Students must order via the form for delivery onto campus. APAMSA board members available that morning will bring the order from the shop to campus. The orders will be available for pickup on Wednesday, April 29th from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with setup 11:00 AM-11:30 AM and double-checking for any leftovers 12:30 PM-12:45 PM. This event will be held on Saturday, April 12, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and will provide students with both skills practice and skills testing required for BLS certification. The American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Course is designed to equip healthcare providers with the essential skills needed to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. Training will cover high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), effective ventilations with a barrier device, relief of choking in responsive and unresponsive victims, and the importance of early recognition and intervention in cardiac arrest situations. Following the hands-on practice session, students will complete the skills testing component necessary for certification. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive their AHA BLS Provider e-card certification via email. All necessary equipment for training will be provided by Dr. Risavi. An excel sign-up sheet will be available for students to register, with a maximum of 25 participants allowed. Students will adhere to current LECOM COVID regulations throughout the event. This is an excellent opportunity to develop life-saving skills, interact with fellow students, and gain an essential certification for clinical rotations and future medical practice. We encourage all interested students to sign up and take advantage of this valuable training experience!October 17, 2019 at 9:56 AMApprovedBlood Pressure Clinic at the YMCA GlenwoodInternal Medicine Club10/17/201910/19/2019During this event we will be taking blood pressure readings for the members of the YMCA Glenwood. The first one is the Jo Coffee fundraiser. Since we are raising money for 2 organizations, I thought 2 fundraiser events would raise enough money to donate to both. This one is simple. Students simply show up to Blaze Pizza and show them the flyer for our fundraiser and then Blaze will send a check back to us to donate to our causes. We will receive 20% of the sales profit. Then half of the money can be donated to Love and Hope Children's Home in El Salvador via their website to help buy medication for the children there. The other half will go to Dr. Mendez, an infectious disease physician, at the San Rafael Hospital in San Salvador. She will use the money to buy baby formula for HIV positive mothers and toward installing indoor plumbing for them.April 30, 2019 at 8:38 AMApprovedBlaze Pizza FundraiserSSP04/30/201905/17/2019SSP would like to host a Blaze pizza fundraiser.
