We will be selling T-shirts featuring Dr. Risavi’s Emergency Medicine Commandments. This will be an online sale, with all orders collected and tracked through email and a shared spreadsheet. We will advertise the fundraiser through social media and campus channels to maximize participation. Once the shirts arrive, we will distribute them on campus, following all school guidelines for event setup and distribution. The sale will run from January 12th-19th, and most likely arrive early February. Distribution will take place in the Vora Lounge once all orders have been fulfilled. Cost for short sleeve t-shirts will be $20 and the long sleeve shirts will be $25. Our club advisor, Dr. Risavi, is fully supportive of this fundraiser, and we are excited to provide a fun and meaningful way for students to show their EM pride.

Afterwards a photo will be taken with all the previous years' quilts in the Atrium to be submitted with the club donation to organizations dedicated to AIDS treatment and ongoing research for curative therapies, namely the Elton John Foundation. Materials are club provided and instruction is available for all students who wish to join. A donation amount is still being determined.
December 1, 2025 at 9:41 AMApprovedSecond Harvest Food Bank VolunteeringPathology Club12/01/202501/24/2026The pathology club plans on hosting a volunteer event at the Second Harvest Food Bank on 1/24/2026 in the AM from 9:00 to 11:30. We have done this as a club previously and the website description of the role states - Volunteers in this role will work alongside other volunteers and Second Harvest staff to accomplish the "Project of the Day". While warehouse projects vary by shift, volunteers can expect to sort, pack, and prepare grocery items for our neighbors in need. We are looking for anywhere from 10-15 volunteers for that morning.

Students will assist with blood pressure screenings at the mosque’s free clinic, giving them a valuable opportunity to apply H&P skills in a real-world setting. A joint sign-up sheet will be sent to both clubs, and Dr. Karl Falk will be present to supervise. We anticipate needing no more than 15 volunteers. November 21, 2025 at 9:12 AMCompleteSOMA Fall Patagonia SaleSOMA11/21/202508/04/2026Due to the continued success of the Patagonia sale on our campus, and after being approached by multiple students asking to have the sale again, LECOM Erie SOMA would like to host a Fall Patagonia sale. The Patagonia's will allow for custom embroidery and will feature the school crest logo (attached). The event will take place remotely (with pick up at the school), in the early fall semester. A Google Form will be sent out upon event approval, and the sale will run from August into September. This event is also a crucial fundraising effort that significantly reduces travel stress for both the President and NLO's mandatory 3 conference attendance. Multiple types of Patagonia jackets will be offered, including vests, full zip jackets, and quarter zip jackets. Pick up will be at the school in the cafeteria.

The small equipment package will include a Dejerine Reflex Hammer, C128 Tuning Fork, C512 Tuning Fork, Penlight, Rosenbaum Pocket Eye Chart, Hospital Gown, Draping Sheet, and optional Professional Embroidered Doctor Bag. The sale will be through Steeles Supply Company. The sale will be completed via an online link: https://www.steeles.com/products/lecom-soma-student-discount-order-form where students can choose what they would like to buy and then pay for the purchase online with credit or debit card. The order will be a bulk order, shipped to the school and then be dispersed to the students. The link, along with a description of the products, will be sent to students via email to let them know of the sale.

The goal of this event is to collect essential items for cats and dogs in need this winter. Students would be encouraged to donate from a general list as well as a high-priority needs list provided by the shelter. Proposed Event Details: Location: Main Lobby of LECOM Dates: December 6th–16th Volunteer Hours Incentive: Donate 2 items → earn 1 volunteer hour Donate 4 items → earn 2 volunteer hours All donated items will be delivered directly to the Erie Humane Society at the end of the collection period.
November 19, 2025 at 1:33 PMApprovedRadiology Quick Review Guide FundraiserRadiology Club11/19/202512/05/2025The LECOM Radiology Club has worked with Dr. Kulesza to create a comprehensive, systems stratified, booklet of pathologies with characteristics identifiable on radiologic imaging. The target audience is both MS1 and MS2 classes for use when studying systems and board review. The booklet was inspired by Dr. Kulesza's Clinical Supplement and highlights key signs, buzzwords and modalities for specific pathologies that are covered in the LECOM curriculum. All images are adapted from Radiopaedia.org, with appropriate citations and Radiopaedia IDs to help students view the case in a full-definition. Radiopaedia.org gave their permission for our use of their images provided these appropriate citations. Our club plans to print 8.5 x 5.5 in, full color, spiral bound booklets and sell them for $15-25 each, pending final printing and shipping costs. The fundraiser will go live before winter break and upon our return in the spring we will distribute them. Payment will be accepted via Venmo or cash, Venmo preferred to increase engagement over winter break. We are happy to provide SGA with our final draft if needed. We plan to provide Dr. Shabloski and any other faculty that requests a copy for final revision if necessary. If possible, we would like to include the LECOM logo on the cover to increase "official" quality of the booklet. The Radiology club may use this booklet with future revisions in future years as fundraisers.

