This will include a meeting with a viewing of a short youtube video that centers around identifying abuse. This video has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Laton, and he will also be moderating the event and leading discussions about the video. This event will take place in the OPP lab. We hope this event will be a great way to bring awareness to students regarding sensitive topics, and hopefully provide them with tools and resources they can take with them in their future career as physicians. This fundraiser would lessen the out of pockets costs to try and garner more people to travel and represent at a national level at convocation. This is a "digital" fundraiser. People will use the link we provide and place their order for a dozen donuts online. They'll then receive a confirmation code that can be taken to any Krispy Kreme across the country for them to receive their order. We did this to try and promote SAAO-Erie at a national level.

The purpose of this dinner would be to offer a relaxed environment that the current executive board and forum writers could meet with the newly voted executive board and forum writers to foster a seamless transition/changing of the guard. At this dinner, new ideas for the 2025-2026 academic year will be discussed, forum writers can work together to share tips on how to lead successful forums and retain members. We would also like to invite several faculty members to this dinner to encourage conversation about osteopathy in practice, tips for board studying and rotations, and convocation preparation. We would like to invite Dr. Stephany, Dr. Erik Esper, Dr. Hendryx, Dr. Balmer, Dr. Cukierkski, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Chludzinski, and Dr. Rowane to name a few. We have 35 members planning on attending convocation in March so this would also be a great way to build excitement for this trip. We are really hoping this dinner can serve as a "Jump Start" to the new year with the new chapter leadership and also jumpstart our trip to Orlando. We are allocating $350 for this dinner to offset costs of food for the members in attendance. Any costs of food over this amount will be assumed by the individuals there in attendance. This dinner will be open to the old and new exec board members, old and new forum writers.

We will meet every other Tuesday, but having all Tuesdays reserved will let us make changes in the our schedule depending on the practical schedule. Students will have the opportunity to practice and ask any questions they may have before the practicals that will be occurring the following day, Wednesdays, in class lab. Both will take place in the OPP lab at the LECOM-ERIE main building. The MS1 forum will take place from 5:30-6:30pm. The MS2 forum will follow from 6:30-7:30 pm. All in attendance are required to be SAAO members and have their local and national dues paid.

March 1, 2023 at 3:53 PMApprovedSAAO Cookies and Cheesecake fundraiserSAAO03/01/202303/01/2023We are requesting to hold a cookie dough and cheesecake sale from Stanganellis, a local family-owned business. This fundraiser aims to raise money to reduce the out-of-pocket expense for students who want to attend Convocation next year (2024). The cookie dough will be offered in 5 different flavors, and the cheesecake will be offered in 3 different flavors. Information will be collected through an excel sheet that will be sent out in the email announcement. Once the order has been placed and paid for. Stanganellis needs about 14 days to process the order. The order will be delivered to me, and then myself and one more board member of SAAO will set up a pick-up place in the LECOM cafeteria or Voora lounge. Once the dates become more apparent, students will be told what day to expect their order and how long we will be in the cafeteria for them to pick up the cookies and cheesecake. Our COVID mitigation plan: Students who are handing out the orders will wear a mask, and students picking up their orders will also wear masks. The food will be packaged individually, so there is no issue with contamination.

This meeting would be to discuss logistics about the conference, and would allow for students to ask questions over lunch.

We would sell them for around $70.00 with LECOM embroidered on them. Additionally, students could get their own name embroidered on the jacket as well for an additional $10.00. We would use the website Threadfellow to order the jackets once we send out a google form and know which students would like to purchase them and receive payment. The jackets without any embroidery on the website are between $46 and $55 dollars. Once they arrive and are completed we would distribute them in the Vora Lounge. We will have an option for 3rd and 4th years to pay for shipping directly to themselves. Note: the request for the Vora Lounge is not for the dates selected. Those dates will be the selling window, and distribution will depend on how long Threadfellow takes to embroider the jackets.

A spreadsheet will be sent out so that students will be able to sign up to be on a team, each led by a LECOM professor as their team "captain". Students can also pay $5 for an arm's length of tickets to win basket raffles, with items donated from SAAO. We hope this will be a great way for students to connect not only with each other, but their professors, and also a great opportunity to support a local business.

The Community Blood Bank will send us a form to distribute to students regarding who will qualify for blood donations and how to make an appointment. We would have the event from November 17th to the 21st, where SAAO would encourage students to make an appointment to donate in order to earn 2 volunteer hours. We will be donating to the United Way of Erie County Community Schools, who will then distribute the supplies to students in need within the schools of Erie county. Students could donate an item for 30 minutes of volunteer time, with a maximum of 2 hours worth of volunteer hours. Additionally, students could make cash donations of any amount, which would be collected by SAAO and used to purchase supplies, for a maximum of 30 minutes of volunteer time. SAAO will send out a spreadsheet where students can sign up to bring items, as well as a list with items requested by the United Way of Erie. We will have students drop off the supplies on the front tables as you enter the LECOM building in a bag with their name on it. SAAO would then collect these items at the end of each day, as well as purchase more with the money donated, then at the end of the week take the supplies to the donation center.

This apparel will help spread the SAAO club awareness and help encourage new members to join to grow their OPP knowledge. We plan on trying to find a local apparel company to fulfill our orders and we want to offer this design on t-shirts, long sleeves, crew necks, quarter zips, and sweatshirts. Price will be determined once the design is approved and a company is chosen.
