Dr. Campbell is a radiation oncologist who specializes in H&N and sarcoma and is an Executive Committee Past Chair for the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO). *Please note there may be a shift in event timing due to physician schedule, however, the date will remain the same!

The questions will come from SOMA members. This event will be open to all SOMA members.

This event will be geared toward students wishing to learn more about how to be culturally aware, and able to serve and effectively communicate with various populations as a doctor. Students will engage in thought-provoking activities, will learn about the populations that they will be serving, and have the opportunity for questions and discussion in a safe environment. We hope this training session provides a foundation and framework for students to begin their journeys in developing their understanding of diversity, inclusion, and cross-cultural appreciation.

For mobile orders, Chipotle will give us a promo code to correspond with our event. The money from the event will be used to help with our club costs for general meetings and other supplies.

Last time, there were only 35 students, so I would expect a maximum of 50 students to attend, meaning that we will have plenty of space in the OPP lab to ensure social distancing precautions are maintained. The topics over the following weeks that we intend to discuss include acupuncture again as well as how to find key lesions, strain patterns, and determining lymph flow/how to treat lymph flowing in the wrong direction. They will each last 1-2 hours.

September 27, 2021 at 12:23 PMApprovedSchool Supplies DriveSOMA09/27/202110/11/2021SOMA wants to create a COVID-safe opportunity for students to get involved in the Erie community. Having this school supplies drive creates an event is a way for LECOM students to reach out and be involved with the school community. SOMA will be putting together a school supplies drive. This will be a contactless event, and we propose having collection boxes at the entrance to Main Campus. Students will be able to leave school supplies for collection. Supplies will be picked up at the end of the drive by myself or Co-Chair Ellie Schommer. We will advertise this event to the entire Class of 2024 and class of 2025 so they are able to participate. At the conclusion of the school drive, I will arrange a date and time to drop off the supplies to a school of SOMA’s choosing. This will be done in a contact-free manner. Due to recent idea of event creation, but still the desire to do something early in the school year, the dates are soon. If the event needs modification and isn't approved until after the dates proposed, dates will be moved accordingly.

We have got the contact information for the company that supplied at Bradenton and are looking to duplicate the sale - with the same offerings. The Patagonia's allowed for custom embroidery and will feature the school crest logo (attached). Event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in Fall Semester.

This will take place at Andrew's photography studio. Andrew has worked with SOMA members in the past to take headshots and also has experiencing photographing Med Ball in the past. Date of photography session is still TBD and will be updated when date is determined but is expected to take place in Fall semester.

She, along with Dr. Stephen Hagberg, M.D., will be speaking about their Family Medicine Residency Program on Thursday, October 28th at 5:00PM over Zoom. They will be sharing general information on the program including curriculum, schedule, and the community. The info session will be followed by a Q&A session. Anyone is welcome to come prepared with questions about their residency program, questions about applications, or just come ready to listen.

He has presented at the American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP) Family Experience (FMX) Conference and American Academy of Family Physicians Global Health Summit. He was awarded 3rd place for the American College of Family Physicians (ACOFP) Jeffrey Grove, DO Minority/LGBTQI+ Health Disparity & Wellness Poster Competition, the 2019 APAMSA National Conference Poster Competition Best Poster in Community Health with Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Focus and the Best Scientific Research Poster at the 2019 APAMSA National Hepatitis Conference Poster Competition. Dr. Chin will be discussing his path to a Family Medicine Residency, his previous and current research, as well as general advice from a recent graduate on Tuesday, October 26th at 3PM. All are welcome to join!
