The ABS (The Amyloidosis Speakers Bureau) is an initiative focused on educating the next generation of doctors during medical school about this disease through presentations from amyloidosis patients and materials by expert medical advisors. Students will get to hear the raw and unedited story of Elizabeth, one of the patient speakers from the Amyloidosis Speakers Bureau, who will share their personal journey with amyloidosis — from symptoms, through diagnosis, treatment, and life today battling a rare and incurable disease.  This is a unique charity, because it focuses on educating medical students through a real-life patient encounter. The entirely virtual event will be hosted through ZOOM and will last roughly one hour. Mackenzie’s Mission has offered for us to use their ZOOM platform where they can hold a maximum of 500 students. A brief video about Amyloidosis is encouraged for students to watch before the event occurs.
