LECOM students will be volunteering for the annual Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare event in Ithaca, NY. Students will support participants as they reach Ithaca Yacht Club after a swim of 1.2 miles across Cayuga Lake. Volunteers will be assisting with set-up and clean-up, making gift baskets, handing out prizes and refreshments/snacks, helping with activities such as a photo booth and a kids coloring table. This will be a great opportunity for students to get involved with the Southern Tier community and enjoy the beauty of the Finger Lakes while volunteering for an event that sheds light on the importance of care for the geriatric community.Â
