They provide free counseling, support, burial services, and financial help in these difficult times. They also spread awareness and bring people in the community who have dealt with the same tragedy together to create a local support system. Last year, WHC got involved with this organization and will be volunteering with them again this year. Emma's Footprints is going to talk about their mission since we will be working with them as well as their personal stories of losing a child so we can better understand how to handle these sensitive subjects when we are physicians and maybe even parents someday.March 19, 2019 at 7:40 AMApprovedEmergency Medicine Club Tourniquet SalesEmergency Medicine03/19/201904/16/2019This event is aimed at preparing our students for one of the worst possible scenarios they may come across in their day to day lives. Building off of the Wilderness Medicine Club's first aid kit sale, it is common to carry a tourniquet alongside your kit for dire circumstances. Current research shows the significant decrease in traumatic mortality when a tourniquet is applied to uncontrollable extremity bleeds. We hope that by running this fundraiser our students will be safer and better prepared for the unforeseen circumstances that have unfortunately become all too common in today's day and age. The cost for each unit will be at most will be $29.99; however depending on number we are looking at ordering in bulk to reduce cost for our students.
