We will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for kids in need. We will have a box in the front entrance where our club members can donate their items and then we will send them to the organization. There will be a maximum of 2 volunteer hours, with each product being 0.5 hours. This has to take place right before the holiday seasons.
	October 16, 2023 at 2:02 PM	Rejected	Bingo & Raffle at KFD	Emergency Medicine	10/16/2023	11/28/2023	We would like to host a Bingo night with food, prizes and fun at Kearsarge Fire Department. EM Club E-board members will run the event, picking and calling out numbers, checking winner’s cards, and passing out prizes. Prizes will include tourniquets, gift cards, duffle bags, penlights, T-shirts, etc. these will all be purchased by EM Club. We will also have a free raffle for all those who attend to enter! We will be raffling off one of our EM Club Waterproof ‘Survival Bags’ which we sold earlier this year as a fundraiser for our club. This kit has the approved LECOM logo on it and contains items such as an emergency blanket, cold pack, whistle, bandages, flashlight, tourniquet, etc. Food and drinks will be provided at the event, provided by EM Club. We will send out a sign-up sheet via an excel spreadsheet and KFD members will also be invited. We will do marketing via social media to promote the event to LECOM students. Our Club advisor Dr. Risavi, is on board with the event and will be in attendance. We will follow the current COVID mitigation plan as set by the school. The event will be Tuesday November 28th from 5:30-8:30pm, this includes set-up and clean up time by the E-Board members.
	October 16, 2023 at 12:50 PM	Approved	Donation Drive for Community of Caring & Guest Speaker Maureen Dunn	Emergency Medicine	10/16/2023	11/17/2023	We would like to give our members the opportunity to participate in a donation drive to benefit the organization Community of Caring. Community of Caring provides support to community members experiencing homelessness. They need items such as clothing, soap, toothbrushes, sanitary napkins, etc. We will run a donation drive that allows members to donate to this critical organization and support the community. The drive involves students signing up on an excel spreadsheet for the items they would like to donate from November 17th-24th. We would then provide a bin for the students to drop off their donations from November 27th – December 1st. The donation bin will be left near the security office, and emptied as it fills to ensure enough space for donations to be left in the bin. For participating in the drive we will offer 1 service hour for every 2 items a student donates, with each student able to earn a maximum of 2 service hours. Students will be dropping off donations to the bin located in the LECOM building and therefore adhere to LECOM COVID mitigation policies. All correspondence for the event will be done through email and E-Board members will drop off the items to the ‘Community of Caring’ organization afterwards. The Director of the Community of Caring organization, Maureen Dunn, would also like to speak to students over zoom on Thursday November 30th from 6-7pm about Community of Caring and how the donations will be used. This will give students insight into the local non-profit in case they would like to volunteer for them again in the future. Our Club advisor, Dr. Risavi, approves of the event.
	October 10, 2023 at 6:04 PM	Approved	LECOM Hoodie and Sweater Sale	Dermatology Club	10/10/2023	11/13/2023	The Dermatology Club will be selling hoodies and sweaters in various colors (black, blue or grey) with the LECOM approved logo on them as a fundraising event for the Fall 2023 semester. After approval, a Google form or spreadsheet will be sent to the student body where students can input their choice(s) of hoodie/sweater, color, size, etc. Additionally, the form will request that the student submit payment via Venmo, cash or other acceptable form of payment at that time. Once the form submissions and payments are tallied together, the final group order will be placed and pick up will be arranged to occur in the cafeteria or Vora lounge.

