February 27, 2026 at 11:18 AMApprovedDO Day at the LECOM Senior Living CenterLECOM Med Erie - SGA02/27/202604/11/2026SGA, in collaboration with ACOS, the Family Medicine Club, and SSP, will host DO Day at the LECOM Senior Living Center (SLC) on April 11th, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Dr. Melodie Chludzinski will be present to oversee and support the event. From 1:00–3:00 PM, we will offer a Spa Day experience for residents. Two rounds of 12 participants (24 total) will rotate through this portion of the event. Residents will have the opportunity to soak their hands to gently remove existing nail polish, select a color of their choice, and receive fresh polish applied by student volunteers. Designed to be calming and restorative, the spa experience focuses on comfort, conversation, and individualized attention. Each participant will also receive a thoughtfully prepared goodie bag filled with self-care items, including sensitive-skin face masks, lotions, travel-size Vaseline and body wash, nail care items, nail polish, cuticle care supplies, and fuzzy socks; small comforts meant to extend the feeling of care beyond the event itself. From 3:00–5:00 PM, we will host Bingo, welcoming an estimated 40–50 residents. Students will assist and sit alongside residents as they play, helping to create a warm, engaging environment. Prizes will be distributed throughout the afternoon, and sugar-free snacks and beverages will be available during both portions of the event. This event is rooted in promoting wellness, relaxation, and meaningful social connection. The Spa Day offers therapeutic stress relief and personalized interaction, while Bingo fosters joy, laughter, and a sense of community among residents and LECOM students alike. Student volunteers will sign up in 2-hour blocks, with up to 30 volunteers per block (60 volunteers total). SGA will coordinate with ACOS, Family Medicine Club, and SSP to organize volunteers, manage setup, and ensure all supplies are prepared, allowing the day to run smoothly and create a positive, memorable experience for everyone involved.

The small equipment package will include a Dejerine Reflex Hammer, C128 Tuning Fork, C512 Tuning Fork, Penlight, Rosenbaum Pocket Eye Chart, Hospital Gown, Draping Sheet, and optional Professional Embroidered Doctor Bag. The sale will be through Steeles Supply Company. The sale will be completed via an online link: https://www.steeles.com/products/lecom-soma-student-discount-order-form where students can choose what they would like to buy and then pay for the purchase online with credit or debit card. The order will be a bulk order, shipped to the school and then be dispersed to the students. The link, along with a description of the products, will be sent to students via email to let them know of the sale.
February 26, 2026 at 8:22 AMApprovedSOMA & Allies Card DriveSOMA02/26/202604/06/2026SOMA & Allies club are excited to announce the collaboration of a card drive from April 6th at 8 am to 10th at 5pm. SOMA and Allies Club will be holding a card drive where students can create or donate handwritten cards with uplifting messages. The cards will be delivered to local nursing home residents to help brighten their days and remind them they are valued and remembered. A drop box labeled for card collections will be placed in the lobby where cards can be placed. Cards made will can be counted towards service hours(1 hour for 5 cards donated for a maximum of 2 hours/10 items). When donating cards, students should put their items in a bag clearly labeled with their name and year (MS1, MS2, etc.). Instagram Spread some kindness SOMA & Allies Club are hosting a Card Drive (April 6th–10th) to help brighten the days of local nursing home residents! You can make your cards and drop them off in the collection box located in the lobby. Cards can be counted towards volunteering with 5 cards = 1 hour of service (maximum of 2 hours total). Make sure to place your cards in a bag or clipped together clearly labeled with your name and year. A small card can make a big difference. Let’s come together to spread positivity, connection, and community!

This event will be held on a Saturday afternoon. At the event, students will have the opportunity to participate and interact with others through friendly volleyball matches. While volleyball is being played, the Spanish Medical Club will provide a courtside activity where students can practice labeling common anatomical features in Spanish. All equipment for the interactive activity and volleyball will be provided by the three participating clubs. An email with an Excel sign-up sheet will be sent to Spanish Medical Club, Research Club, and Family Medicine Club members, with a maximum of 30 students allowed to sign up. Students will adhere to all current regulations set by LECOM. Our club advisor, Dr. Labranche, has approved of the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Saturday, April 18th, from 2 pm to 5 pm at Beach 6 at Presque Isle State Park.
February 24, 2026 at 10:04 PMApprovedSAAO & CMDA Food DriveSAAO02/24/202604/06/2026SAAO & CMDA will be collaborating with the Second Harvest Food Bank for a food drive (consisting of non-perishable items; mainly canned goods). Donations will be collected from April 6th to April 10th from 8 am to 5 pm. A drop off box clearly labeled “SAAO-CMDA Food Drive” will be placed on one of the tables in the front entrance. Any LECOM student can donate; they will receive volunteer hours for it (0.5 hours for 1 item donated for a maximum of 2 hours/4 items) They should put their items in a bag clearly labeled with their name and year (MS1, MS2, etc.). These dropoff boxes will be routinely checked to ensure that there is no overflow. Drop off of goods will be arranged with Madison Maurice (mmaurice@nwpafoodbank.org) at the Food Bank. These donations will go to members of our community, and we hope that this provides a meaningful way for students to give back to those in need and impact the community in a positive way.

