All items are individually wrapped for COVID safety. Students will be able to come into the Vora lounge from 11:30 am - 1: 00 pm to pick up their books (Maintaining social distancing and room capacity rules). March 20, 2026 at 8:34 PMPending (14d, 3h) Meditation and Yoga Wellness Session for Medical StudentsLECOM Med Erie - SGA03/20/202605/09/2026SGA will be collaborating with DO2Max to host a meditation and yoga wellness session for LECOM medical students on May 9th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the LECOM Education Center. This event is designed to support student wellness and provide an opportunity for relaxation and stress relief following a demanding academic year and board preparation period. The first hour would be a guided meditation and mindfulness session conducted by Dr. Jan Hendryx. Students will be guided through breathing exercises and meditation techniques designed to promote mental clarity, reduce stress, and encourage emotional balance. Chocolate from local Erie chocolatiers will be incorporated as part of the meditation practice as a method to enhance the perception of the body and mind. The session will provide practical tools students can incorporate into their daily routines to support long-term wellness. The second hour will drive social interactions and relaxation with general conversation and low-intensity games like cornhole. Healthy refreshments and light snacks will be available during the event to further support relaxation and encourage students to stay and connect with their peers in a calm and supportive environment. This event is rooted in promoting student wellness, resilience, and community. The meditation session provides physical relaxation and stress relief, as well as encourages mindfulness and mental reset. Together, these activities aim to create a restorative space where students can recharge and reconnect with themselves and their classmates. Student volunteers will assist with setup, check-in, and event coordination to ensure the session runs smoothly. SGA will organize volunteers, prepare materials, and create a welcoming atmosphere that supports a meaningful and rejuvenating experience for all participants. An excel spreadsheet will be sent to collect participant count, with registration to be first come first serve.

The event will allow students to gain insight into some helpful tips. The event will be on October 17th from 6 PM – 7 PM. The three MS3 students that have been selected are Ronnie Lott, Sam Wlasowicz, and Jayleen Everett. The selected students have been approved by Dr.Kalmey. A google form will be provided ahead of time for students to submit any questions they want to ask the presenters. This will be a great event for students to gain some insight from peers that very recently went through the process.

I believe that this event presents as a meaningful opportunity for our club members to gather and support the greater Erie community. It also helps raise awareness and educate the public on Alzheimer’s, a pertinent disease that we will for sure be encountering in both our didactic and clinical education. The fundraiser walk will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 and will be located at Perry Square, Erie, PA. Volunteers will help with set-up, passing out refreshments, help with advocacy efforts, and cheer along walk participants. The volunteering period will span from 7:00am - 11am. Participating volunteers will also receive a free t-shirt.

The Community Blood Bank will send us a form to distribute to students regarding who will qualify for blood donations and how to make an appointment. We would have the event from November 17th to the 21st, where SAAO would encourage students to make an appointment to donate in order to earn 2 volunteer hours. We would like to offer both a short and long sleeve t shirt in a standard Gildan cotton t shirt in grey and navy blue colors. We believe that our costing will range between $10 and $12 and we would sell them with a $5 markup to help generate funds for our convocation trip planned for March 2024. We expect that our costing will go down with an increase quantity of shirts ordered. Our executive board will coordinate t-shirt orders during our regularly scheduled forums. We will take orders in person and via email from our members, collect funds in form of check/cash prior to placing the order with the company, and then distribute the apparel at one of our biweekly forums. Only members of the SAAO would be able to purchase the club shirt.

December 11, 2025 at 9:36 AMApprovedSAAO Columbia SaleSAAO12/11/202501/26/2026SAAO would like to sell Columbia jackets to students. We would sell them for around $70.00 with LECOM embroidered on them. Additionally, students could get their own name embroidered on the jacket as well for an additional $10.00. We would use the website Threadfellow to order the jackets once we send out a google form and know which students would like to purchase them and receive payment. The jackets without any embroidery on the website are between $46 and $55 dollars. Once they arrive and are completed we would distribute them in the Vora Lounge. We will have an option for 3rd and 4th years to pay for shipping directly to themselves. Note: the request for the Vora Lounge is not for the dates selected. Those dates will be the selling window, and distribution will depend on how long Threadfellow takes to embroider the jackets.
