There are other events that are planned for that week that Nevin told me he sent in a request for. The event would start around 530 and end by 7pm. The main goal of this event is to have a fun event where MS1s and MS2s can interact. I already emailed Brian King and he mentioned that the field is available to use as long as it gets approved. As far as Covid protocol, because the entirety of the event is outside there should be no need for any masking or social distancing.

The event will take place at Kearsarge VFD (4930 West Street, Erie, PA 16509) from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The first part of the day (11:00 AM–12:30 PM) will be sensory-friendly (quiet, no sirens or loud noises), followed by general public hours from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM. Emergency Medicine Club will have a table with member volunteers doing blood pressure checks and handing out information about first aid to the community. This will provide our club members with a great chance to engage with the community, connect with local EMS and fire, and represent LECOM.

Currently, only 25% of radiologists are women. During their talk, they will introduce students to the potential career paths in radiology, speak about lifestyle, and what it is like to be a female in the field. The presentation will take place over zoom, and is anticipated to be about 1.5 hours.

A minimum of one adult staff member from the YMCA (usually 2-3 are present on a regular basis however) will be present at every meeting to be in control and take responsibility for the program and children. The purpose of the presence of the LECOM students once a week at the Kid's Club, a site run by the YMCA off campus from LECOM, is to help mentor and facilitate personal growth in the children of the program. The price limit is set at $25 max per student and is volunteer only. This is an event loved by children and staff at the YMCA and is a big deal for the kids, one they look forward to all year! the gifts are given out by the volunteers who purchased them at our weekly volunteer sessions. We would like to offer 2.5 hours for total participation in the shopping for, organization of and participation in this event by the volunteers.

Dr. Alexander is a current PGY-2 Internal Medicine Resident at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She will share her professional journey through LECOM, highlighting her academic pathway, clinical rotation experiences, and the factors that guided her decision to pursue a career in Internal Medicine. This presentation will be conducted via Zoom on 12/3/25 from 6:30-7:30 pm to offer valuable insight for students interested in Internal Medicine or seeking guidance in shaping their own medical careers.
	February 11, 2019 at 4:01 PM	Rejected	Jo Coffee Fundraiser	SOMA	02/11/2019	02/21/2019	I would place a bulk order for coffee once the fundraiser ends and then the coffee would be shipped to LECOM. I will then distribute it to students who have purchased. Forty two percent of the proceeds will go to us. Then half of the money can be donated to Love and Hope Children's Home in El Salvador via their website to help buy medication for the children there. The other half will go to Dr. Mendez, an infectious disease physician, at the San Rafael Hospital in San Salvador. She will use the money to buy baby formula for HIV positive mothers and toward installing indoor plumbing for them.

This fundraiser aims to raise money to reduce the out-of-pocket expense for students who want to attend Convocation next year (2024). A flyer will be sent out via email for students to show at Blaze Pizza for their purchase to be counted towards our fundraiser. COVID mitigation plan: We will follow the protocols set out by the school.

I'd like to nominate our support for International Rescue Committee. This organization is very well known and has been around for quite some time. They are based out of New York and they have received 4 stars from Charity Navigator. Their primary goal is to respond to humanitarian crises all over the world as well as in the U.S, including bringing primary care to refugees and at risk populations. This organization spends 89% of its budget on programs, which mean the majority of our funds raised for them will go to helping people in need. I would still like to use the coffee fundraiser as mentioned before from Jo Coffee, since we will be getting 42% of sales toward our fundraiser. Other fundraisers I've looked into do not offer this much turn around on sales. Once the orders are finished being placed, I would submit the order and then the coffee would be delivered to LECOM for me to distribute to students who have purchased. Then once LECOM has recieved the fundraiser check from the coffee company we can easily make the payment to IRC online. Please let me know if there is anything I can clarify and I welcome any feedback on this project. Thank you for considering my request.

Taking place in the OPP lab, we will be learning in a lecture based format the basics of airway management and how to intubate on the 8th, and on the 9th we will return to perform hands on intubation training. This will be a fantastic opportunity for all of us who are interested in Anesthesia or EM, especially as we approach our clinical years ahead.

Dr. Risavi would like to come in on a Saturday to talk to EM club members about respiratory emergencies and intubation as an important clinical skill. There will be a presentation to discuss the importance of airway management, and to familiarize students with protocols and techniques. There will then be a hands-on learning opportunity for students to participate in practicing intubation techniques. It will give our members the chance to interact with one another while learning valuable skills they will learn more about on rotations. All equipment for the interactive activity will be provided by Dr. Risavi. A sign-up sheet will be provided for students to participate with a maximum of 30 students allowed to sign-up. Students will adhere to current COVID Regulations set by LECOM. Our Club Advisor, Dr. Risavi, has approved of the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Saturday November 11th in Pharmacy Lecture Hall A and the OPP Lab from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Dr. Risavi will be leading the event which will consist of several lectures as well as hands-on skills stations with a practical at the end. This is an opportunity for members to obtain hands-on experience and to learn new skills that are essential for any specialty. Additionally, this certification is similar to a certification that is required during residency (advanced trauma life support), allowing members to gain valuable knowledge on information for the future. The ITLS certification will last all members 3 years. Members who decide to participate will need to purchase and read ITLS for Emergency Care Providers – 9th edition from VitalSource. Additionally, the certification itself will cost approximately $30. The anticipated event will be held on the following dates and times: July 28: 530pm - 10pm July 29: 7:30am - 5pm July 30: 7:30am - 4pm As there are multiple skills stations, we are requesting lecture hall C and D as well as study rooms 1-3 to be reserved on the second floor. Our advisor, Dr. Dr. Risavi will be present. There will also be several other clinicians to assist Dr. Risavi with the event and help administer the practicals. We are anticipating around 20 participants. The educational purpose of this event is to expose students to critical, life saving skills that can be applied to a variety of specialties. This will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to gain hands-on experience and knowledge, while also being able to obtain a certification. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who attends the event. 2.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending. 3.) We will abide by LECOMs current mask policy at the time of the event.