It would cost 87$ + 3.05$ service fee, and we would sell them each for 3.50$ each coming to 126$ total in sales. It would be held in the cafeteria and would just require a table to be able to have the cakes at and to sell them there.

The dates of distribution will be on March 19th for MS2s (10 AM) and March 26th for MS1s (9:30 AM). Both will be conducted in case room 117 prior to the student group’s review sessions, and Dr. McCarthy will be in attendance during distribution on both days to maintain oversight. During that time of the semester, MS2’s will begin to enter the brunt of their Board studying while MS1s will have begun Neuroanatomy. Board prep and starting a new system can be stress inducing experiences. The wellness items, which include candles, tea bags, face masks, and stress toys, will help alleviate that stress and allow students to continue to put their best foot forward.

The speaker event will be one hour in length and will consist mostly of a description of the match into PM&R, Sports medicine fellowship, and day to day practice as a PM&R sports medicine physician. It will be held in person in one of the LECOM Fitness Center Conference rooms.

A Chipotle lunch event to help refuel our brains for Neuro!Class of 202902/19/202603/17/2026The Class of 2029 is planning to host a Chipotle-catered lunch on March 17, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 PM to boost morale during neuroanatomy. We respectfully request to reserve Vora Lounge to accommodate the full class. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will have a sign up sheet that goes out to the entire class and based on who signs up first, we will organize everyone into 10 minute time slots to come and grab their food throughout the hour to minimize hallway congestion. Members of the Class Board of 2029 will oversee food distribution in the Vora Lounge to ensure appropriate portioning and organization. To promote efficient traffic flow and minimize congestion in both the lounge and surrounding hallways, we plan to utilize the two back tables in Vora Lounge for food setup and establish a clearly designated pathway for the serving line. To maintain hygiene and safety standards: Hand sanitizer will be available at the beginning of the serving line. Serving utensils will be monitored to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and limit the spread of germs. We have informed Dupree of the planned event and have coordinated with Maintenance to notify them of the potential for increased waste disposal needs. The Class Board members will be responsible for all of the event cleanup immediately following the lunch, as no board members have scheduled classes during that time. We have also taken dietary considerations into account. Vegan options will be available through customizable bowls without animal products, and gluten-free options will be available by offering bowl-based meals without tortillas. We appreciate your consideration of this request and look forward to hosting a well-organized and inclusive event for the Class of 2029.

This event will be held on a Wednesday evening to train EM members on how to perform CPR with proper technique and efficacy. At the event, Dr. Risavi will give a presentation and show videos to discuss the importance of, and demonstrate, high-quality CPR. Then, there will be a hands-on learning opportunity for students to practice and be assessed on techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, Dr. Risavi will issue students a CPR license from the National CPR Foundation. It will give our members the chance to interact with one another while earning a valuable certification. All equipment and mannequins for the interactive activity will be provided by Dr. Risavi. An email with an Excel sign-up sheet will be sent to Emergency Medicine Club members, with a maximum of 25 students allowed to sign up. Students will adhere to all current regulations set by LECOM. Our club advisor, Dr. Risavi, has approved the event and will be in attendance. This event will be held on Wednesday, March 18th, in the OPP Lab from 6 pm to 8 pm.

We will purchase chocolate sauce and pistachio cream from Amazon and strawberries from Tops. The cups will be self assembled by 2 members of the Simulation Club Eboard in the Vora Lounge, which takes less than a minute to do so.

The attached designs will be ordered.

We will be catering food from Kadhai Kitchen (5901 W Ridge Rd, Erie, PA 16506), and AMMSA board members will personally handle food pickup and delivery. Additionally, all cleanup responsibilities will be handled by our board members. We will bring extra trash bags and ensure the space is left in the same condition as we found it.
