This will include a meeting with a viewing of a short youtube video that centers around identifying abuse. This video has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Laton, and he will also be moderating the event and leading discussions about the video. This event will take place in the OPP lab. We hope this event will be a great way to bring awareness to students regarding sensitive topics, and hopefully provide them with tools and resources they can take with them in their future career as physicians. LECOM students work extremely hard during this time of the year and sometimes a little pick me up after a long 8am-5pm day is exactly what you need to recharge. To show appreciation for the hard work our classmates put into their studies, NeuroPsych and several parterning clubs will be providing cookies and other treats during the MS2 lunch hour on Thursday, December 4th. We will be sure to provide both gluten-free and nut-free options for those with intolerances and allergies. The following clubs have generously contributed in hopes of making this event flourish even more: - SGA - Anesthesiology Club - Orthopedics Club - Surgery Club - APAMSA More clubs may be joining as well as the date approaches!

Dr. Stillman received her medical degree and Master of Health Services Administration from LECOM and completed her residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. She is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at LECOM and an attending physician at MCH, working closely with resident physicians in psychiatry. Dr. Stillman currently works through LECOM at: -Millcreek Community Hospital -LECOM Institute for Behavioral Health -Barber Forensic -Erie Homes for Children and Adults -LECOM's 8 long-term care facilities (assisted living, skilled nursing, and secure memory care) -LECOM's Medical Cannabis Research for Generalized Anxiety and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Because of her history as a LECOM alumni and her current work experience in multiple aspects of psychiatry, Dr. Stillman is the ideal speaker as the first year medical students transition into summer. A conversation with her would give students food for thought on how they should invest in their clinical careers in the following months and beyond. Prior to the event we will open up a google document so students can pose questions for Dr. Belinda Stillman D.O. to answer. The event will be hosted over Zoom, with a link to the meeting emailed a week in advance.

During the MS2 lunch hour, the two clubs plan to purchase and upsell bubble tea from the SobaEra_Tsaocaa restaurant. Depending on their inventory, 30-40 bubble teas will be sold. The clubs will split the proceeds made at the end of the day. This fundraiser event will occur on Friday, December 5th.

Part of this partnership includes presentations from USMLE-Rx representatives to tell students about the resources available. As MS2 students approach more dedicated board study time, USMLE-Rx would like to give a presentation entitled “The Path to 250” to show students some of their best resources. The virtual presentation will be 1 hour long for any MS2 who chooses to attend, and it will be held on October 21 from 6-7:00pm. The event will be held on zoom or google meet and will be only virtual.

As part of this partnership, USMLE-Rx gives presentations to SOMA students at schools to let them know about what resources are available. USMLE-Rx will be giving a presentation to MS1 students entitled “Mastering Med School” to show them what they can be doing as first year students and beyond to be successful in class and on boards. The meeting will be held on zoom or google meet and will be entirely virtual.

Dr. Jung will be detailing his path to becoming a surgeon, describing his residency and clinical experience, and permitting an open Q/A session so students can become more familiar with the field. Dr. Chludzinski will be present at this event. Furthermore, here are the COVID protocols that I ensure are upheld at all ACOS events: 1.) We will have a full roster of every individual who has signed up for the clinic 2.) We will have a check-in for all members and staff who attend the suturing clinic 3.) We will require masks, and uphold social distancing of at least 6 feet 4.) We will sanitize before and after the suturing clinic and mentorship discussion to avoid the potential spread of COVID 5.) We will create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending

Collections will be held in the North entrance lobby. Toys will be picked up regularly by club members and stored to then be donated. Students will be able to earn 1 hour volunteering per toy donated with a maximum of 2 hours earned. Donations and student names will be monitored via an online form.
