We plan to have MS3's and MS4's sign up, plan meeting times and link, and answer some general questions about rotation sites. 3rd and 4th year students will be participating with any other students associated with their core site to give details about the site that could be really beneficial to MS2's as they prepare to do their rank. All of the correspondence and collaboration involved with be virtual. The meetings for different core sites will be split up over the week and weekend scheduled and open to any MS2's to join as they wish.

Coloring Materials will be provided along with snacks to enjoy while earning volunteer hours by creating art for nursing homes, hospitals, troops, and young children in need of a smile. From May 12th to May 16th, coloring books and a variety of coloring supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils) will be available in the cafeteria for anyone who needs a quick mental reset. The goal is to promote mindfulness and provide a low-pressure outlet for stress relief during a high-stress time. This initiative is designed to support student well-being and aligns with our holistic approach to health and wellness. The supplies will be monitored and restocked daily to ensure the area remains inviting, organized, and fully stocked for all students.

August 31, 2022 at 1:43 PMApprovedCMDA Volunteer EventChristian Medical and Dental Association08/31/202210/01/2022Our CMDA group will be volunteering at Acts 2:42 Bible Fellowship by helping with their men’s retreat on Saturday, 10/01/2022. They asked for help setting up tables and tents outside, serving food, and helping with clean up during and after the event. We will have two groups of volunteers. One group will work from 7:30 to 9:30 am. The second group will work from 11:30 am- 1:30 pm. We have decided to open this up for only our members. For COVID precautions, we are asking all of our students to wear masks and to social distance as much as possible. For the food handling, we are asking all students to wash their hands, wear their masks, and wear gloves to minimize transmission. April 9, 2024 at 7:24 PMApprovedClub Meeting with Guest SpeakerFamily Medicine Club04/09/202405/09/2024We want to welcome our guest speaker, Dr. Katherine Lincoln, DO, MHA, for an educational session on the subspecialty field of wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Lincoln completed an AOA approved family medicine residency at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY, and practiced in family medicine for 5 years, she then retrained into a surgical subspecialty field in wound care, which she has been doing for almost 11 years; she is currently the only board certified family physician in the Department of Surgery at Guthrie Medical Group at Sayre, PA. Dr. Lincoln currently serves on the board of POFPS and also holds a degree in Masters of Healthcare Administration.

This would also give the students a chance to meet the SGA board, learn about the SGA podcast, and hear about any upcoming events. We will be catering from an external vendor. This event will be held outdoors which allows vaccinated students to be mask free but requires unvaccinated individuals to wear a mask. The club booths will be socially distanced and spaced appropriately. The catered food will include single serve items and waste will be disposed in non-touch trash cans. Students will have access to sanitizer and items such as pens/sign up sheets will be regulated by club board members. We will direct crowds, if any, in a single flow. We intend to use the logo on a poster board as a cut out/pasted image.

The event will be held on campus back by the softball fields, weather pending. Each club will have a table and will be required to have board members present to give information about how to get involved and to answer questions regarding their clubs. The tables can either be rented or if LECOM has tables available for us to borrow, that would be preferred. We are also hoping to have a snack/small catered food option present for students to enjoy. Our current plan for this is ordering pizza from Virgil's Plate, which will come from our SGA funding. We hope this event can allow everyone to get information about the clubs and begin pursuing their interests early in the semester! Safety Measures: Vaccinated individuals can attend mask free given that the event is outdoors; unvaccinated will wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol

The event will be held on campus back by the softball fields, weather pending. In the event of inclement weather, we will reschedule the event. Each club will have a table and will be required to have board members present to give information about how to get involved and to answer questions regarding their clubs.The tables for each club will be rented from Crazy Monkey here in Erie.The cost is $7 per table x 25 tables = $175. We are also hoping to have pizza from Virgil's Plate, estimated $28 per 24 cut pizza x 10 pizzas = $280, and water which we will buy in bulk from Sam's club, estimated $10 per 80 pack of water bottles X 4 = $40. The funding from both of these will come from our SGA funding. We are also requesting garbage bins or a dumpster for any waste from the food to be disposed of, if LECOM is able to provide these. We hope this event can allow everyone to get information about the clubs and begin pursuing their interests early in the semester! Set-up: SGA board members will facilitate delivery and pick-up of tables and food. Board members for each club will be present and responsible for setting up their club table and decorating however they would like. Clean-up: SGA board and club board members will assist with clean up of tables and any garbage left behind. Safety Measures: Vaccinated individuals can attend mask free given that the event is outdoors; unvaccinated will wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol. Security officer will be present for entire time.

The club fair event will begin at 9:30am-1:30pm on August 5th. Location: LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center Purpose: The club fair at a medical school serves as a dynamic platform for students to explore a wide range of extracurricular activities and opportunities that complement their medical education. It aims to foster a vibrant and engaged community by bringing together various student-run clubs and organizations dedicated to different medical specialties, research areas, volunteer initiatives, and professional development. The purpose of the club fair is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the diverse avenues available to them beyond the classroom, allowing them to connect with like-minded peers, gain valuable hands-on experience, and further their personal and professional growth. This event facilitates networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas, enabling students to discover new interests, strengthen their skills, and contribute meaningfully to the medical community. By attending the club fair, students can make informed choices about their extracurricular involvement, fostering a well-rounded education that complements their medical studies and nurtures their individual interests and aspirations. Funding: SGA will use their own funds. Timeline: The setup will begin at 6:00 pm on August 4th, with tables and chairs being brought into the gym and hallway. Clubs will each set up their own individual tables in a circular formation. The setup will end at 8:00 pm on the same day. On August 5th at 9:00 am, clubs will come in to do one last check-in before students arrive at 9:30 am. During 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, students will filter in to visit the various clubs based on their interests. From 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, clubs will remove their equipment, and SGA will pack up the tables and chairs.
