It will take place on Monday, February 24th, 2024, in the LECOM atrium from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Event Details: • Purpose: Recognizing the invaluable contributions of student volunteers and celebrating their positive impact on the community. • Guests: A total of 35 individuals will be personally invited for their service, with the option to bring one guest each. Including SGA members and staff, we anticipate no more than 100 attendees. • RSVP: An RSVP form will be distributed, with responses due by February 20th, 2024. Final guest counts will be shared with Dr. Shablowski, and Dr. Thielman for logistical arrangements and Chef Dupree for refreshments. • Documentation: Social media will be contacted so she can take photos and videos for the event • Volunteers: A list of the volunteers along with all the other details regarding the volunteer work will be provided to Dr. Shablowski so he can announce the volunteers Event Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Dr. Shablowski: As the MC of the event, Dr. Shablowski will deliver a welcoming address, highlighting the volunteers’ impact. He will also present awards to the top-performing individuals: o Top 35-11 o Top 10-4 o Top 3 2. Awards and Recognition: o Muhammed Zouabi will hand the awards to the volunteers as they are announced and take a picture with them o Recipients will receive certificates, pins, and monetary awards in acknowledgment of their efforts. 3. Social media: Will take photos of the volunteers as they are presented their awards o Will also take videos and photos throughout the event 4. Chef Dupree: Chef Dupree will provide Light refreshments 5. Chairs and tables: Will coordinate the setup of chairs and tables to ensure the space is prepared for the ceremony. 6. SGA Members: SGA will assist with event setup and cleanup before and after the celebration to ensure smooth execution. Program Itinerary: • 5:00 PM: Guests arrive and are welcomed. Light refreshments are available. • 5:10 PM: Opening remarks by Dr. Shablowski. • 5:15 PM: Presentation of awards, starting with the top 35-11 individuals, followed by the top 10-4 individuals, and concluding with the top 3 individuals. • 5:30-5:45 PM: Closing remarks and a group photo of all awardees. • 6:00 PM: Event concludes; cleanup begins.

January 20, 2025 at 11:35 PMApprovedPediatrics Club Volunteer Event: Mckeen Elementary Science FairPediatrics Club01/20/202502/21/2025We have an upcoming Volunteer opportunity at the McKeen Elementary science fair where Peds Club members can work with the elementary students at one of the educational tables we will have set up there. We will have an educational coloring station, a nutrition/healthy eating instruction station, an operation board game station, a stethoscope and ophthalmoscope trial station, and a station with mini white coats where the kids can get their picture taken by a parent. This is an event that occurs with the Peds club every year made possible by Dr Cole-Jeffry, through which she has close relations with the PTA at Mckeen elementary and approves it with them each year. We will be able to take approximately 10 students aside from the old and new E boards for the club that are required to participate. We will select participants on a first come first serve basis, as we are limited in the number of jobs we have available for students.

This event will be put on by our advisor, Dr. Risavi. Any material needed for demonstrations or hands on will be supplied by ACOS MSS. The educational purpose of this event is to expose members of ACOS to the different types of suturing techniques. After speaking with upperclassman, they have expressed that it is extremely important to understand how to suture during surgical rotations. This event aims to helps students of any year to ask questions about suturing and learn the importance of different types of stitches. The following COVID-19 protocol will be strictly followed (if mandated at the time of the event): 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the event 2.) This workshop is being held in place of our previously requested and approved workshop that was cancelled due to the weather. This workshop will be led by Dr. Cukierski and Dr. Falk, they will be present throughout the entire workshop providing direct supervision of students. They will be demonstrating the injection of saline into the knee joints of two cadavers and allow students the opportunity to learn hands on the approach to prolotherapy injections. Dr. Kulesza has approved the use of the cadavers and protocol for the workshop. Material disposal will be supervised by Dr. Cukierski and Dr. Falk who will provide sharps disposable bins, and ensure proper protocol is followed in disposal of all materials used. This workshop will be open to SOMA members, and limited seats will be available on a first come first serve basis on a sign up sheet.