November 18, 2025 at 11:40 AMApprovedAnnual AHN St. Vincent–LECOM Sim DayEmergency Medicine11/18/202501/23/2026The St. Vincent Emergency Medicine attendings and residents will be hosting a comprehensive EM Skills Clinic on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 6–8 PM at McGarvey Hall, St. Vincent Hospital. This workshop will be led by Dr. Irtaza Asar, the current Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director at St. Vincent. Throughout the evening, students will receive guided, hands-on instruction in several essential emergency medicine procedures. Training will include performing FAST and basic cardiac ultrasound exams, practicing ultrasound-guided central line placement, working through both direct and Glidescope intubations, and gaining experience with lumbar punctures. This clinic is designed to help students build confidence with high-yield procedural skills that will be invaluable during clinical rotations and future practice. A sign-up sheet will be provided for students who wish to participate, ensuring adequate time and access to each station. We are excited to offer this opportunity and encourage all interested students to take part in this exceptional hands-on experience.

LECOM students work extremely hard during this time of the year and sometimes a little pick me up after a long 8am-5pm day is exactly what you need to recharge. To show appreciation for the hard work our classmates put into their studies, NeuroPsych and several parterning clubs will be providing cookies and other treats during the MS2 lunch hour on Thursday, December 4th. We will be sure to provide both gluten-free and nut-free options for those with intolerances and allergies. The following clubs have generously contributed in hopes of making this event flourish even more: - SGA - Anesthesiology Club - Orthopedics Club - Surgery Club - APAMSA More clubs may be joining as well as the date approaches!

During the MS2 lunch hour, the two clubs plan to purchase and upsell bubble tea from the SobaEra_Tsaocaa restaurant. Depending on their inventory, 30-40 bubble teas will be sold. The clubs will split the proceeds made at the end of the day. This fundraiser event will occur on Friday, December 5th.

November 11, 2025 at 4:43 PMApprovedPBL Breakfast @ BayfrontMental Health Task Force11/11/202512/05/2025The Mental Health Task Force would like to request permission to host a PBL Breakfast for first- and second-year students at the Bayfront campus on December 5th from 9-11 am. The event would take place in the Bayfront cafeteria on a table (that the task force will bring) along the righthand wall in front of the Coca-Cola display case and will include pre-packaged breakfast items such as muffins, granola bars, and Pop-Tarts. A Mental Health Task Force member and a faculty member, Dr. Waters, will be present for the entire event to make sure everything goes smoothly. This event is intended to support student wellbeing during a period of increased academic stress, as PBL students are currently approaching finals. Many students have limited time in the morning to prepare or eat breakfast, and providing convenient, individually packaged food options encourages proper nourishment, allows for a brief study break, and fosters positive peer interaction. We believe this event will promote community support, reduce stress, and reinforce healthy habits during a demanding time in the semester.

We will be selling mini bundt cakes in the cafeteria for $3 each. We will be purchasing 4 boxes of assorted flavors. Proceeds will go towards funding future events for the clubs and its members. The profits will be split. This submission is in addition to the already under-review submission from the NeuroPsychology club (#8885). NeuroPsychology Club President Elyanor Adnane (EAdnane21561@med.lecom.edu) is aware and helped coordinate this partnership.

This event will include painting nails, giving nail massages, and providing face masks to the residents. We will also provide spa water and snacks to the residents as part of the event. This is a great opportunity to interact with the residents and provide them with a fun and relaxing experience.

The intended audience is mainly MS1s but also other MS2 students who would like to get involved in research. The aim of this event is to encourage future scholarly activity, and to provide a formal setting to allow LECOM students interested in participating in research at LECOM and other institutions to hear about the different ways fellow students found their research opportunities (between MS1 and MS2 summer) and ask questions about their experiences. The session will last from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in Vora Lounge the agenda for the session is as follows: 3:30-3:40– Introduction + Basics types research students were involved in 3:40-4:10 – 6 selected students will take 5 minutes each to detail: How they found the opportunity How they got the opportunity/Application process What their project was (briefly) – any clinical aspect? What they liked and/or any drawback to the program (organization?) Are you continuing, or were you given the option to continue your research now? 4:10-4:30 – Breakout sessions; one side of the room will be devoted to discussing research at LECOM, and the other will be devoted to discussing research at other institutions. More MS2s who participated in research this past summer, in addition to the 6 who presented, will be in these groups, and students can ask any questions or have discussions individually with any MS2s who participated in research.
