August 12, 2025 at 7:42 PMApprovedClass of 2028 Student Doctor of the MonthClass of 202808/12/202508/25/2025Every month of the academic school year. Each third week of the month, a nomination form will be available for students in the Class of 2028 to submit names of students in the MS2 class. The nomination form will be linked below and includes the nominee’s name and a small explanation for why they would like to nominate the student. At the end of the week, SGA, Class Board, and Class Representatives will view the submissions and determine one student who will be the Student Doctor of the Month based on their dedication to LECOM, hard work in the classroom, willingness to help other students, and other criteria. In the fourth week of every month, an email will be sent to the nominated student to notify them that they have been nominated as the Class of 2028 Student of the Month. They will be given a nominee form to fill out, which will include fun facts about the student that they are willing to share. All questions on the form are optional, and the nominee will only be required to answer questions they are comfortable with. The Student Doctor of the Month award will be open to a student from a different pathway each month (ex. An LDP student in August, PBL in September, DSP in October, etc.) so students are able to learn about their classmates in different pathways. This will be disclosed in the nomination form each month, and only students who are from the designated pathway for the month will be able to be nominated. Once the nominee fills out the nomination form, an email will be sent to the Class of 2028 including an infographic of the student that was chosen and the fun facts/answers to the questions they filled out in the form. Nomination Form (to be sent out every 3rd week of the month): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UmE7d4ZS5uLtmcw_8DoXfkX3vINzszTA9BwTf4J6RIM/preview Nominee Form (to be sent out every 4th week of the month): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1RGzYDnCcvNK-vFWFE5t1oD5Vc6_kygzU1AHuY8IgSmA/preview Purpose: We would like to create a sense of community between our class and highlight members of the Class of 2028 for their hard work and dedication to LECOM. We would also like to create camaraderie between different pathways and help students to get to know other students who they might not normally interact with. We would like to boost morale within our class and provide a fun outlet for students to learn more about each other.

Through this program, they help guide middle to high school students in their academics and social interactions as they adapt to their new life in the U.S. IMS club has been the main club from LECOM to volunteer and collaborate with the MCRC. In the past, there had been recurring volunteer events with the MCRC and IMS club; however due to COVID, these events had come to a hiatus. Now, there has been a new opportunity for IMS club to lend a hand to the MCRC with their after-school program. IMS club volunteers would come in once a week to help tutor students in math, science, and English. We would volunteer on Wednesdays from 3-5pm at the MCRC located at 554 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16503. During our time there, there will always be at least 3 adult MCRC staff members to supervise, be in control, and take responsibility for the program and the children. Clearances for PA mandated state laws, including background checks and fingerprint checks are required of all volunteers, and will be completed before attending the program. For further contact and information, you can reach out to Francesca Tronetti, the Director of Youth Services at the MCRC (814-455-0212), and/or Yuri Becerra, the Truancy Team Leader at the MCRC (814-566-3706).
