The St. Vincent Emergency Medicine attendings and residents will be hosting a comprehensive EM Skills Clinic on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 6–8 PM at McGarvey Hall, St. Vincent Hospital. This workshop will be led by Dr. Irtaza Asar, the current Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director at St. Vincent.
Throughout the evening, students will receive guided, hands-on instruction in several essential emergency medicine procedures. Training will include performing FAST and basic cardiac ultrasound exams, practicing ultrasound-guided central line placement, working through both direct and Glidescope intubations, and gaining experience with lumbar punctures. This clinic is designed to help students build confidence with high-yield procedural skills that will be invaluable during clinical rotations and future practice.
A sign-up sheet will be provided for students who wish to participate, ensuring adequate time and access to each station. We are excited to offer this opportunity and encourage all interested students to take part in this exceptional hands-on experience.
