We have done this as a club previously and the website description of the role states - Volunteers in this role will work alongside other volunteers and Second Harvest staff to accomplish the "Project of the Day". While warehouse projects vary by shift, volunteers can expect to sort, pack, and prepare grocery items for our neighbors in need. We are looking for anywhere from 10-15 volunteers for that morning.

We will be selling T-shirts featuring Dr. Risavi’s Emergency Medicine Commandments. This will be an online sale, with all orders collected and tracked through email and a shared spreadsheet. We will advertise the fundraiser through social media and campus channels to maximize participation. Once the shirts arrive, we will distribute them on campus, following all school guidelines for event setup and distribution. The sale will run from January 12th-19th, and most likely arrive early February. Distribution will take place in the Vora Lounge once all orders have been fulfilled. Cost for short sleeve t-shirts will be $20 and the long sleeve shirts will be $25. Our club advisor, Dr. Risavi, is fully supportive of this fundraiser, and we are excited to provide a fun and meaningful way for students to show their EM pride.

We would sell them for around $70.00 with LECOM embroidered on them. Additionally, students could get their own name embroidered on the jacket as well for an additional $10.00. We would use the website Threadfellow to order the jackets once we send out a google form and know which students would like to purchase them and receive payment. The jackets without any embroidery on the website are between $46 and $55 dollars. Once they arrive and are completed we would distribute them in the Vora Lounge. We will have an option for 3rd and 4th years to pay for shipping directly to themselves. Note: the request for the Vora Lounge is not for the dates selected. Those dates will be the selling window, and distribution will depend on how long Threadfellow takes to embroider the jackets.

The event will be on Tuesday, January 20 at 5:30 PM for an engaging discussion on the importance of cultural competency in healthcare, as our speakers share real-world experiences and insights from their clinical practice. The evening will wrap up with a 15-minute Q&A session, giving students the chance to ask questions and connect directly with our panelists.

Dr. Lam will be speaking to students about how to pursue a career in plastic surgery and reviewing interesting plastic surgery case studies. Students will have the unique opportunity to have face to face discussions with a highly successful and successful osteopathic surgeon. This event will also allow LECOM to further strengthen its relationship with the national ACOS. This event will be held in collaboration with LECOM Seton Hill and Elmira ACOS-MSS via Zoom.

The event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in the early Fall Semester. A Google Form will be sent out, and the sale will run through August-September. The company we will be using is Threadfellows, we have already established a relationship and have the site ready for use in the fall pending approval. Multiple types of Columbia jackets will be offered, including vests, full zip jackets, and quarter zip jackets. Pick up will be in the LECOM cafeteria.

We are requesting permission to use the nine tables located on the far left side of the cafeteria. We plan to provide pizza and juice for attendees, as the event will take place during evening hours and offering food helps ensure students are able to eat during an otherwise busy academic week. A signup sheet will be used for students to register for the event, which will be open to 1st- and 2nd-year LECOM medical students on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum capacity of 40 students. Crafts & Connect is intended to provide students with a relaxed and welcoming environment to decompress, connect with peers, and engage in creative activities such as coloring, general arts and crafts, and a decorate-your-Anki-remote station, where students may create a keychain or personalize their Anki remote. This event aims to promote mental wellness, creativity, and social connection during a busy academic period. Dr. Awale has agreed to be present for the entirety of the event to provide faculty supervision and ensure appropriate oversight.

