SOMA would like to participate in the Erie Otters Children’s Grief Awareness Game on November 21st by hosting an interactive medical and science activity at a concourse table prior to the game. SOMA members will engage children and families with a hands-on introduction to human anatomy using an educational human body model. Children will be able to identify and explore the names, locations, relative sizes, and shapes of the major organs while learning basic concepts of anatomy and physiology in an approachable and age-appropriate way. This activity will provide a fun, interactive introduction to medicine and science while allowing SOMA members to engage with and support children and families attending this meaningful community event. Students who volunteer at the concourse table will receive volunteer hours for the time they spend participating in the event.
