Purpose: To provide an opportunity for LECOM MS1s and MS2s to hear from physicians about their specialties directly. The event is open to all LECOM students. Funding: No funding is necessary for this event. The general breakdown of the event will include a 30 minute introduction from the physicians. They can discuss bread and butter cases, unique cases that appeared during practice, etc. In the last 30 minutes, students may ask specific specialty questions. SGA board members will assist in leading the Q&A panels.

This will be a service opportunity for students to earn a half hour of service for every one item they donate. To ensure safety with COVID, all donations will be made in front of the LECOM building in a designated box to avoid contact or entrance into the LECOM building.

They have done amazing work and have made a difference in the lives of roughly 10,000 individuals yearly. Their mission is to enable, educate and empower the visually impaired through supporting, motivating, and mobilizing preeminent eye hospitals, blind schools, vision professionals, technology innovators, governments and nongovernmental organizations serving the underprivileged segments of Indian society. Our goal is to distribute before hybrid students leave before the semester ends and as online student come into the Erie area they could potentially wear these shirts to their OPP labs. The shirts are already in stock so we are not taking orders but selling what we have on hand at this time.

The MS1 Forum will occur from 5:30-6:30pm and the MS2 Forum will occur from 6:30-7:30 pm. These review sessions will occur every other week but may occasionally occur two weeks in a row depending on the need and the OPP lab schedule.

The purpose of this dinner would be to offer a relaxed environment that the current executive board and forum writers could meet with the newly voted executive board and forum writers to foster a seamless transition/changing of the guard. At this dinner, new ideas for the 2024-2025 academic year will be discussed, forum writers can work together to share tips on how to lead successful forums and retain members. We would also like to invite several faculty members to this dinner to encourage conversation about osteopathy in practice, tips for board studying and rotations, and convocation preparation. We would like to invite Dr. Stephany, Dr. Erik Esper, Dr. Hendryx, Dr. Balmer, Dr. Cukierkski, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Chludzinski, and Dr. Rowane to name a few. We have 35 members planning on attending convocation in March so this would also be a great way to build excitement for this trip. We are really hoping this dinner can serve as a "Jump Start" to the new year with the new chapter leadership and also jumpstart our trip to Colorado Springs. We are allocating $350 for this dinner to offset costs of food for the members in attendance. Any costs of food over this amount will be assumed by the individuals there in attendance. This dinner will be open to the old and new exec board members, old and new forum writers, and members attending convocation in March.

Additional pins for the following systems will also be offered: MSK (gold femur), Neurology, and GI. Pins are $5 each and can be picked up in the cafeteria on November 17th from 11:30AM-12:30PM.
August 9, 2019 at 11:56 AMCancelledRuck the BayLECOM Military Medicine Club08/09/201908/30/2019Ruck the Bay is a donation/fundraising event for the EUMA's Liberty House which raises supplies and money for veterans. On October 13th, Participants ruck, walk, or run a 10K with a bag filled with donations (canned food, clothes, coins etc). LECOM Military Medicine would like to collect supplies from the student body to carry and then donate on the day of the event, starting on Aug 30th. We would like the ability to set up a collection box to collect donations during Lunch and in the mornings in the LECOM Cafeteria. The collections will take place from August 30th to October 11th. Due to the size of the event, the press will be expected to be present, but we did not contact them ourselves. On the day of the event , members of LECOM's Military Medicine club will be wearing club shirts with the LECOM name on them as well as carrying the donated items to the final collection point.

Now it is called "Rotating Rotations" and instead of Presque Isle will be happening on campus in Lec Hall Day on Sept. 27th.

Dr. D'Amico is a Philadelphia College Of Osteopathic Medicine graduate who completed his residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. D'Amico is going to speak to club members about his path to cardiology and the field of cardiology. Club members will be able to ask questions to Dr. D'Amico about his journey or his advice as well. Attendees will follow whatever COVID protocols are in place at the time of the event. Our speaker is also our advisor, so he will be in attendance as well.
