We will be emailing out a picture of the shirt and a spread sheet for persons interested in buying one to sign up. We are hoping to distribute the shirts over the course of a few days during lunch in either the Vora lounge or the cafeteria.
	November 13, 2018 at 8:16 PM	Approved	Med Gala 2019	Class of 2022	11/13/2018	01/18/2019	The LECOM Gastby Med Gala will be a formal and dance attended by first and second year osteopathic medical students. The event will include dinner that will be catered by either the location’s in-house services and will have a dance floor for those interested. Check in for guests will begin at 7PM and dinner will be served from 8-9PM. The dance floor will then be opened up from 8-11pm for any interested in dancing. Dr. Johannessen or Dr. Allen will be the faculty advisor on site the evening and security/paramedics will be hired if required by LECOM policy. The event will be strictly non alcoholic and a zero tolerance policy will be in place for those arriving intoxicated, consuming alcohol at the event, or are planning on consuming and driving alcohol later. The event planning committee is open to options for ensuring this policy is upheld. The estimated attendance for the event after recent class surveys for OMS1and OMS2 students is 300. Tickets will be sold at a price between $30 and $40 each if purchased before the end of Fall Semester and $40 if purchased the week of the event. A photo booth may also be present which would assist in raising funds. A target net fundraising goal will be $1500, and will consist of a portion being dedicated to class funds and the remainder to the community non-profit.

Same logo as the fall sale (LECOM Communications Department approved of the design previously). We received a lot of requests to expand the sale to include faculty/staff. We're going to figure out a way to expand the communication about this fundraiser so that everyone who wants a jacket can get them! Going to start the sale as soon as it is approved and have it run for about 2 weeks so the event start and end dates are not really applicable.

Students will be separated and groups and will be assigned to a room at a particular time slot with 2 interviewers to simulate the actual interview. 10-15 minutes will be given afterwards for feedback and advice. 30 minutes will be accomodated for afterwards for cleanup and further questions.

We have gotten the permission from Abiding Hope Lutheran Church on West Grandview Blvd to host this event in their multipurpose room. We are hoping to hold the event on December 6th at 6pm-8:30pm. We are aware that the event is only a few weeks away. It took more time to find a suitable date for the therapy dogs, church, and academic schedules. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our requested speaker is Dr. Gerald Garcia, local comprehensive plastic surgeon. Dr. Garcia spoke with SOSA last year and we would be delighted to have him return. It will be a panel consisting of an oncologist, emergency medicine physician, and a geriatrician. They will detail their day to us and any do's and don'ts regarding end of life care. They are open to any questions participants may have.
	November 9, 2018 at 12:29 PM	Rejected	Overflow Shelter Foot Clinic	SOMA	11/09/2018	11/28/2018	Over the past few years, LECOM SOMA has conducted a foot clinic at the overflow homeless shelters on Monday evenings between December and late March. The overflow shelter is sponsored by a local place of worship that switches locations every 2 weeks. These shelters offer overnight shelter to the homeless of Erie during the winter months. The overflow shelter is run by volunteers from the sponsoring church as well as local community organizations including Community Health Net and EUMA: Healthcare for the Homeless Partnerships. The role of the volunteering LECOM student includes providing foot care to individuals. This includes washing and drying of the feet, pulse measurements, testing for paresthesias, and identifying cuts/ bruises/ signs of infection. A H&P is taken of each individual and recorded in files that are monitored by Faith Community Nurse, Barbara Lewis, who uses the information for podiatrist and physician follow-ups. Additionally, other nurses are on staff during the entire duration of the foot clinic for consultation by the medical student. Not only are the medical students providing care to the individual, but they are also conveying a fresh, empathetic perception of the healthcare system (as most of these individuals have been burnt by the system). A training session will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 6:30pm. Students will be introduced to the community and specific problems faced by the homeless population and what is expected of them at the foot clinic. Attendance at this training is required for participation. The first foot clinic will be held on December 3rd and the event runs from 7-9:30pm. The last scheduled date is March 25. A group of 3-4 students (plus myself or Alanna Grafius: Local Healthcare Disparities Coordinators) will volunteer two Mondays in a row followed by a new group of students.

	October 26, 2018 at 1:03 PM	Approved	Teddy Bear Clinic at the Festival of Trees	SOMA	10/26/2018	11/23/2018	This is one of the events at the Festival of Trees hosted by St. Vincent's Hospital and it is specifically for kids. Kids can bring their own bear or buy one at the festival and we would use our stethoscopes to pretend to listen to the bears hearts and lungs. The shifts are 2-3 hours long.

A Teddy Bear Clinical will be present where families can have a bear examined by St. Vincent Hospital Team or medical student volunteers.

Plan is to reserve the LECOM Wellness Center basketball gym and have a a tournament style bracket for players (4v4). Teams would pay as well as individuals can have individual donations. All proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.