The Family Medicine Club connected with her an Osteopathic Family Medicine Conference in Hershey. She will be speaking about her experience as an Osteopathic Family Physician on November 16th, at 5:30PM over Zoom. She will be sharing general information about her path to become a family medicine physician, her osteopathic training, and offering any advice to current students. The speaking event will be followed by a Q&A session. Anyone is welcome to come prepared with questions about her life, asking for advice, or to just listen. The event help help aspiring family medicine medical students learn more from a current osteopathic physician. Also, it will be a great meeting for those not sure of a specialty to learn more about the field. No food will be involved in this event. 	October 5, 2023 at 9:53 AM	Approved	Food Drive for The Second Harvest Food Bank	Pathology Club	10/05/2023	11/27/2023	Pathology Club will be working with The Second Harvest Food Bank to collect dry goods and canned goods to donate. The collection bin will be housed in the security office from 11/27 to 12/8. The morning of 12/9, Savannah Sokalski will deliver them to Alex Lockwood at the Second Harvest Food Bank (Contact info: Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator, 1507 Grimm Dr. Erie, PA 16501, 814.459.3663 x 113). The contract agreement for the fundraiser has been attached. The products for donation are: dish soap, cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, laundry soap, shampoo, body wash, canned fruits and veggies, canned soup, canned meats, and canned beans. Students will receive 1 volunteer hour for every 3 items donated, with a maximum of 2 volunteer hours for 6 donated items. However, students can donate as many items as they wish. This event will be open to the whole school, not just Pathology Club members. The Excel spreadsheet used for sign-ups and recording of volunteer hours is attached.
	October 4, 2023 at 5:15 PM	Approved	Blaze Pizza Fundraiser	Pathology Club	10/04/2023	11/14/2023	On November 14th, 2023 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, Pathology Club would like to hold a fundraiser through Blaze Pizza located at 1930 Douglas Pkwy, Erie, PA 16509. 20% of total order proceeds, from both online and in-store orders (not delivery), will go directly to the club. Blaze makes fliers for the event with their store information, the club name (not including the LECOM logo), and instructions on how to present the flyer. The flyer is not made until closer to the event, however, an example of the flyer is attached to this request. The supporters will either show this flier or enter the promo code assigned for our fundraising event. After the event, a check will be mailed to the Pathology Club President, Savannah Sokalski, and be delivered to the SGA treasurer directly. Instructions for fundraiser per the company: "During the event, your supporters present the flyers (printed out or on their cell phones) when they order their fast-fire’d creation. For online fundraisers, your supporters should order on blazepizza.com or via the Blaze Pizza App and then enter the online code provided on the flyer at checkout in the “Promo Code" field. Online orders are valid only for carryout and pickup. Delivery orders cannot be counted toward fundraiser totals at this time."
	September 29, 2023 at 1:31 PM	Approved	Mock practical 3	ACOS-MSS	09/29/2023	10/09/2023	ACOS will be working alongside Dr. Kulesza in setting up a mock practical, with both a written and oral component for ACOS MS1s members to help prepare for their next exam. We are opening up assistance in preparation for the mock exam to SSP so that MS2s can gain volunteer hours for their time. The written component will take place in the Cadaver lab while the oral will be held in the study rooms 1-5. We will also be having a PBL mock practical at the same time happening in case room 117. The educational purpose of this event is to prepare MS1's for their anatomy practical. It will be performed exactly as the real practical to allow students to gauge their level of understanding of the material. The following COVID-19 protocol will be strictly followed (if mandated at the time of the event): 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic--both volunteers and attendees 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the mock practical 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the exam to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending 7.) We will keep attendees in smaller groups by generating different start times for their exam
	September 29, 2023 at 7:17 AM	Approved	Internal Medicine Club Apparel Fundraiser	Internal Medicine Club	09/29/2023	10/25/2023	The Internal Medicine Club will be hosting a LECOM apparel sale as a club fundraiser through Sew Much More Services. The Internal Medicine Club will earn 15% of sales, which will help support club events and initiatives in the near future. Apparel can be ordered online at the link below once the event is approved, and the sale will last for approximately two weeks (ideally the last week of October and the first week of November). Once the sale has run for two weeks, the company will need approximately 2 weeks to fill the orders, and then the orders will be sent out. Orders can be directly shipped to those that place them, or there will be a group pick up option. For the group pick-up, people place their order online and then pick it up in the LECOM cafeteria a later date designated by the club. To do this, Sew Much More will drop off the group pick-up orders to the club's president, Sarah Centore, for the people that selected group pick-up. Sarah will then bring these orders into the school on a designated day after the orders have been given to us, and the club will distribute the remainder of the orders in the cafeteria. The group pick-up allows a more cost effective option for members who do not want to pay for shipping. The contact person from Sew Much More is Jody Centore. 	September 29, 2023 at 7:00 AM	Approved	How to Succeed on Rotations	Internal Medicine Club	09/29/2023	11/01/2023	As part of the Visiting Professor Program, the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) is sending Dr. Annette T. Carron to LECOM to give a presentation about "How to Succeed on Rotations." Dr. Carron graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991 and completed her fellowship in Geriatrics. She is a former ACOI president, and now works as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine for Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). Club members will be able to attend the presentation to learn how to best prepare and stand out during their rotations. Dr. Carron will also answer any questions that students may have about rotations or the field of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine. As part of this presentation, the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) will be handing out medical textbooks to two random participants that attend the lecture. The ACOI will be covering all of Dr. Carron's traveling expenses, in addition to sending a few giveaways for the club to hand out. Attendees will follow the LECOM COVID protocols at the time of the event. Our club advisor, Dr. D'Amico will also be in attendance at the event.

