Then, there will be a hands-on learning opportunity for students to practice and be assessed on techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, Dr. Risavi will issue students a CPR license from the National CPR Foundation. It will give our members the chance to interact with one another while earning a valuable certification. All equipment and mannequins for the interactive activity will be provided by Dr. Risavi. The CoC is in constant need of everyday items that are provided for the residents at their emergency shelters. Thus, the Medical Spanish Club is hoping to sponsor a donation drive for our club members and other LECOM students to participate in to provide the CoC with a surplus of goods for those in need. When This Will Occur: We are looking to collect donation items throughout the week of April 10-14th. A collection box will be placed inside the security office during this 5-day time period for students to drop off their donation items are their convenience. Angelina Stone, the President of the MSC, will then plan to drop off the donated items to the CoC on that following Saturday, April 15th. Advertisement: An email will be sent out by Dr. Shabloski on behalf of the MSC to MS1s, MS2s, and faculty. The email will contain a short excerpt of the purpose of this donation drive, the drop off dates, and a google spreadsheet to sign up. The signup sheet will display the desired items to be donated to the CoC, and students and faculty will be able to put their name down for what they would be able to provide. We will be offering 0.5 volunteer hours per product, with a cap at 2 volunteer hours per student. Volunteers/Participants: The google document will then give the MSC a headcount on the total number of participants of this donation drive. On April 14th, the end of the collection period, the items donated will be counted by MSC cabinet members in order to confirm the amount donated correlates relative to the number of items expected per the signup sheet. COVID Mitigation Plan: Since all donation items will be collected in a box within the Security Office on LECOM property, all students donating must keep within LECOM’s current COVID guidelines. As of now, students donating are required to wear face masks. Additionally, when Angelina Stone, MSC President, donates the items to the CoC on April 15th, she will be required to wear a face mask in order to abide by the school’s COVID guidelines as well.
