She, along with a couple of current residents, will be speaking about the UPMC in Central PA (previously UPMC Pinnacle) Family Medicine Residency program on Thursday, September 16th at 5:30PM over Zoom. They will be sharing general information on the program including curriculum, schedule, and the community. The info session will be followed by a Q&A session. Anyone is welcome to come prepared with questions about their residency program, questions about applications, or just come ready to listen.

We will be purchasing pizza from Maria's Pizza and will submit a reimbursement form. In addition to sharing our planned volunteer experiences and future events, we will also have a table set up for students to make cards. Students will be able to count the time spent making the cards as volunteer hours.

We will be purchasing pizza from Maria's Pizza and will submit a reimbursement form. For safe distribution, we will make sure that the pizza is precut. Additionally, we will have one person distributing the slices while wearing cloves and a mask. All beverages will be individually packaged. In addition to sharing our planned volunteer experiences and future events, we will also have a table set up for students to make cards. Students will be able to count the time spent making the cards as volunteer hours.

Payment will be accepted via Venmo and cash. For pickup, we will have multiple contactless pickup dates/times available. The first two pick up days will be 2/8 and 2/15 between 11:30am and 12:30pm in the cafeteria. Additional dates will be decided when the new board takes over. The following board members will be involved: Katherine Dobosh, Zachary Sturmi, Benjamin Sallavanti, Erin Pfeffer, Michele Robillard.

For pickup, we will have multiple contactless pickup dates/times available. Currently we would like to have pick up dates on April 18th, 24th, 25th, and 26th between 12 pm and 12:50 pm in the cafeteria. During this time we would also like to encourage new members to join SAACOFP by handing out free SAACOFP merchandise such as pens and pins.

March 4, 2021 at 5:20 PMApprovedSAACOFP Med TreadFamily Medicine Club03/04/202103/09/2021The Student Association of the ACOFP is continuing our annual tradition of a national service project with the Family Med-Tread Virtual 5K. The race can be done at any time before March 27th, at any location and at any pace. A downloadable bib, medal and a t-shirt will be directly shipped to any participant after registration! A percentage of each race registration is donated to the Skin of Color Society, an organization dedicated to closing the knowledge gap on dermatologic disorders by recognizing the importance and challenges involved in identifying them on different skin tones.

Safety precautions for COVID, including masks and social distancing, will be enforced.

Volunteers would be removing invasive Buckthorn saplings and shrubs from the area to keep the trails and grounds accessible for the community. Work gloves and shovels would be provided. We would like to provide volunteers with lunch after cleanup. Asbury woods has given us permission to use their picnic tables on site. Pizza will be purchased and we will submit a reimbursement form. For safe distribution, gloves would be used for distribution of the food and those handling the food would be wearing masks as well. We will also have disinfectant on hand to clean down surfaces and hand sanitizer in the event bathrooms are unavailable. All beverages will be individually packaged.

They will be sharing with us their journey through medical school and reasons why they have chosen to pursue a Family Medicine Residency. This will be followed with a Q&A session to address any topic members are interested in.

August 9, 2019 at 11:56 AMCancelledRuck the BayLECOM Military Medicine Club08/09/201908/30/2019Ruck the Bay is a donation/fundraising event for the EUMA's Liberty House which raises supplies and money for veterans. On October 13th, Participants ruck, walk, or run a 10K with a bag filled with donations (canned food, clothes, coins etc). LECOM Military Medicine would like to collect supplies from the student body to carry and then donate on the day of the event, starting on Aug 30th. We would like the ability to set up a collection box to collect donations during Lunch and in the mornings in the LECOM Cafeteria. The collections will take place from August 30th to October 11th. Due to the size of the event, the press will be expected to be present, but we did not contact them ourselves. On the day of the event , members of LECOM's Military Medicine club will be wearing club shirts with the LECOM name on them as well as carrying the donated items to the final collection point.