She currently has three research studies she is working on and will be presenting it during the symposium through zoom on 10/27/23 at 9:00 am-11:00 am. She will be discussing her path into research, experience in Heme onc residency, and there will be an open Q&A session at the end for any students that have questions regarding her journey or her research.

This workshop presents a chance for students to learn how to identify and treat a trauma vector. As future osteopath, it is important that we explore avenues of wholistic treatments, and since trauma vectors are not covered in our OPP lab curriculum, SAAO hopes this will be a wonderful learning experience for our members to partake in. 	September 24, 2023 at 12:38 PM	Approved	AMMSA Hoops for Humanity: Charity Week for Orphans & Needy Children	AMMSA	09/24/2023	11/04/2023	The American Medical Muslim Student Association would like to host a basketball fundraiser to raise funds for the "Charity Week for Orphans and Needy Children" organization. The vision of this organization is to "become a vehicle to inspire young people to become active, socially engaged and united upon our shared Islamic and humanitarian values. Raising money to help countless Orphans and Needy Children across the World is just one outcome. Whatever the problem, no matter how complex or how longstanding, we will always find it easier to solve when we all work together." A $10 fee will be charged to each person interested in participating in the tournament. 100% of the funds raised will go towards the organization. We will use our own club's funds to purchase water, cups, and trophies for the winning team. The tournament will work as a bracket 2-3 point system, first to 21. We will request teams of 3 and have 2 tournaments happening at the same time playing half-court games. We will have referees and board members to keep track of points and the bracket tournament. We were hoping to host this event on Saturday, November 4th from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the LECOM Wellness Center (5401 Peach St, Erie, PA 16509). This weekend seemed to work best with the MS1 and MS2 schedules so we hope to have good attendance for our event. I have called and confirmed availability with the Wellness Center and they notified me that we can host our event at the requested date/time.

Multiple second year representatives from each pathway (LDP, PBL, DSP/PCSP) will be present at the meeting to give advice to first years as they make the transition from anatomy to core classes. This will provide an opportunity for second year students to reflect on what study methods and approaches helped them to succeed in core, while also expressing which methods were not as successful. After a general welcome and overview, the club will go into breakout rooms in order to ask questions specific to each pathway, which will be led by the second-year representatives from each respective pathway. The event would involve students writing and submitting cards/notes to be sent to Veterans on their own time. After completing their letters, students will drop off the cards in a collection box kept outside of the security office, similar to other donation drives. Collection will begin on October 31st and end on November 10th. Each card donation will count for 0.5 hours with a maximum of 3 hours (6 cards). Hours will count towards SSP and LECOM hours. Approval is still pending from Touch Point. After the collection date, the letters will be sent to the address in the attached PDF below. Please see below a PDF of the flyer for the event.
	September 12, 2023 at 10:18 AM	Approved	Erie Zoo's Annual ZooBoo	SOMA	09/12/2023	10/20/2023	SOMA is looking to gather a group to volunteer at Erie Zoo’s ZooBoo event. Students will volunteer in various positions and hand out treats to children and families attending said event. Students will fill out an application provided by Erie Zoo (https://www.eriezoo.org/uploads/2023-zooboo-final-application.pdf). Applications will be collected by SOMA Community Outreach Chair, Mia Tornel and mailed to Erie Zoo by September 30th. By doing this, SOMA hopes to provide a way for LECOM students to connect with the local Erie community in a fun manner celebrating the upcoming holiday. Since it will be getting into the fall, should COVID numbers begin to rise we will be sure to encourage masking and distancing to help take precautions and mitagate spread.