It will take place on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, in the LECOM atrium from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Event Details: • Purpose: Recognizing the invaluable contributions of student volunteers and celebrating their positive impact on the community. • Guests: A total of 35 individuals will be personally invited for their service, with the option to bring one guest each. Including SGA members and staff, we anticipate no more than 100 attendees. • RSVP: An RSVP form will be distributed, with responses due by February 20th, 2024. Final guest counts will be shared with Dr. Shablowski, and Dr. Thielman for logistical arrangements and Chef Dupree for refreshments. • Documentation: Social media will be contacted so she can take photos and videos for the event • Volunteers: A list of the volunteers along with all the other details regarding the volunteer work will be provided to Dr. Shablowski so he can announce the volunteers Event Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Dr. Shablowski: As the MC of the event, Dr. Shablowski will deliver a welcoming address, highlighting the volunteers’ impact. He will also present awards to the top-performing individuals: o Top 35-11 o Top 10-4 o Top 3 2. Awards and Recognition: o SGA President Sarah Wang will hand the awards to the volunteers as they are announced and take a picture with them o Recipients will receive certificates, pins, and monetary awards in acknowledgment of their efforts. 3. Social media: Will take photos of the volunteers as they are presented their awards o Will also take videos and photos throughout the event 4. Chef Dupree: Chef Dupree will provide Light refreshments 5. Chairs and tables: Will coordinate the setup of chairs and tables to ensure the space is prepared for the ceremony. 6. SGA Members: SGA will assist with event setup and cleanup before and after the celebration to ensure smooth execution. Program Itinerary: • 5:00 PM: Guests arrive and are welcomed. Light refreshments are available. • 5:10 PM: Opening remarks by Dr. Shablowski. • 5:15 PM: Presentation of awards, starting with the top 35-11 individuals, followed by the top 10-4 individuals, and concluding with the top 3 individuals. • 5:30-5:45 PM: Closing remarks and a group photo of all awardees. • 6:00 PM: Event concludes; cleanup begins.
January 20, 2026 at 10:08 AMApprovedDO2 Max Valentine’s Dance & Wellness FundraiserDO2 Max Club01/20/202602/20/2026The Athletics Club proposes hosting a beginner-friendly "Valentine’s Cha-Cha" ballroom dance designed to promote cardiovascular health and mental wellness through active stress relief at the LECOM wellness center. The session will be led by MS2 student Peri Dimitriou, a competitive ballroom dancer with a long experience competing nationally and leading dance clubs throughout her undergrad. To ensure proper oversight, Dr. Melodie Chludzinski graciously agreed to chaperon the event and the Lauren from the LECOM wellness Center also agreed on hosting the event contingent on the fact we obtain proper insurance. This workshop will focus on teaching proper technique in a safe, structured environment, allowing students of all skill levels to engage in physical coordination and cardiovascular exercise. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support future wellness initiatives for the Athletics Club. Insurance is actively being sorted out with Ethan Zelenke from SGA! We previewed event interest in our club's GroupMe and from there alone, roughly 20 people expressed interest in coming. We have yet to make an announcement to the entire COM but are expecting there will be significantly more interest once approved. January 27, 2026 at 12:42 PMApprovedPediatrics Club Volunteer Event: Mckeen Elementary Science FairPediatrics Club01/27/202602/19/2026We have an upcoming Volunteer opportunity at the McKeen Elementary science fair where Peds Club members can work with the elementary students at one of the educational tables we will have set up there. We will have an educational coloring station, a nutrition/healthy eating instruction station, an operation board game station, a stethoscope and ophthalmoscope trial station, and a station with mini white coats where the kids can get their picture taken by a parent. This is an event that occurs with the Peds club every year made possible by Dr Cole-Jeffry, through which she has close relations with the PTA at Mckeen elementary and approves it with them each year. We will be able to take approximately 10 students aside from the old and new E boards for the club that are required to participate. We will select participants on a first come first serve basis, as we are limited in the number of jobs we have available for students.

January 27, 2026 at 6:01 PMApprovedCasting & Splinting ClinicACOS-MSS01/27/202602/27/2026LECOM surgery club is excited to put on a casting clinic and splinting with Dr. Anthony Ferretti and assistants. This event will give members an opportunity to learn from an orthopedic surgeon how to properly cast. It will additionally provide the unique opportunity for students to interact with and learn from residents. The event will also be extended to the orthopedics club as it is an important skill for them to develop. Earlier that day, Dr Shawn Storm will be giving the LDP pathway a lecture in casting. This event will allow students to learn the material in the classroom and then directly apply that knowledge with a hands on event. The anticipated event will be held on February 27th from 5pm-7pm in the OPP Lab. Our advisor, Dr. Brian Risavi will be present to supervise and assist. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who attends the guest lecturer event The educational purpose of this event is to expose students to a critical skill that requires proficiency in a variety of different specialties. This will additionally help students to prepare for clinical rotation. As some students may not have been exposed to this technique yet, this will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to gain hands on experience and knowledge from a practicing orthopedic surgeon within the LECOM Health system.

Students pay $15 admission for unlimited bowling, $10 will go to Rolling Meadow Lanes and $5 will go to SAAO. The number for the bowling alley is 1-814-838-7681, they are reserving 6 lanes for LECOM. Students can also pay $5 for an arm's length of tickets to win basket raffles, with items donated by other clubs.
