This event will give students opportunities to network and interact with physicians in the Erie area. Each physician and a group of students will get 5 to 10 minutes of Q/A time. We will provide general suggestion questions via email to students of possible topics to discuss with physicians. During this one-hour session at the cafeteria, students will ask physicians questions regarding their specialties. Physicians will be gifted Starbucks gift cards for their generous time (out of the SGA budget). We are in the process of contacting physicians. Covid Protocol: Maintain a log of attendees at the event for contact tracing if possible exposure occurs Students, attendees, and speed dating stations will maintain a social distance of 6 feet. The cafeteria tables will be sanitized during set up and closure of the event. Create a screening form for all members that sign up and require that they disclose any signs and symptoms, travel history, and close contact history prior to attending All attendees will be required to remain masked for the entirety of their time volunteering. Attendees will follow all guidelines for exposure and symptoms as outlined in the portal screening form Hand sanitizer will be provided
	July 15, 2022 at 5:55 PM	Cancelled	Welcome Party + Club Fair	LECOM SGA - Medicine - Erie	07/15/2022	07/31/2022	SGA would like to host a combined event of a welcome party + club fair on July 31st, Sunday from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The event will give incoming MS1 students the opportunity to meet the faculty and MS2. For the MS2, it will provide an opportunity to catch up with peers and faculty. The event will also be an opportunity for students to learn about the different clubs on campus and how to get involved. Each club will have a table and will be required to have board members present to give information about how to get involved and to answer questions regarding their clubs. Invitations: Google form invitations will be sent out to MS1, MS2 and faculty via email. SGA board will also email invitations to faculty. Google form will serve as RSVP. Set Up: SGA Board (Khin Oo, Tyler Dobratz, Abhay Dhillon, Ananya Koka, Anthony DiCecca, Serene Bahi, and William Kim) will be at the softball field by 3:15 pm to set up. SGA board members will facilitate the delivery and pick-up of tables and food. Board members for each club will be present and responsible for setting up their club table and decorating however they would like. The food truck will arrive at 3:30 pm. The rental company's tables, chairs, and games will arrive at 3:30 pm. Both have been given directions and the location of the softball field. The food truck will leave the premises after the event. The rental company will be picking up all rental equipment by 8 pm. The tables for each club will be rented from Crazy Monkey here in Erie. The cost is $7 per table x 25 tables = $175. Funding: SGA funding. We are also requesting garbage bins or a dumpster for any waste from the food to be disposed of if LECOM is able to provide these. Food & Beverages: We would like to support the local Erie businesses and will have Spanglish food truck on site. They will park in the parking lot close to the softball field. They will be there from 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm. We will be giving out meal vouchers that can be used to get food at the truck. SGA will send out an RSVP to students and faculty where they can RSVP to receive Meal Vouchers that can be used at the food truck. The meal voucher will allow guests to have 1 empanada or vegetarian fiesta bowl. Other food that guests purchase will be out of pocket. There will be a sign-in table by the entryway of the softball field where we will keep track of attendees and give out meal vouchers. - Link to food truck menu: https://www.facebook.com/spanglishtruck. - From SAMs Club, we will buy water, soda cans, single-serving chip bags, and single-serving ice cream. Chairs, Tables, and Games: All are rented from CrazyMonkeyErie Rentals (the same company used for last year’s welcome back party rentals). Students that are tested by LECOM, and screening is negative for COVID-19 are permitted to come. Vaccinated individuals can attend mask free given that the event is outdoors; unvaccinated will wear a mask and follow social distancing protocol. The LECOM Security officer will be present for the entire time. There will be a sign-in station where all those that attend will sign for contact tracing if needed. We will buy hand sanitizer at SAM club to be present on tables for use. Clean-Up: SGA Board (Khin Oo, Tyler Dobratz, Abhay Dhillon, Ananya Koka, Anthony DiCecca, Serene Bahi, and William Kim) will serve as a clean-up crew to make sure the softball field is thoroughly cleaned, and all garbage is thrown out. We will be there to make sure the rental equipment is picked up and make sure the food truck leaves the premises on time.
	August 16, 2024 at 7:38 PM	Approved	Monthly Meditation Workshop	LECOM Med Erie - SGA	08/16/2024	08/26/2024	SGA would like to hold monthly meditation workshops led by Dr. Hendryx on the last Monday of every month at 6pm in the yoga room at the wellness center. The goal of this event is to contribute to the new "LECALM" initiative. We aim to provide a space for students to decompress and practice meditation techniques in hopes of improving mental health and wellness. Each month will feature a different type of meditation practice. Students will begin by learning about the meditation topic and then doing a group practice. Topics will be chosen by Dr. Hendryx. The first topic is "an introduction to meditation". It will cover benefits of meditation, goals of meditation, and different basic breathing techniques. Each session will be 30mins-1hr. Students will sign up via a google sheets form as to limit the number of students in the yoga room. The max number of students is 20. In terms of COVID risk mediation, students will be asked to not attend if they have any of the following symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, headache, GI upset). Additionally, yoga mats will be adequately spaced out. The event will follow all wellness center protocol as instructed by Ms. Zemenak.

