November 4, 2020 at 9:39 PMApprovedLip Sync Battle: Virtual EditionOncology Club11/04/202001/09/2021Lip Sync Battle: Virtual Edition is a fundraiser where teams of students and faculty from LECOM along with their family or roommates compete by submitting videos of themselves performing a lip sync. We will encourage social distancing, mask wearing, and only making the videos with people they are living with. We will compile the videos for people to watch online/remotely. Viewers will then donate money designated for certain performers, and each donation will count as a vote. The team with the largest total donation wins! All proceeds from donations will go to Children's Miracle Network at St. Vincent Hospital with Allegheny Health Network of Erie, PA. The window for viewing and donating will be from Jan 9 to 23, 2021.

This fundraiser will be open to the college of medicine and podiatry. It will be open for 2 weeks. A google forms will be sent out to allow people to put their orders in. The dispersion of the caps will be done at a later date. Surgery club will receive 30% of the funds.
September 14, 2020 at 6:44 PMApprovedChipotle fundraiserMentoring09/14/202010/20/2020LECOM's Mentoring Club is requesting approval to hold a fundraiser for the Erie Height's YMCA Kids Club with Chipotle Mexican Restaurant. We understand that the current circumstances have made fundraising events almost impossible, but Chipotle is accommodating fundraisers by providing a code that could be used for all online orders, so as to avoid large gatherings of people. Mentoring Club hopes to raise enough money to buy the YMCA Kids Club more games and equipment for their use, as a gesture that we are still supporting them, even if the public health emergency severely limits our ability to be involved.

The plan is to have the hike on October 4th at 10:00 AM at Wintergreen Gorge, the Cooper Road Trailhead. We are planning on providing donuts and cider at the hike. The hike should not take more than 2 hours. The address to the trailhead is: 3399 Cooper Rd, Erie, PA 16510.
February 16, 2023 at 10:51 AMApprovedCasting ClinicACOS-MSS02/16/202302/24/2023LECOM surgery club is excited to put on a casting clinic with Dr. Drew Miller. This event will give members an opportunity to learn from an orthopedic surgeon how to properly cast. The event will also be extended to the orthopedics club as it is an important skill for them to develop. As a resident at Millcreek Hospital, Dr. Miller is well versed in casting and has previous experience working with medical students. Earlier that day he will be giving the LDP pathway a lecture in casting so this event will allow students to learn the material in the classroom and then directly implement that knowledge with a hands on event. The anticipated event will be held on February 24th from 6pm-8pm in the OPP Lab. Our advisor, Dr. Melodie Chludzinski will be present. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who attends the guest lecturer event 2.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 3.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending The educational purpose of this event is to expose students to a critical skill that requires proficiency in a variety of different specialties. As some students may not have been exposed to this technique yet, this will be a fantastic opportunity to allow students to gain hands on experience and knowledge from a practicing orthopedic surgeon within the LECOM Health system.

July 31, 2024 at 12:38 PMApprovedZooBooPediatrics Club07/31/202410/17/2024LECOM students will have the opportunity to be an assistant volunteer coordinator, stand in front of the entrance gates to direct visitors with tickets, sell buttons to visitors, be a train assistant, be a carousel assistant, dress up as the Erie Zoo Troll, be a booth worker to hand out candy to children, dress up in an animal costume to dance in front of the DJ booth, be a miscellaneous fill-in worker, or be on call during any of the Erie Zoo Boo (trick-or-treating in the Erie Zoo) dates from 5:15-9:15 pm between Thursday October 17th - Wednesday October 30th (including every day between these dates). Students may sign up for as many dates they would like, but may not necessarily be called in to volunteer if they opt for a miscellaneous fill-in or on-call worker.

A blood stem cell donation can be a cure for blood cancer, sickle cell, and other deadly diseases. Patients and their families are counting on us to find their match. But not everyone has an equal chance - patients are more likely to match with donors from their same ethnic background. This recruitment drive will be online and completely virtual. LECOM-SOMA hopes to further educate the LECOM community, about how bone marrow donation works! There will be an information session about how bone marrow donation works, how to donate, and what the benefits of donation are. Attendees can go online to order a swab kit. Swab kits will be sent to their home and can be returned in the postage-paid envelope. No contact necessary! We will be competing throughout the month of May with other schools in our region (LECOM-SH and UNECOM) for the prized "Golden Swab"!
September 30, 2024 at 7:59 PMApprovedCustom FIGS scrubs saleLECOM Med Erie - SGA09/30/202411/01/2024LECOM SGA would like to host a figs scrubs sale where students can customize their name on the scrubs as well as the LECOM logo. This will be beneficial to students so they can wear figs scrubs on their rotations and also to lab if required. The offered scrubs colors are navy blue and ceil blue (both colors attached). The scrubs will have the LECOM logo that is already provided by Mr. Bresee and will be white. The scrub sale will start 11/1/2024 and will continue for a month. Orders will take place through a google form that automatically tracks orders. Payment will be made via Zelle to the LECOM SGA account. LECOM SGA will be able to make a profit because there is a 15% discount for bulk orders over 10. Scrubs will be passed out to students in the Vora Lounge the first week back to school after winter break during lunch period (11:30am-1pm) on Wednesday and Friday (1/8/25, 1/10/25).

Volunteers will help pack food that will be distributed to children throughout several counties in NW Pennsylvania. These BackPacks will provide food for children to eat over the weekend when school meals are not provided. The IMS club advisor, Dr. Sarah McCarthy will be present for this event and volunteers will be required to wear masks at all times and comply with LECOM's COVID-19 policies/guidelines.
January 6, 2026 at 6:00 PMApprovedSOMA Fall Columbia SaleSOMA01/06/202608/04/2026LECOM Erie SOMA will be hosting a Columbia sale which will include custom embroidery and will feature the school crest logo (attached). The event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in the early Fall Semester. A Google Form will be sent out, and the sale will run through August-September. The company we will be using is Threadfellows, we have already established a relationship and have the site ready for use in the fall pending approval. Multiple types of Columbia jackets will be offered, including vests, full zip jackets, and quarter zip jackets. Pick up will be in the LECOM cafeteria.
