July 22, 2022 at 2:51 PMRejectedKickballClass of 202507/22/202208/01/2022We want to host a kickball on August 1st after classes for a LECOM Welcome Week. There are other events that are planned for that week that Nevin told me he sent in a request for. The event would start around 530 and end by 7pm. The main goal of this event is to have a fun event where MS1s and MS2s can interact. I already emailed Brian King and he mentioned that the field is available to use as long as it gets approved. As far as Covid protocol, because the entirety of the event is outside there should be no need for any masking or social distancing.

July 1, 2022 at 2:29 PMApprovedCharity Miles FundraiserChristian Medical and Dental Association07/01/202209/01/2022CMDA was so excited with how the event went last semester, so we decided to do the event again this fall. We are going to be raising money for Active Minds in the month of September. Active Minds is a charity that raises money to help with suicide prevention. We decided to do it during the month of September since it is suicide prevention month. We have decided to give the top 5 participants $10 gift cards. We are also going to send out a form for the people who are interested in participating, and then on the first day of the event we are going to send out the team name for everyone to join and then start walking, running, or biking. Everything is done on the app called Charity Miles, and the money is sent to the charity directly through the app. The participants will just make an account, join our team, and then work out on their own to raise money for the charity.

We polled students on what sort of events they would enjoy, and this was high on the list. We would provide TVs and Nintendo Switch consoles for students to hang out, play some games, and have some pizza. LECOM would provide the space for the event and pizza. I would need some further guidance on viable locations for the event, but even the cafeteria would be a functional location if there are no other suitable options. Overall budget would be $100 for pizza and water. Everything else is provided by students.
