Emergency Medicine Club would like to give students the opportunity to participate in a trauma cadaver simulation lab! The purpose of the lab is to give members hands-on practice with high-yield emergency trauma procedures, including chest tube placement, cricothyroidotomy, and thoracostomy, using cadaveric specimens for realistic anatomical training. This experience allows members to build procedural skills and confidence in a controlled setting before encountering these situations in clinical practice.
Resident physicians from UPMC Hamot Emergency Department, led by Dr. Erin Costello-Reese, along with Dr. Kulesza, will provide the training. This event will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, in the Cadaver Lab from 6-8 pm. An email with an Excel sign-up sheet will be sent to Emergency Medicine Club members, with a maximum of 25 students allowed to sign up, so sign up soon! We hope to see you there!
