Each student would purchase a ticket for $12. An excel sheet will be monitored for all students that will be in attendance to maintain contract tracing. February 20, 2022 at 3:07 PMApprovedTyler Christian DobratzLECOM SGA - Medicine - Erie02/20/202204/30/2022Food for Kidz Packing Event Time & Date: 12:00pm -6pm (1 hour set up, two 2 hour volunteer shifts, 1 hour clean up) Location: LECOM Cafeteria (or larger location if volunteer turnout exceeds capacity) Description: Food for Kidz is an awesome organization that helps groups of all sizes set up mobile food packing events to help address and fight hunger around the world. On their website, they have a detailed packet of all instructions and recommendations to set up an event and this packet is attached with this description. In summary, Food for Kidz will deliver the dried food in bulk and all of the equipment needed to set up packing stations. Our volunteers will help set up all the packing stations and supplies. Volunteers then work in teams to pack individual, sealed, fortified rice-soy protein meal packages. Each of these packages provides six servings. These packages are then packed into boxes (216 packages per box) which will then be sent to a child in need somewhere in the world. One box of food will feed a child for approximately 7 months. At the end of the packing session, volunteers will then help load the boxes of packed food and supplies onto the Food for Kidz truck, and the Food for Kidz organization will handle the rest of the distribution and delivery of the food to its destination. Purpose: To provide an opportunity for LECOM to help fight world hunger and volunteer our time to help those in need in our world, and to foster the caring and giving attitude embedded in LECOM’s mission. We hope to hold this event as a large volunteer opportunity open to all LECOM students and faculty, that encourages students and faculty from all disciplines, pathways, and clubs to work together and get to know each other outside of the classroom or otherwise defined roles within other groups/clubs. Volunteers: Open to all LECOM students and faculty Funding: Food for Kidz recommends raising approximately $20 per adult per hour of packing, to cover the costs of the food, supplies, and costs of running the event. After approval of the event, we will send out sign up forms in which volunteers can sign up for the shift(s) they would like. Based on the total amount of people signed up to volunteer for each hour, we can calculate the total amount of money needed to hold the event, which we hope to use SGA funding for. Ex. 50 people volunteering each hour x 4 hours x $20 = $4000 Covid Protocol: All attendees will be required to remain masked for the entirety of their time volunteering. Attendees will follow all guidelines for exposure and symptoms as outlined in the portal screening form. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

February 9, 2022 at 7:54 PMRejectedSuturing ClinicACOS-MSS02/09/202203/18/2022ACOS-MSS would like to provide the opportunity for the maximum amount of interested students to learn the basics of suturing while ensuring that all COVID protocols are thoroughly followed. To achieve this, we would be holding two small group clinic sessions over the course of two separate dates rather than one large event. Each session will last three hours, and members may only sign up for one slot. By doing so, it will not only drastically limit the amount of potential contact between attendees but also minimize exposure time and always allow for ample social distancing. Dr. Jung will be facilitating this event with the rotating assistance of Dr. Coughlin and Dr. Risavi (other attendings will also be notified to maximize efficiency). During these small group clinic events, the following guidelines will be strictly followed: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the suturing clinic 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the suturing clinic to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending 6.) Unvaccinated individuals will be allowed to attend, but they will be placed at a separate table, again maintaining at least 6 feet for proper social distancing. 7.) We will cap each session at 50 individuals to mitigate the potential spread of COVID *Our casting clinic permitted 50 individuals and was approved on November 18th, 2021. The event ran smoothly and no issues ensued.

January 30, 2022 at 2:40 PMApprovedValentine's Day Ice Cream SocialLECOM SGA - Medicine - Erie01/30/202202/15/2022Event: Valentine’s Ice Cream Social Purpose: To provide LECOM students with a simple, safe Valentine’s day treat. We have worked directly with Dupree to provide individually packaged ice-cream with separately packaged additives. The event is being run by cafeteria staff to simply hand out the ice cream to those who are interested. The cost is quoted for $0.70 per unit, provided in boxes of 48. We have requested two orders for ~96 units. The overall cost should be under $100. COVID Protocol: Our event follows in accordance with all LECOM COVID standards. There is no additional increase in risk due to the distribution and packaging of the food. * Given Dupree's preference to handle the food services separately, he will submit his own Food Service Form. For forthcoming events, we will be submitting the Food Form through the proper SGA channels.

Cards will be picked up at the end of the drive by Co-Chair Paarth Sharma or Co-Chair Smaran Teru. We will advertise this event to the entire Class of 2024 and class of 2025, so they are able to participate. At the conclusion of the card drive, we will arrange a date and time to drop off the cards to St. Mary’s Senior Center. This will be done in a contact-free manner. Why: SOMA wants to create a COVID-safe opportunity for students to get involved in the Erie community. Having this card drive creates an event that allows LECOM students to reach out and be involved with the school and community.

January 15, 2022 at 2:29 PMApprovedAdvanced Directives Information PresentationSOMA01/15/202203/09/2022Many students (myself included) do not know how to create an advanced directive, carry one out, or even what one is. This remote presentation (via Zoom) from Amy Ventry, MSW and Social Service Coordinator at Lakeland Area Hospice, will guide us through what an advanced directive is and how to write one for ourselves, and how to carry out one for our future patients. With COVID becoming increasingly present in our world and with younger people being severely affected, it is important that young adults have advanced directives in place. While we hope to never need to use advanced directives, it is still crucial that we have our wishes be known in the event of being unable to make these decisions. Amy will give a 45 minute remote presentation about advanced directives, and then will open the floor for questions about advanced directives and her presentation.
