November 11, 2020 at 8:21 AMApprovedLECOM labeled OPP clothingWomens Health Club11/11/202011/30/2020The officers of the Women in Medicine club wanted to create a fun fundraiser event. The event would involve selling LECOM labelled OPP clothes (Sports bra, shorts, face masks) online to OMS1 and OMS2 LECOM student. The initial idea was to begin the fundraiser prior to OPP sessions beginning. However, we have reviewed the schedules for 1st and 2nd years, and it looks like 1st years begin Nov 30th. This may not be enough time to have the idea approved and the clothes printed and ready for sale by the time the first years start OPP. However, we still think it can be ready early enough into the start of OPP for the 1st years and before the start of OPP for the second years. The funds for this event will be donated to Erie’s local women shelter for Christmas and the holidays in an attempt to help the shelter with any needs their recipients may have during that time period.
March 6, 2023 at 3:51 PMApproved"What I wish I knew going into MS2" with Jake KesielNeuropsych Club03/06/202303/20/2023The NeuroPsych Club would like to host Jake Kisiel, D.O. for an hour of answering questions and sharing his perspective on what he "wishes he knew going into M2" over Zoom. Jake is a LECOM grad class of 2022 and is currently a PGY-1 at Millcreek's Psychiatry residency program. At such a critical time point on our road to be osteopathic physicians, we believe Jake would be an invaluable resource for students deciding what to do over the Summer (as it fast approaches) and how to strategize to make M2 as successful as possible. Plus, being a fresh LECOM grad, Jake will have a better idea of what sort of opportunities exist at LECOM and Erie at large that can help maximize our next steps as M2s towards our future careers. Prior to the event we will open up a google document so students can pose questions for Jake to answer. Also, as part of our COVID mitigation strategy we will be hosting the event over Zoom.

During the event, Dr. Jafry will answer questions asked by students and provide her understanding on what we as students can see as the “light at the end of the tunnel”. Prior to the event we will open up a google document so students can pose questions for Dr. Jafry to answer. Also, as part of our COVID mitigation strategy we will be hosting the event over Zoom.
