July 27, 2022 at 7:53 PMCancelledBig TrainingSOMA07/27/202209/09/2022This event has already been discussed with Dr. Lee and Dr. Thielman! As requested by Dr. Ferretti, we will be having a mandatory training for anyone who was selected as a Big for SOMA's Big/Little program. We will have Dr. Kevin Klauer give a talk for the first hour (a separate event request has been submitted for this!), and then we will take the second hour (this event request) to cover the overview of the Big program. We will be instructing Bigs on what to do and what not to do, what advice to share with their littles, and what topics to avoid as they are out of our scope as Bigs. The agenda for the meeting will be developed with Dr. Lee, who will be in attendance for the training to ensure we have appropriate faculty oversight. We feel this is an important event to have in person, which is why we have requested reserving Lecture Hall D. We will require all attendees to wear masks, and will practice appropriate social distancing, and follow all other COVID protocols. Attendance will be taken, and a post-event recap will be sent to Dr. Shabloski when the event is complete.
March 27, 2024 at 11:37 AMApprovedBeds for Foster FamiliesChristian Medical and Dental Association03/27/202404/30/2024The Keystone Family Alliance is supporting foster families by having support groups in the local areas to meet the needs of the foster parents. Currently one of the highest requests has been for beds that will allow for the foster kids to feel more at home and welcomed in midst of the big changes they face. As a lot of LECOM students might be moving for rotations or residencies, there might be some beds that could be donated for this cause and create a positive impact in supporting family welfare systems.
