We have been working with a local shop, Creative Imprints, in addition to Matthew Breeze to ensure the proper LECOM logo (from the powerpoint file) was used to develop mockups. We will be offering students 2 different sweatshirt options, one being a 50/50 cotton/poly blend crewneck (cheaper option), and a second (more durable option) Champion cotton/poly/black poly power blend, moisture wicking, rib-hemmed crewneck. Both sweatshirt options will have the LECOM logo embroidered across the center of the chest. Sweatshirts will range in raw price from $32.30-$46.55 depending on how many of each sweatshirt option are purchased. The $40 and $55 cost per sweatshirt permits us a cushion for fundraising of about $7-$8 per sweatshirt purchased (divided between both clubs). Students will have the ability to select from a range of color choices (as approved from Matthew Bresee) as well as from sizes S-3XL when purchasing. See attached mockups for reference. The sale will be open to students between Thursday November 14-Wednesday November 20th. Sweatshirt orders will be placed with Creative Imprints the following day, Thursday November 21st. Sweatshirt orders will be completed (per Creative Imprints representative Abigail) by December 13th. This permits Peds Club and WHMS Executive Boards to distribute sweatshirts during finals week so students may purchase them as gifts for the holiday if they choose. We will plan to disburse sweatshirts to students during the day on Tuesday 12/17 in the cafeteria. Final fundraising amounts will be determined once all payments have been collected, and once raw costs for the sweatshirts have been used to pay Creative Imprints. Pediatrics Club and WHMS will then evenly split the proceeds for fundraising purposes.November 3, 2025 at 4:32 PMApprovedPediatrics Club and Womens Health and Medical Society - LECOM Embroidered Sweatshirt SalePediatrics Club11/03/202511/12/2025Pediatrics Club and WHMS will be partnering to hold a LECOM embroidered sweatshirt sale. This is an incredible opportunity for students to give back to the community through a life-saving cause. Educational Purpose: This drive is not only a way to help patients in need of bone marrow transplants, but also a volunteer opportunity for our members to engage in healthcare advocacy and community service. We’ve ordered 75 cheek swab kits from the official Be the Match organization. Participants will provide a DNA sample by swabbing the inside of their cheek and placing the swab in a sterile tube provided in the kit. The process is quick, painless, and can potentially save a life. One member from each club will be stationed at our sign-up table to answer questions and assist participants with the swabbing process. We are planing to host the event every day at lunch from Monday October 27 - Thursday October 30thApril 16, 2025 at 8:32 AMApprovedPediatric & Fetal Surgeon Guest Speaker EventACOS-MSS04/16/202505/22/2025The Surgery Club, Pediatrics Club, and Women's Health and Medical Society plan to host a guest speaker event featuring Dr. Tiffany Deihl, M.D., who is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Dr. Carolina Pinzon-Guzman, who is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. This event will occur on Zoom and be open to all LECOM-Erie students. Dr. Cole-Jeffrey will be the faculty advisor attending the session. Dr. Deihl and Dr. Pinzon-Guzman will both speak about their prospective fields including their paths to becoming board-certified surgeons, training, and what their fields consist of (including common procedures and a typical day in the life). Students will have the opportunity to converse with the physicians and to ask questions about their fields. This event is an amazing opportunity for all students to learn about the path to both surgery and OBGYN from the perspective of two attending surgeons while also learning about the diversity of the fields.November 11, 2025 at 4:43 PMApprovedPBL Breakfast @ BayfrontMental Health Task Force11/11/202512/05/2025The Mental Health Task Force would like to request permission to host a PBL Breakfast for first- and second-year students at the Bayfront campus on December 5th from 9-11 am. The event would take place in the Bayfront cafeteria on a table (that the task force will bring) along the righthand wall in front of the Coca-Cola display case and will include pre-packaged breakfast items such as muffins, granola bars, and Pop-Tarts. A Mental Health Task Force member and a faculty member, Dr. Waters, will be present for the entire event to make sure everything goes smoothly. This event is intended to support student wellbeing during a period of increased academic stress, as PBL students are currently approaching finals. Many students have limited time in the morning to prepare or eat breakfast, and providing convenient, individually packaged food options encourages proper nourishment, allows for a brief study break, and fosters positive peer interaction. We believe this event will promote community support, reduce stress, and reinforce healthy habits during a demanding time in the semester.November 23, 2018 at 12:43 PMApprovedPaws For PatientsMental Health Task Force11/23/201812/06/2018Event for students to interact with the Paws for Patients therapy dogs in order to relieve some stress and take their mind off of studying for a bit. We have gotten the permission from Abiding Hope Lutheran Church on West Grandview Blvd to host this event in their multipurpose room. We are hoping to hold the event on December 6th at 6pm-8:30pm. We are aware that the event is only a few weeks away. It took more time to find a suitable date for the therapy dogs, church, and academic schedules. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.January 21, 2025 at 10:49 PMApprovedPathoma Boards Review with PGY-2 Pathology ResidentPathology Club01/21/202501/29/2025Pathology Club will host an interactive boards review with Dr. Whitney (Stolnicki) Rich MD, a PGY-2 pathology resident at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh.
