be hosting the training over Zoom for clubs such as SSP, ACOS, SNMA, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and SOMA. The virtual nature of the event will help accommodate any potential COVID concerns that could arise during the Fall months. This event will certify students on the science behind this lifesaving drug and how to properly administer it which is a valuable skill to have in the growing opioid epidemic.

The organizers of the event are calling for as many volunteers as possible to help with "set-up, clean-up, registration, water stops, Promise Garden and so much more" for their upcoming event (Walk to End Alz website). I think this would be a great opportunity for the members of the NeuroPsych club to give back to the community and engage in a population of folks we are sure to encounter as future Neurologists/Psychiatrists. Also, as a LECOM health sponsored event it would be a pleasure to show our bright smiling faces to the people of Erie. The site coordinator and contact for the Walk to End Alz is as follows: Sr. Director of Development, Sara Giammarise \| 814-636-6390 \| sgiammarise@alz.org As far as COVID mitigation is concerned, this is an outdoor event and we will practice social distancing as much as possible. I will make sure the club provides hand sanitizer for at least our members if none is already available on-site.

Cultural clubs will be making various food dishes to share with the LECOM community to foster community and camaraderie while also helping educate about the many cultures our students come from! Participating clubs include International Medicine, Spanish Club, American Medical Muslim Student Association, Student National Medical Association, and Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. We confirmed with Dupree that he is okay with individuals bringing in dishes and would be okay utilizing the Vora Lounge and attached the form he signed. We plan on having COVID precautions in place such as utilizing hand sanitizer and masking should it be needed. We also plan on making any allergen information regarding the dishes known to those who attend.

The goal of this forum is to show students interested in family medicine the wide range of options they can have when they choose to specialize in family medicine. After she gives them a look into what her daily life looks/looked like she is willing to hold a Q&A in regards to being an osteopathic family medicine physician. At this event we would like to serve Mighty Fine Donuts and have canned soda/ water available for our attendees. We also have free SAACOFP pens and other trinkets that we would like to give out to people in attendance in hopes of gaining more members. The event would be on September 20th 2023 from 5:30 - 7:30 in Vora lounge. The people distributing the donuts would wear gloves when passing them out.

The money raised will be put toward snacks and refreshments for any future workshops or fun activities held by the club, meetings, and for giving out goodies for club fair day. Not only will it be a great way for the club to expand its funds, but it will be held in honor of celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day. When This Will Occur: We have reserved September 14th with Chipotle, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Advertisement: A message will be sent out on behalf of the MSC to the MS1 and MS2 GroupMe chats, containing a short excerpt of the purpose of this fundraiser, the address, and time of occurrence about one week prior to the event. In addition, we are asking for Dr. Shabloski to send out a mass email containing the same information, in hopes to get the fundraiser more attention. Both forms of advertisement can be found on the next page of this document. Volunteers/Participants: The club is inviting everyone who attends or works at LECOM to join the celebration at Chipotle. Nevertheless, it is expected for approximately 15-40 students to partake in this fundraiser (hopefully more attend!). COVID Mitigation Plan: Since this will take place within Chipotle, the COVID mitigation plan is to abide by the restrictions Erie is currently implementing at the time of the fundraiser. If masks are not required at the time, then all attendees that are exhibiting any COVID-related symptoms are expected to wear a mask or to not participate for the health of everyone else. Education Purpose: To build camaraderie and foster an altruistic spirit amongst our classmates, while becoming educated on the needs of our local community. She will be sharing her journey throughout medical school, including in the classroom, rotations, and the surgery residency process. There will also be a Q&A portion of the event at the end of the talk. Educational purpose: the educational purpose of this event is to provide a first-hand perspective from a recent graduate who is able to closely relate to the ACOS members. This will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to engage with Dr. Bennett and ask questions about how she approached her medical school career. COVID mitigation protocols: this meeting will be held on zoom.
