One aspect of their care is a Wig & Beauty Salon. They have plenty of wonderful wigs, but lack in the 'beauty' side of make-up and skin care patients. We are planning on gathering supplies to help these oncology patients dealing with hair and skin problems. As for the products gathered, I have this baseline from the clinic: "It seems that the makeup line that would be best is NYX. They are vegan-free and priced fair compared to some of the other brands. For lotions and such, Neutrogena is recommended. Both brands are sold at Ulta. The products we would like to have on hand are face soap/cleaners, face lotion, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadows, eye liners, brow pencils or temp tattoos, lip balms/sticks. Because we have women of all colors, a variety would be great. We don’t expect you to get everything, but any donation of these products would be most helpful as we stock the ‘beauty’ portion of our Wig & Beauty Salon. We are most appreciative of your willingness to help. We would be happy to provide a tax receipt to you if you give us a value on what you’ve donated since we are a non-profit." The drive would run from November 7th to November 14th. Every item donated will count as 0.5 hours for a maximum of 3 hours (as per previous events).August 22, 2025 at 10:31 AMApprovedMug and care package fundraiserENT_Ophthalmology08/22/202510/13/2025The ENT & Ophthalmology cub will be hosting a fundraiser where we sell anatomy mugs that include a care package. I am in contact with a seller (MugShotz1888 on etsy) for the mugs that will bulk sell them to us for $10 each, including shipping, as long as we order 20 mugs. The care package will include items such as a pair of blue light glasses, Emergen-C packets, tea bags, chapstick, travel hand sanitizer, small tissue packs, gum, honey sticks, etc. We will plan to sell these mugs/care package for $20 each from October 13th through October 24th. People can place their order with us and submit payment through either venmo or with cash. After the sale has ended, we will place the orders for the mugs and care package contents. We will then assemble them after everything has arrived and distribute them during lunch over the course of a few days. I have attached a picture of the mug below. Although Dr. Buzas is not listed under the drop down menu, I have obtained his written approval for the event and have also attached it below.December 4, 2023 at 6:52 PMApprovedChipotle FundraiserDO2 Max Club12/04/202301/13/2024The DO2 Max Club would like to hold a Chipotle Fundraiser. After donating blood, the donors are sent to the refreshment area of the center or drive so that they can relax for 10 minutes and have a snack. Once the donor is done with their snacks, there are no other interactions with staff, and they leave. There is a very small chance they come back and donate again in 56 days which is the reason why the volunteer program was started. The community blood bank felt that the final step of the donation process was lacking and thought having volunteers greet donors in the refreshment area could greatly impact the donation process. The role of the volunteer will be to thank the donor for their donation, get feedback from the donor, and most important, ask the donor to schedule a follow up donation. A volunteer at the last part of the donation could make a huge difference in getting donors to return for another donation. Asking for a follow-up donation is the most crucial item, because more consistent donors mean a better blood supply. Students will be able to sign up for shifts well in advance and will receive volunteer hours for their participation. Every hour spent volunteering will count towards one volunteer hour. Depending on the blood bank's COVID Mask Rule, masks may be required for anyone volunteering on site.August 22, 2022 at 1:07 PMApprovedVolunteering at the Community Blood BankClass of 202508/22/202209/13/2022The Community Blood Bank in Erie is starting a new volunteer program in hopes of generating more follow up donations with the help their volunteers.
