Dr. Coughlin will then walk students through how to close different size surgical incisions, using basic suturing techniques. Students will use kits provided by the Simulation club. These kits will be bought off of amazon by the club, then the students attending the event will repay the club. These kits are $10.00 each. The clinic will be held in the red barn at the Student Learning Center.

The Family Medicine Club connected with her an Osteopathic Family Medicine Conference in Hershey. She will be speaking about her experience as an Osteopathic Family Physician on November 16th, at 5:30PM over Zoom. She will be sharing general information about her path to become a family medicine physician, her osteopathic training, and offering any advice to current students. The speaking event will be followed by a Q&A session. Anyone is welcome to come prepared with questions about her life, asking for advice, or to just listen. The event help help aspiring family medicine medical students learn more from a current osteopathic physician. Also, it will be a great meeting for those not sure of a specialty to learn more about the field. No food will be involved in this event. Dr. D'Amico is a Philadelphia College Of Osteopathic Medicine graduate who completed his residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. D'Amico is going to speak to club members about his path to cardiology and the field of cardiology. Dr. D'Amico will also be answering questions including but not limited to medical school, residency, fellowships, cardiology or any other general questions you may have! The event itself will be happening on Thursday 10/23 at 6 pm via Zoom so please keep an eye out for that! Club members will be able to ask questions to Dr. D'Amico about his journey or his advice as well. Our speaker is also our advisor, so he will be in attendance as well.

He is a LECOM graduate and is currently the president of national ACOS. His experience in the operating room as a trauma surgeon and surgical critical care will allow him to provide a unique experience to the ACOS members. He will be sharing his journey throughout medical school, residency, fellowship and now as an attending. There will also be a Q&A portion of the event at the end of the talk. Educational purpose: the educational purpose of this event is to provide a first-hand perspective on trauma surgery as some students may not have been exposed to this specialty yet. This will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to engage with and learn from a practicing surgeon. COVID mitigation protocols: this meeting will be held on zoom.

Currently, he is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at LECOM. He also serves as Regional EMS Medical Director for the PA Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. He will be presenting to the LECOM internal medicine club to give a presentation about "How to Succeed on Rotations and Residency" while also explaining the transition from the emergency room to internal medicine care. In doing so, students will get a better understanding of how the two fields work together in admitting and treating a patient, providing an efficient standard of patient care. Club members will be able to attend the presentation to learn how to best prepare and stand out during their rotations and get the residency of their choice. Dr. Risavi will also answer any questions that students may have about rotations or the field of Emergency and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Lam will be speaking to students about how to pursue a career in plastic surgery and reviewing interesting plastic surgery case studies. Students will have the unique opportunity to have face to face discussions with a highly successful and successful osteopathic surgeon. This event will also allow LECOM to further strengthen its relationship with the national ACOS. This event will be held in collaboration with LECOM Seton Hill and Elmira ACOS-MSS via Zoom.

Carron will be giving a virtual presentation to the Internal Medicine Club about "How to Succeed on Rotations." Dr. Carron graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991 and completed her fellowship in Geriatrics. Club members will be able to attend the presentation to learn how to best prepare and stand out during their rotations. Dr. Carron will also answer any questions that students may have about rotations or the field of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine. As part of this presentation, the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) will be sending a medical textbook to two random participants that attend the lecture. The session will be on zoom to mitigate any COVID concerns.

It will be held in person in one of the LECOM Fitness Center Conference rooms.

The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. The event would be held most likely at Hammocks clubhouse. There will be traditional indian snacks, music, and activities to symbolize the holiday. COVID Mitigation plan: 1. All participants will be required to wear masks 2. When eating people will be required to remain 6 feet away when taking off their masks 3. If people do not feel well or feel like they have a fever they will be requested not to come. 4. There will be an attendance sheet in place for people to sign in, in a case that contact tracing would be required. Veronica Li will be the contact person for the set up and tear down the the event. Dr. Razzaque has been contacted to attend the event. Since this is a public clubhouse for Hammocks residents, no confirmation is needed to book the area since it's a public space that rarely ever occupied. There will be light refreshments and snacks so nothing significant is happening to require any proper reservation of the area.
