The Class of 2024 Board has agreed to cover 20% of the cost while SGA is able to give the rest. The students would also receive an embossed LECOM Yeti mug. For the Class of 2025, SGA solely would like to gift the incoming students LECOM embossed Yeti mugs along with LECOM decal stickers and engraved frames where students can display their white coat pictures at home.

The gift cards can either be purchased in virtual form and emailed to each individual or can be purchased in physical form, have them delivered to student affairs and the student affairs distribute them to each individual.

This is a great opportunity to practice your BP taking skills and to encourage patients to do routine health monitoring, as a way to prevent hypertension! Furthermore, it is crucial to develop good people skills. Per LECOM guidelines, this event will only be open to fully vaccinated individuals. Please bring your own BP cuff and stethoscope. Dress code is scrubs or professional attire (if you do not own scrubs). Logo use is needed on the flyers made by the Glenwood YMCA to advertise this event. July 28, 2021 at 2:19 PMRejectedSAAO MS1 & MS2 Forum ReviewSAAO07/28/202108/11/2021Currently requesting approval for every Wednesday night. This will allow us to have approval in time to have a forum before the first practical on August 12th, 2021. The class practical schedule is still being confirmed and once it is we will most likely be only meeting every other week, however approval for each Wednesday will also allow us to hold a forum for more challenging topics that would otherwise be missed with the every other week schedule. SAAO will be hosting forum review sessions every other Wednesday. This will provide students with the opportunity to practice and ask any questions they may have before the practical’s that will be occurring the following day, Thursdays, in class lab. The first forum review is currently schedule for August 11, 2021. Both will take place in the OPP lab at the LECOM-ERIE main building. The MS1 forum will take place from 5:30-6:30pm pm. Break from 6:30-7:00 pm. The MS2 forum will follow from 7:00-8:00 pm. Times are subject to change, mainly the exlusion of a break between forums. All in attendance are required to be SAAO members and have their local and national dues paid.

The workshop will be lead by Dr. Brian Pickering, a LECOM graduate of the Class of 2019 and third year Family Medicine Resident. The workshop will consist of an overview of ultrasound imaging followed by common MSK findings. Anyone interested in Family Medicine/Sports Medicine is encouraged to join! COVID precautions including masks at all times will be enforced. The event will be limited to 15 attendees to allow for social distancing when possible.

She, along with a couple of current residents, will be speaking about the UPMC in Central PA (previously UPMC Pinnacle) Family Medicine Residency program on Thursday, September 16th at 5:30PM over Zoom. They will be sharing general information on the program including curriculum, schedule, and the community. The info session will be followed by a Q&A session. Anyone is welcome to come prepared with questions about their residency program, questions about applications, or just come ready to listen.

The welcome back party will give incoming MS1 students the opportunity to meet the faculty as well as MS2. For the MS2, it will be provide an opportunity to catch up with peers and faculty. We would like to support the local Erie businesses and will have 1 food trucks and 1 ice cream truck from local vendors. We will have outdoor games such as cornhole, large 4 in a row, and large jenga. We would also like to provide tables where people can sit and eat. We can either rent them or if LECOM has tables we can use that would be ideal.

The event will be held on campus back by the softball fields, weather pending. Each club will have a table and will be required to have board members present to give information about how to get involved and to answer questions regarding their clubs. The tables can either be rented or if LECOM has tables available for us to borrow, that would be preferred. We are also hoping to have a snack/small catered food option present for students to enjoy. Our current plan for this is ordering pizza from Virgil's Plate, which will come from our SGA funding. We hope this event can allow everyone to get information about the clubs and begin pursuing their interests early in the semester! Safety Measures: Vaccinated individuals can attend mask free given that the event is outdoors; unvaccinated will wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol

We want to provide events for MS1s to interact with MS2s and create helpful relationships with their peers. Moving to Erie and starting at a new school can be difficult, and I want to help ease that transition with some fun, optional events to attend. We will be hosting it at the LECOM softball field. I will ask around for people who have bases/kickballs to borrow for the event. Otherwise, the cost of the event will be under $80. 2x kickball ~$20/ea = $40 Bases ~$15 Water for students = $20 Thank you, and please let me know if you have further questions about the event series.

We polled students on what sort of events they would enjoy, and this was high on the list. We would provide TVs and Nintendo Switch consoles for students to hang out, play some games, and have some pizza. LECOM would provide the space for the event and pizza. I would need some further guidance on viable locations for the event, but even the cafeteria would be a functional location if there are no other suitable options. Overall budget would be $100 for pizza and water. Everything else is provided by students.

This is the 21st year for this incredible event, which serves four Pennsylvania counties, and last year the Erie location gathered nearly 10,000 pounds of food. Ten Thousand Pounds. The event will take place at the Erie News Now station at 3514 State Street, Erie, PA 16508 on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. At the food drive, we will be unloading donations out of people’s vehicles, weighing them, and loading them into a large Second Harvest semi. Our goal would be to get a total of 7 students interested in as many of the following 2hr time slots as we can: 6AM-8AM 8AM-10AM 10AM-12PM 12PM-2PM 2PM-4PM 4PM-6:30PM

They will park in the parking lot close to the softball field. They will be there from 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm. We will be giving out meal vouchers that can be used to get food at the truck.