Each club will have a table and will be required to have board members present to give information about how to get involved and to answer questions regarding their clubs.The tables for each club will be rented from Crazy Monkey here in Erie.The cost is $7 per table x 25 tables = $175. We are also hoping to have pizza from Virgil's Plate, estimated $28 per 24 cut pizza x 10 pizzas = $280, and water which we will buy in bulk from Sam's club, estimated $10 per 80 pack of water bottles X 4 = $40. The funding from both of these will come from our SGA funding. We are also requesting garbage bins or a dumpster for any waste from the food to be disposed of, if LECOM is able to provide these. We hope this event can allow everyone to get information about the clubs and begin pursuing their interests early in the semester! For the engraved frames for the class of 2024, the Class of 2024 Board has agreed to cover 20% of the cost, while SGA will cover the rest.

	March 20, 2026 at 8:34 PM	Approved	Meditation and Yoga Wellness Session for Medical Students	LECOM Med Erie - SGA	03/20/2026	05/09/2026	SGA will be collaborating with DO2Max to host a meditation and yoga wellness session for LECOM medical students on May 9th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the LECOM Education Center. This event is designed to support student wellness and provide an opportunity for relaxation and stress relief following a demanding academic year and board preparation period. The first hour would be a guided meditation and mindfulness session conducted by Dr. Jan Hendryx. Students will be guided through breathing exercises and meditation techniques designed to promote mental clarity, reduce stress, and encourage emotional balance. Chocolate from local Erie chocolatiers will be incorporated as part of the meditation practice as a method to enhance the perception of the body and mind. The session will provide practical tools students can incorporate into their daily routines to support long-term wellness. The second hour will drive social interactions and relaxation with general conversation and low-intensity games like cornhole. Healthy refreshments and light snacks will be available during the event to further support relaxation and encourage students to stay and connect with their peers in a calm and supportive environment. This event is rooted in promoting student wellness, resilience, and community. The meditation session provides physical relaxation and stress relief, as well as encourages mindfulness and mental reset. Together, these activities aim to create a restorative space where students can recharge and reconnect with themselves and their classmates. Student volunteers will assist with setup, check-in, and event coordination to ensure the session runs smoothly. SGA will organize volunteers, prepare materials, and create a welcoming atmosphere that supports a meaningful and rejuvenating experience for all participants. An excel spreadsheet will be sent to collect participant count, with registration to be first come first serve.

The event will allow students to gain insight into some helpful tips. The event will be on October 17th from 6 PM – 7 PM. The three MS3 students that have been selected are Ronnie Lott, Sam Wlasowicz, and Jayleen Everett. The selected students have been approved by Dr.Kalmey. A google form will be provided ahead of time for students to submit any questions they want to ask the presenters. This will be a great event for students to gain some insight from peers that very recently went through the process.

I believe that this event presents as a meaningful opportunity for our club members to gather and support the greater Erie community. It also helps raise awareness and educate the public on Alzheimer’s, a pertinent disease that we will for sure be encountering in both our didactic and clinical education. The fundraiser walk will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 and will be located at Perry Square, Erie, PA. Volunteers will help with set-up, passing out refreshments, help with advocacy efforts, and cheer along walk participants. The volunteering period will span from 7:00am - 11am. Participating volunteers will also receive a free t-shirt.
