We will be making 65 of these shirts in a navy blue color. All shirts will have the words, 'SAAO' on the front, and have an asclepius skeletal snake on the back with the phrase 'SAAO JUST D.O. IT'. The attached designs will be ordered.

We will be making 35 of these shirts in a light blue color. Additionally, if anyone would like to purchase a shirt, we will be ordering shirts to sell to students with a similar design but in a darker blue shade for $20.00 each. All shirts will say SAAO Lecom Erie on the front with an anatomical question mark on the back. The darker blue shirts that will be for sale for all students will additionally have "OMT... I use it, D.O. you?" on the back. The attached designs will be ordered, however the shirt colors will be light blue (for forum writers) and darker blue (for purchase). We will store the shirts and students can purchase them at any time during throughout the semester during forums or if they contact SAAO E-board. Funds raised from the T-shirts will be used for future events and convocation costs.

We will have our first clinic on 9/11, with each subsequent clinic being on the first Wednesday of every month. They will be from 5:30-7:30 PM in the at the Plaza 38 medical center. This will give students first hand experience with patient interactions while also giving them a chance to practice OMM under the supervision of LECOM Faculty. This clinic will adhere to applicable state, federal, and local regulations. More information is included in the attached document.

We will have a forum for MS1's from 5:30 to 6:30 and begin checking students in at 5:15. We will hold a forum for MS2's following the MS1 forum, which will begin at 6:30. We have selected forum writers that will be assigned to specific dates. They will go in front of the class and demonstrate what was learned in lab the previous week. Afterwards, students will have the opportunity to practice while forum writers and the board walk around and answer questions. We would like to use the OPP Lab every Tuesday of the fall semester from 5 to 8 pm.

February 11, 2025 at 5:05 PMApprovedSAAO Acupuncture and Relaxation WorkshopSAAO02/11/202504/07/2025SAAO will be holding an acupuncture workshop in the OPP lab on Monday, April 7th from 5 to 6:30 pm. Dr. Stephany Esper and Dr. Hendryx will be teaching students how to do simple acupuncture to reduce stress followed by a short meditation/stretching guided by Dr. Hendryx. The event would be open to all LECOM students and supplies would be provided by Dr. Hendryx and Dr. Stephanie. A sign up sheet will be released and the first 20 people to sign up will be able to participate in the acupuncture. Students beyond the first 20 will be able to attend and do the relaxation techniques, and if Dr. Stephany Esper and Dr. Hendryx have more time available, they will help those next on the list do the acupuncture.

When shown the attached flyer at checkout, 15% of the proceeds from the purchase will be donated to SAAO. The money raised will be used towards special events and convocation expenses.

October 10, 2022 at 8:46 PMRejectedHumanitarian Aid for UkraineSAAO10/10/202211/09/2022SAAO will be collaborating with SAACOFP to fundraise supplies that will be sent to medical professionals working at the front lines in Ukraine. As the winter is approaching, there is a great need for items that provide warmth as well as medications. The following supplies will be collected: hand warmers, foot warmers, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, thermals, gauze bandages, first aid kits, vitamin C, and cold medication. A collection box will be set up in the security office. April 3, 2025 at 12:27 AMApprovedLECOM Senior Living Center Bingo NightSAAO04/03/202505/08/2025SAAO will be bringing 10 volunteers to the LECOM Senior Living Center on May 8th at 6pm. We will be playing bingo and spending time with the residents. Dr. Melodie will be attending the event with us. Students will help the staff bring the residents down to the common area for bingo, help them play, then help staff return them to their quarters after. The bingo supplies will be provided by the Senior Living Center activities director, and Dr. Melodie has offered to bring some prizes for the residents, such as puzzles, word search books, and coloring books. It will give students an opportunity to get involved with the community and enjoy an evening with the residents of the care center.

These will be extremely helpful to MS2 students as we begin our cranial unit. SAAO will be selling these cards for $1 each. These cards have been reviewed/approved by Dr. Esper, Dr. Hendryx and Dr. C for use in our lectures/studying.

March 22, 2023 at 3:11 PMApprovedA "Convo" about ConvocationSAAO03/22/202304/12/2023SAAO is planning on hosting an event with the students and faculty who attended this year's American Academy of Osteopathy convocation in Colorado Springs, CO. This event will be an opportunity for the students who attended convocation to practice their newly learned OMT skills and also provide students a setting to ask questions about convocation. The goal is that after this evening interest will be built among the members of SAAO to plan to attend convocation in the Spring of 2023. The event will be on April 12th at 5 pm in the OPP lab.
