On October 18th, SOMA would like to host an informational session about Addiction Medicine. This event will be given via Zoom by Dr. Elizabeth Zona. She is an addiction medicine specialist who was recommended to us by one of our MMS students! Some example topics that will be covered are:
-her background and why she chose to pursue Addiction Med
-current fellowship programs available and their general curriculum
-the Neurobiology of Addiction
-her average work day
-potential practice options (inpatient vs outpatient models).
Given that one of SOMA’s pillars is to educate on opioid use and addiction in general, we thought this would be a good topic to have a presentation on! We will send out a sign up sheet, Zoom link, and form to submit questions for Dr. Zona as soon as this event is approved.
The event will be via Zoom on 10/18 from 6-7:30PM.
