The session will be led by MS2 student Peri Dimitriou, a competitive ballroom dancer with a long experience competing nationally and leading dance clubs throughout her undergrad. To ensure proper oversight, Dr. Melodie Chludzinski graciously agreed to chaperon the event and the Lauren from the LECOM wellness Center also agreed on hosting the event contingent on the fact we obtain proper insurance. This workshop will focus on teaching proper technique in a safe, structured environment, allowing students of all skill levels to engage in physical coordination and cardiovascular exercise. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support future wellness initiatives for the Athletics Club. Insurance is actively being sorted out with Ethan Zelenke from SGA! We previewed event interest in our club's GroupMe and from there alone, roughly 20 people expressed interest in coming. We have yet to make an announcement to the entire COM but are expecting there will be significantly more interest once approved. Pricing will be: Early Bird (Venmo before Feb 19th for free food & drinks): $10 Single / $15 Pair -- At the Door: $15 Single / $20 PairJuly 29, 2019 at 3:34 PMRejectedStudent-Faculty Softball GameDO2 Max Club07/29/201908/08/2019The annual student-faculty softball game will take place at the LECOM softball field and all proceed will go to benefit the special olympics.August 21, 2023 at 4:57 PMApprovedAnesthesiology Club Fundraiser at ChipotleAnesthesiology Club08/21/202309/27/2023The anesthesiology club is planning on having a fundraiser at the Chipotle on Peach Street on September 27th to help raise funds for future club/speaker events, as we are a new club. 33% of the event sales will go to the club. The vision of this organization is to "become a vehicle to inspire young people to become active, socially engaged and united upon our shared Islamic and humanitarian values. Raising money to help countless Orphans and Needy Children across the World is just one outcome. Whatever the problem, no matter how complex or how longstanding, we will always find it easier to solve when we all work together." I have provided the following link of the organization for more details: https://charityweek.com/about/. A $10 fee will be charged to each person interested in participating in the tournament. 100% of the funds raised will go towards the organization. We will use our own club's funds to purchase water, cups, and trophies for the winning team. The tournament will work as a bracket 2-3 point system, first to 21. We will request teams of 3 and have 2 tournaments happening at the same time playing half-court games. We will have referees and board members to keep track of points and the bracket tournament. We were hoping to host this event on Saturday, November 4th from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the LECOM Wellness Center (5401 Peach St, Erie, PA 16509). This weekend seemed to work best with the MS1 and MS2 schedules so we hope to have good attendance for our event. I have called and confirmed availability with the Wellness Center and they notified me that we can host our event at the requested date/time.
