The Student Osteopathic Medical Association at LECOM is partnering with Second Harvest to sponsor a food drive for those in need in the local community in Erie. Students at LECOM will be donating non-perishable food items in a contactless manner. Food items to be collected include canned goods, pasta, and water. Donations will be collected and dropped off at Second Harvest Food Bank in time for Thanksgiving. This drive will run from October 24- November 4th with a box left in the security office for donations. A sign-up sheet will be sent out prior to the event to specify what goods are needed to be donated.
This event has been successful in the past years that it has been done, and we anticipate it being another success. Community service hours will be awarded, 0.5 hours per two items, for a maximum of 3 hours.
