The goal of this event is to contribute to the new "LECALM" initiative. We aim to provide a space for students to decompress and practice meditation techniques in hopes of improving mental health and wellness. Each month will feature a different type of meditation practice. Students will begin by learning about the meditation topic and then doing a group practice. Topics will be chosen by Dr. Hendryx. The first topic is "an introduction to meditation". It will cover benefits of meditation, goals of meditation, and different basic breathing techniques. Each session will be 30mins-1hr. Students will sign up via a google sheets form as to limit the number of students in the yoga room. The max number of students is 20. In terms of COVID risk mediation, students will be asked to not attend if they have any of the following symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, headache, GI upset). Additionally, yoga mats will be adequately spaced out. The event will follow all wellness center protocol as instructed by Ms. Zemenak.
