The donation bin will be placed in the LECOM Lobby and the items will be collected at the end of the week and delivered to the food bank. Any LECOM student can donate; they will receive volunteer hours for it (0.5 hours for 1 item donated for a maximum of 2 hours/4 items) They should put their items in a bag clearly labeled with their name and year (MS1, MS2, etc.). These dropoff boxes will be routinely checked to ensure that there is no overflow. Drop off of goods will be arranged with Madison Maurice (mmaurice@nwpafoodbank.org) at the Food Bank. Volunteers would be removing invasive Buckthorn saplings and shrubs from the area to keep the trails and grounds accessible for the community. Work gloves and shovels would be provided. We would like to provide volunteers with lunch after cleanup. Asbury woods has given us permission to use their picnic tables on site. Pizza will be purchased and we will submit a reimbursement form. For safe distribution, gloves would be used for distribution of the food and those handling the food would be wearing masks as well. We will also have disinfectant on hand to clean down surfaces and hand sanitizer in the event bathrooms are unavailable.
