It takes over 200 volunteers to make this event possible. Students will help the kids with crafts, pass out cookies, help with Santa- there are a variety of times and opportunities; but most importantly, students will provide free "health checks" and "treatments" for the children's teddy bears.

One of our club officers, McKenzie Warshel, was a domestic violence counselor prior to coming to medical school. Since October is Domestic Violence month, McKenzie would like to educate the club on the prevalence of domestic violence and the resources that are available for these women. Additionally, we will make trick-or-treat bags to donate to Domestic Violence Shelter in Erie for the women and children who are staying there.

Volunteers encourage kids to get healthy by working at stations to teach them about nutrition, dental health, self-esteem and more. Children are also encouraged to play games that get them up and moving. Events are run several times of the year. This event will be at the Erie Ice Arena on April 21st.