The purpose of this dinner would be to offer a relaxed environment that the current executive board and forum writers could meet with the newly voted executive board and forum writers to foster a seamless transition/changing of the guard. At this dinner, new ideas for the 2025-2026 academic year will be discussed, forum writers can work together to share tips on how to lead successful forums and retain members. We would also like to invite several faculty members to this dinner to encourage conversation about osteopathy in practice, tips for board studying and rotations, and convocation preparation. We would like to invite Dr. Stephany, Dr. Erik Esper, Dr. Hendryx, Dr. Balmer, Dr. Cukierkski, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Chludzinski, and Dr. Rowane to name a few. We have 35 members planning on attending convocation in March so this would also be a great way to build excitement for this trip. We are really hoping this dinner can serve as a "Jump Start" to the new year with the new chapter leadership and also jumpstart our trip to Orlando. We are allocating $350 for this dinner to offset costs of food for the members in attendance. Any costs of food over this amount will be assumed by the individuals there in attendance. This dinner will be open to the old and new exec board members, old and new forum writers.

We will have our first clinic on 1/8, with each subsequent clinic being on the first Wednesday of every month. They will be from 5:30-7:30 PM in the at the Plaza 38 medical center. This will give students first hand experience with patient interactions while also giving them a chance to practice OMM under the supervision of LECOM Faculty. This clinic will adhere to applicable state, federal, and local regulations. More information is included in the attached document.

We would like to offer a short sleeve, long sleeve, and crew necks in a standard Gildan ultra cotton t shirt in grey, light blue and navy blue colors. We believe that our costing will range between $10 and $12 and we would sell them with a $7 markup to help generate funds for our convocation trip planned for March 2025. We expect that our costs will go down with an increase quantity of shirts ordered. Our executive board will coordinate t-shirt orders during our regularly scheduled forums. We will take orders in person and via email from our members, collect funds in form of check/cash prior to placing the order with the company, and then distribute the apparel at one of our biweekly forums.

December is a time to study for finals and it can be very stressful. This brings an opportunity for students to purchase and try a variety of Asian snacks, either for themselves or friends, and to destress for a bit. It can be tough to find Asian treats around Erie, so APAMSA would like to bring them right to campus. It would provide a great opportunity for students to unwind, explore new flavors, or reminisce. Students will be able to choose from a wide array of Asian snacks which includes Matcha KitKats, Vita Teas, Ramen, and much more! All the money raised will go towards supporting the club to fund future events. Students will be able to pick and choose what they want through a preorder form which will be sent on Monday, November 25th. The preorder will end at 11:59PM on Friday, December 6th. It will be first come first serve due to limited supplies. Any snacks that are not sold out will be available for purchase on the day of pick-up which will be from 11:30 PM - 12:30 PM on Tuesday, December 10th in the LECOM cafeteria. We will distribute them in the Vora Lounge once they arrive in December. Since all members paid dues upon joining the club, all of these official members who have paid dues from both first and second year will be receiving this shirt for all of their hard work at volunteering events, fundraisers, and guest speaker networking. For anyone who isn't able to pick up their shirts on December 10th, between 11:30am-12:30pm, we will be reaching out to them directly to schedule a different time for their shirt pick ups. Dr. Wagner is an alumni of LECOM-Erie as well as a recent graduate of Millcreek Community Hospital Psychiatry residency program. He currently works at Millcreek hospital as a psychiatric attending. As both a LECOM graduate and recent attending, he offers relevant experiences on applying to psychiatry residency programs as a LECOM student, as well as integrating osteopathic principles into patient care. The event will be held over Zoom as a Q&A event. We will send out a questionnaire for any interested club members to submit questions they have for Dr. Wagner. Besides that, the conversation will be free form, allowing Dr. Wagner to share his experience and answer any questions that may come up during the meeting.
