This September, we are excited to host a series of talks on sickle cell disease to help medical students gain a deeper understanding of how to identify patients, recognize complications, and provide effective care. On September 11, Dr. Amie Patel will discuss Pediatric Sickle Cell Care and the Transition into Long-term Management. On September 17, Dr. Troutman will present on Caring for Patients with Sickle Cell Disease: Disparities in Access to Care and Advocacy. Finally, on September 22, Dr. Abeles will speak on Adult Sickle Cell Care and the Challenges of Transitional Programs.
